gus_mili reacted to Ian88 in K1 path - update
Hey - a quick update on my progress; hopefully this gives current applicants an idea of contemporary time frames for various stages of the process after entry to the US.
I entered via LAX on January 16, 2022.
Filed I-485, I-765, and I-131 on February 2, 2022. Biometrics appointment was on lMarch 3, 2022. EAD card arrived on March 23, 2022 (45 days from filing). Finally, my Green Card interview is scheduled for May 20, 2022.
I also called my local Social Security Administration office 10 days after entry and arranged an in-person appointment. My SSN (card) arrived 45 days later - took a while, but this was faster than checking the option to do it during AOS filing.
Anyway, things seem to be moving much faster than they have been during the covid era!

Update on my interview at the US London Embassy today!!
I arrived at the US Embassy and joined a queue, took roughly 20minutes. Upon arriving at the front I was asked for my passport and invitation letter/DS-160 confirmation.
I then went through airport style security, no laptops or iPads permitted into the building! I was asked to open any app on my mobile.
I then made my way to the entrance where I joined another queue but once I got closer I informed the receptionist that I'm here for the K1 and she asked me to come forward, handed the DS-160 again, she stuck my number on the paper. Asked me to then proceed to floor 1, left then left again.
I approached the waiting room and immediately saw my number appear on the screen. The friendly lady behind the window asked a few questions; if I've ever been married, changed my name and when am I planning to travel. Then she asked me for the following documents:
1. Passport + 1 pic
2. Police certificate
3. Birth certificate (+ translation as its in a different language
4. Affadivit and a tax return but i provided my fiances W2 + Tax return transcript
I Wasn't asked for a letter of intent however, I had one from my fiance just in case. I then had a fingerprint scan. She then asked me to sit down and wait for my number to be called.
Fast forward 5 minutes and my number was called. I approached a different window and I cannot tell you how friendly the American man was!
He first asked me to raise my hand and swore me in, then scanned finger prints again. He proceeded with 'let's have a chat my friend' super casual! He asked the following questions:
1. How did we meet
2. When did we start talking
3. Have you lived in any other country as an adult
4. Who proposed
5. When did I propose
6. What are our wedding plans (small intimate wedding, married within 90 days)
After this he said everything looks great and approved my visa on the spot. Took 5minutes!! Told me my passport will be returned next week :)!
I was extremely nervous but honestly this was the easiest part about the entire process!!

Haha you are right though, we've waited for over a year! What's a few more weeks of doing it the correct way right? That's what I was thinking but then one thing led to another and before you knew it, interview was booked loool!! But again I also knew that we didn't have to wait for any documents from London!
Thank you! I'll let everyone know how my medical and interview goes so if I make any mistakes then the next person won't

We checked earlier today our case status and it was updated from 'at NVC' to 'In transit'!!
Super excited for the next stage - getting closer! Booked the medical in advance for the first week of May in London, so hopefully we will have received the email/letter from NVC or embassy with our case number by then. 🤞

Heeeey congrats! so I haven't recieved anything yet from London but I'm hoping this week as my package only arrived last Friday!
I've heard you don't need London to send you anything as you won't need it for anything from this point onwards.
NVC will send you an email once your file has left with an email attachment of your case number and personal details (you need this in order to attend the medical, but you only need the LND number to book). However, I went ahead and booked my medical soon as I recieved my case number over the phone (I booked it for like 4 weeks ahead just in case). There were loads of appointments available btw
Once my case went in to transit I registered and tried to book my interview but it would tell me 'not yet ready to schedule interview', so I waited a few days and tried again, it worked! I paid £206 and then scheduled my interview a week after my medical. I have my medical in 3 weeks and 4 weeks until interview :)!
I'll keep you updated!

I booked my interview Feb 15th and the earliest available for me then was March 14th. Also one thing to take into consideration is the medical people are very busy at the moment so get that booked as soon as you can as well! I had my medical a week before my appointment and they had managed to send my results over in time for the interview

With great pleasure I can finally say that we got approved! To say that we're happy is an understatement!
The entire proceess took 369 days and we did have an RFE in the meantime.
Best of luck to everyone else!
Onto the next step now :)

Thank you!! I registered in order to book an interview and when I entered all of my case details etc it had given me a message saying 'you are not yet ready to book an interview', I'm assuming because I literally tried as soon as I recieved the email from NVC haha
I'm going to try the DHL hack today and also see if I can schedule an interview
You guys aren't far behind, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if you get ahead of me! I really hope you hear something back, stay positive our adventure is only about to start

Hey guys! Just an update, so I recieved an email today from NVC to let me know our case is in transit to London (took roughly a week since NVC created our case number) it's moving pretty quick. Now to see how quick I can book an interview date haha thats the real question!

Currently in the process of finalising all vaccines before the medical.
I have had a Td shot, but since this was over 10 years ago I'll be going to my GP today to get a booster.
I've also had two MMR shots - the last one was over 10 years ago, but from what I see I do not need a booster shot right? It's just two for life?
Will avoid the flu shot as medical will be certainly after flu season!

My NOA2 is 1st March so a month behind you all but preparing all the paperwork for medical and interview!
