  1. Have the same problem with my name change (for now close to two months) and then DMV as well. Social security office is completely useless and claims there is nothing they can do so now I am stuck in this limbo where DMV won’t issue a license in my maiden name and waits for my married name social security card and SSA is waiting for DHS to “click a button”. Extremely frustrating 😡

I also had a delay on the MyUSCIS website, I received 3 emails and for more than a day it didn’t reflect changes, then my I-485 changed to “Case Approved”. Today my AP status changed to “Case Was Terminated”. I’m not sure how USCIS is sending notifications and not updating the website records… but you’ll probably see yours soon.

My green card arrived yesterday! So happy to be able to start being a bit more independent again. Wishing everyone that their cases will move quickly as well

My case changed to "Card Was Produced" today! Hopefully I'll receive the card next Monday and will be able to take a 2 year vacation from immigration haha. Let me know how your case goes!

Nice to see they move it from approved to card produced quite quickly! So far I only got two additional emails that there have been action taken on my case which hasn’t actually showed up in the account but guessing it was the termination of AP and EAD

I read on the SSN website that you had to have your EAD or a written reason for a SSN. Should we apply for it or wait for it to come with the EAD

I applied two weeks after arrival prior to marriage. All they needed was my I-94 and my passport. After that it arrived in about 5 days with no problems. Definitely recommend getting it sooner than later because it truly helps with a lot of things (at least that was my case)

Hi @Fil&Em, thank you so much for your detailed reply.

I 100% agree that it's probably the best to apply for it with AOS

My future employer was pushing me to get the work authorization ASAP so I wanted to see what would be the efficient way of going about it.

It was super helpful& thank you!

If you have a job offer from a future employer that is a solid ground for an EAD expedite which would make the wait significantly slower (in most cases that is)
