Well my husband and my journey is now at an end we crossed the peace bridge and all went smooth took about 30 mins only bc I had reprisals and a hamster. 

I must say this was the easiest Poe crossing ever!!! We pulled up to the peace bridge with a 20 foot uhaul only one car in front of us. We handed our passport and the man at the window was like ok so one American and one immigrating with a giant smile. Told us I just need a stamp and the pull into any parking spot and head into door 2. We got inside and was called up to the window and was only now asked my new address. They took my photo and finger prints and said I was good to go. We made a really nice list and no one checked it and didn’t even check my uhaul... now the hard part was I had my hammy and reptiles with me so I kinda made them take the paper work for that. Sadly the fws wasn’t in so it took about 10 mins for them to sort out that. If you are bringing over any exotic pets make sure to just double check what all you need bc in some cases you may need a permit to import them. It still doesn’t feel real yet  feel like I need to head back to Canada in a week like normal. Ps kinda sad they didn’t even look at my importing paper work we work so hard to do lol but I think he saw the giant folder and as like yeah they filled it out lol.

I had my interview today and the officer told me that he's approving my visa and my passport should arrive in 2-3 weeks. So happy hearing those golden words. My wife travelled with me and she just wouldn't stop crying. After 2 years and 1 month finally we are approved. Thanks a lot to everyone whole helped in this forum. I can't be thankful enough. And my best wishes for all who have their interviews coming up.

Gratz!!! So glad everything went well. Are you planning to be home for the holidays? 

Truth if they are waiting on info from another source and it taking longer then normal and you file a wom they have what is it 30 days to respond ect if they can’t get there info that will pass you in that time from you will be denied. A wom was file for cases over seas and won only because they refused to do interview during covid also one regarding k1 visas. If a lawyer is pushing for you to file a wom they just want the money and don’t have ur best interest in mind. That being said if you been sitting in limbo for a year well filing may be an option. I think I heard of a few case way back on the day when a bunch of ppl didn’t get there i130 approved bc there was a flood at the office and paper work got lost/damaged and they filed for and expedite. But after putting on my thinking cap I think I know why so many ppl are getting the denied. They normally run background checks ect before ur interview. These past few month montreal upped the amount of interviews so they may have did quick background check to get ppl into the interview how ever there’s a flag requesting more info and to do the checks after. That way the can “clear the backlog” if they ran the full reports then they would still be months behind waiting for reports to come in. 

No didn’t need to remove my rings ect or shoes  just put ur folder in the bucket and they X-ray it 

Sorry to hear about your mom. I returned to Canada 6 days after activating my visa and it was not an issue entering Canada or returning to the US! 

They intend to approve!!! Status hasn’t changed yet, but hopefully by sometime tmr. 
 
Officer was super friendly — felt like a good conversation as opposed to an interview! 
 
Said to expect the passport back within 2-3 weeks, but that it’d likely be sooner!

Good news everyone! I just got an email saying they released my passport and it's being shipped over. That email didn't say anything about being approved/denied, it just simply said they released my passport and gave a tracking number so I was still a little worried.
I also got another 'appointment confirmation' email but with my same Sept 27th date, so I was confused but I noticed they changed my passport pickup location to downtown Toronto so I'm guessing that was an automated email that failed to highlight what exactly was updated.
 
We checked the CEAC status checker (https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx) and it said it was issued Nov 10th!
 
Hopefully I'll be picking up my passport next week sometime
 
So to summarize: Visa interview Sept 27th > Sent DS-5535 Sept 28th > Nov 10-12th (~45 days) visa issued and notified about shipping.

Things I noticed today was a lot of ppl were missing docs showed up with backpacks. Also noticed a lot of ppl didn’t have there medicals in on time. I over preped just in case brought all my requested paperwork plus some. I also made sure to have all my originals and all original tax docs from 2019 and 2020 just case. This did save me in the end as they want to see them. I also brought proof of continued relationship so chat logs flight tickets ect. I wasn’t asked for them but you never know. I was asked the normal questions as everyone else I was asked if we had any kids and let them know we just had cats since they are our kids. I also brought copy of my husbands stuff eg birth certificate passport ect. I went a little ham but didn’t want to miss anything. My husband waited outside for me the whole time I’m not sure who was more nervous me or him lol. 

Yes two steps issued ap then issued final processing. Looks like they send our passports Monday Wednesday and Friday’s 

It will prob be on Monday. Fingers crossed there still time for today though lol
