Whereabouts are you seeing the amount of approvals?

I've been trying to keep busy in order to take my mind off just how excited and nervous I am getting, now that the NOA2 is drawing near. As well as trying not to stress myself out while worrying if I have enough evidence etc for the interview 😄

Best of luck to you all! 😊

Hi Sharmarine. I use the Case Tracker iOS app. My Aussie fiancé had issues finding it on the android store but that’s where I’ve been seeing cases being approved. I only seen 2 September 1st. A lot of August left to go.

I saw the October 2020 K1 filers and some individuals that filed late August are already receiving their NOA2 - the USCIS Processing times says they are processing August 15 but lately they are 15 behind and at the end of the month it usually jumps forward so there is hope ....

September’s are still in Case was Received status as early as September 3. I think we have another month until we start seeing traction into later September & early October.

I just want to question this,

How would he be exempt? He still has to apply for the approval to leave the country.
Im about to apply for my approval to leave the country, and the amount of ####### i have to write in it, is unbelievable.

Has anyone actually gone through this process of applying to leave australia on a k1 visa? And my next question, is has anyone been rejected?

    Hi,

Please visit department of affairs AUS. And apply for exemption. The reason “To immigrate” is an option to choose from that are acceptable reasons to leave on a one way ticket and visa approved by embassy in hand :)

    Hello

    Two questions.

    1. What is the average time to get the NOA2?  I received my NOA1 relatively quickly after submitting the paperwork.

    2.  My fiancé is Venezuelan but currently lives in Colombia.  We need to update his address but I am unsure how to.  Any guidance?

    Thanks!

    Kyle Aaron

Hi Kyle, processing times for NOA2 are 5.5-7.5 months per the USCIS site right now. So it will be awhile or longer depending on the embassy I’ve read members having a longer time because their K1’s are not being processed. Some embassies haven’t closed and processing accordingly.

I’ve asked USCIS about the address change while I was submitting for an expedite and the representative advised its OK to update this information at the NOA2 stage, while doing his DS160 Application.

  5. I have the same issue along with being an essential worker and being fully vaccinated. My dad died two weeks ago also. They denied two expedite requests back to back with all supportive documents. Even for the sake of having my partner here and grieving alone.

But you never know, it could be approved and doesn’t cost anything to try or adds delays to the processing. I’m about 6 months into the process ...I like to think they denied me because my case is close to approval. Even if it’s not true :)

I live in Norfolk VA and we have a huge military base here.  Most of the guys i know that work in military here have filipina wifes/girlfriends. Im not sure what the deal is...

Speaking for veterans, it is either a) they met while service member was overseas, and got married. (I’ve met many with Japanese spouses, Marine Corps base there) b) mutual friends of service members who are Filipino.. 😊 Very common in San Diego also. Falling inlove overseas can be so dreamy.

  7. I’ve tried again. I got a USCIS contact right away. I’ve explained I’m alone, father has just passed. I wasn’t able to provide document proof because I did not receive an email to upload so she submitted a request for me again indicating I have documents to prove  my claim. Denied in 30 minutes without opportunity to provide documents from death, funerals, etc.

    Grief is very, very hard.

My NOA 1 was on September 4th of last year. So needless to say that I'm starting to feel quite excited about the prospect of receiving my NOA 2 soon. Especially as the Sydney Embassy is being very productive and expedient with their progress.

I agree. I’m right behind ya. Fiancé and I are hoping to see movement into September’s within the next month.

If you could prove you are divorced, why couldn’t you prove you have never been married outside your own country?

Doesnt hurt anyone if the beneficiary can get official documents, but of course it’s their decision anyways.  ☺️

I see your idea behind this.
There are just SO many scenarios we are subject to..
The notarized letter is a great suggestion. It will be easier. Some court, local offices may not be as available. And also for example, the State of Florida can say “we have no records” but someone can have records in another state where they were married. Domestically it’s still may not be enough (to me personally). Notary statement holds more weight I feel.

    Good luck!

Yes, noted.  I'm hoping due to the island location, lack of cases, and the reason requested for travel, I may be able to make it work out okay.  Thank you!

I'm trying to get him to gather information before the interview as well so he has all he needs to ask the right questions about travel for himself and see if they can get out as well.  Since it is a few months off still, I'm hoping there may be some change for the better.... HOPING...

Your fiancé’s family will have to request exemptions to travel. Your fiancé is exempt and will be able to leave on a one way ticket.

Your fiancé’s family will be subject to local quarantine orders should they visit the US and go back to AUS.

I wouldn’t wait for AUS local laws to change to get your fiancé here and have a ceremony. My fiancé and myself will visit Australia later and have a party then. Totally normal these days. Goodluck.

  11. I liked using a lawyer. Was less than $1k. I’m a busy industry professional. I wanted this to go as professionally as possible with government forms. All information is available to do on your own as others have said. My decision was made for convenience, if I have a question I know right away and assisted me when it came to be a representative to request certain public records for me because I couldn’t do them in my local jurisdiction. That was a benefit. For sure.

  12. Hi there, I figured I would add positive information I’ve inquired on on the behalf of my fiancé who lives in Australia.

I asked Sydney Embassy if there are any delays with appointments. Response below:

Public Response:   Thank you for your inquiry.

Yes we are able to schedule K1 visa applicants. There are currently many appointments available.

As this point, once the case is received in our office, we are able to schedule an appointment within 10 business days.

    Thank you,

    Immigrant Visa Unit
    U.S. Consulate General, Sydney

Good luck to those upcoming on their NOA2s soon

Hello, wow congratulations to you and your fiancé. I hope you’ve already been reunited with your fiancé and able to help with the grieving process. I just came across your post and I am also considering applying but not sure the best way to convey. Would you be willing to share how you applied for the expedite? Did you have a therapist or doctor’s note or  did you write your own statement?

thank you for your consideration to help!

I also would like to know more on the expedite. My father passed away. I submitted a request but it was denied.
