Woodpecker07 reacted to kksy in July 2020 AOS Filers
EAD processing time is really horrible nowadays. AOS applicants can expect to wait 4 - 9 months before they can start working!

We're in the same boat (my husband is the beneficiary, I'm the sponsor). We called and called USCIS to get the service request or biometrics expedited and the only person we were able to speak with said it's not even worth trying because it's been already 5 months in and the general timeframe is 5.5 to 7.5 months. We mentioned the potential loss of job offer but he didn't take it at all. I wonder how other people really cracked through and get it expedited...

Very simple.
1. Call USCIS or chat to an agent through Emma (I chose to do it through Emma) and request to expedite your EAD. They will give you a Referral number. (It’s like a receipt # but for requests)
2. Wait for an email from USCIS requesting proof for the expedite. You should get this email within 5 days of initiating the expedite request. The email will include the Info on who to send the proof to (Fax #, Division # etc.) Don’t forget to include a cover letter!
3. Nothing else! Just wait until you receive another email with a case status of approval/denial. This can take up to 30 days but in my case it took 1 day!
This whole process took 6 days total for me

My EAD expedite request got approved TODAY!! Insanely fast considering I requested it 6 days ago and literally faxed my job offer yesterday in the afternoon. USCIS are working hard!

Woodpecker07 reacted to Linnn in Milwaukee interview rescheduled ?
Update: I just received my biometrics appointment after my inquiry in October! 🎉🙏🏼

I really hope this is my biometrics appointment.

Woodpecker07 reacted to Linnn in Milwaukee interview rescheduled ?
Update from my side:
EAD received in September.
Everything else has been radio silent (travel card, aos) no word on the interview either. Case still says "evidence received" and that's over 140 days ago 🤣

Hi,
I received my SSN about 10 days after receiving combo card.
I selected "Yes" in the I-765 application to receiving a new SSN.
I had read here, in VJ, that the inter-agency processes (USCIS>SSA) don't always work. So, just because we check that box in the I-765 doesn't mean a guaranteed SSN.
So, after reading that, after I received the combo card I rang SSA (see their contact us page for ph #) - just to check that they have received my details for a new SSN.
You might want to try the same to make sure your SSN is on its way.

Yes, we’re still waiting, our packet was received June 5, we contacted USCIS multiple times since October and still nothing.
I’m seeing people on CR, F or H visas getting biometrics.
Maybe let’s ask this: June filers with K (fiancé) visas living in Democratic states, have you gotten your biometrics appointment yet?

Any filers from June STILL waiting for biometrics? We're still waiting here, multiple inquiries later, with no word from the USCIS.

Literally crying with frustration. FINALLY receive my biometrics appointment notice today and it is for the service center for my old address in New Jersey. I moved from New Jersey to Florida at the end of October, submitted my change of address. Got email confirmation from USCIS that it had gone through and even double checked it with a Tier 2 at the start of November who confirmed that my new address was in the system.
Spoke to a a Tier 1 just now and they said my options are to go to the current appointment, or to reschedule, but if I reschedule I go back into the system and a new appointment would be at the discretion of the new field office. Requested a call back from a tier 2 officer to see if there is anything that they can do, but already resigned to the fact that I'm probably going to have to be fly to New Jersey for my appointment.
There really is no end to the ineptitude of USCIS.

Has anyone been able to expedite the biometric but not because they're about to lose a job offer? I was wondering if I can request so I can get my biometric and move forward with the process but I don't have any pending job offers. I'm wondering what type of reasons they would accept.

She was very stern in saying they cannot promise a timeline. She kept on repeating that. This is basically saying the expedite request did not mean anything. I can sense that she wanted to end the call. No empathy at all; it appears that the call was just to check a box on a task list.

I filed for an expedite on 10/22. No results as of today. I already missed the 12/11 deadline on my job offer. Exasperated is an understatement in describing how I feel right now.

Updating info gathering info from our WI FB group:
- Biometrics: No more appointment notices since october (for an April filer). Filers from May, June, July, August, etc... still (annoyingly) waiting for our appoitnments😤. A May filer esclated case some weeks ago and got an appointment this month.👌
- Interviews: Scheduling for February and March filers. At least they are moving with interviews.😀
Good luck everybody!

I also did not know this before, but I found the thread from this portal.
I got CODE 2 which the ASC/CIS Manager said it was an error, so they helped me changed it to a CODE 3 because I had these i485,765 &131 forms submitted for bio.
The code 2 means biometrics for i485, i765 only
Code 3 means biometrics for i485, i765 & i131.....which is what we need, but they've randomly been sending out Code 2.
Except you want to go twice for bio appointment, call ahead for change or seek for help on you appointment day
Summary of codes below:

What is the difference between the CODE 2 AND CODE 3 and how does it affect the EAD ?

Woodpecker07 reacted to KAP2019 in June 2020 AOS Filers
My husband and I had a congress person inquire with USCIS about our case status.
Just got a generic response about awaiting biometrics...which will be scheduled in order of availability, etc.
Have a pending service request...
Waiting, waiting....Someday I'd like to work again. I've been unemployed for over a year now. Unemployed nurse in a pandemic--GREAT!

Call the customer service line (800) 375-5283 and ask a Tier 1 agent to speak to a Tier 2 agent. The Tier 1 agent will then schedule you a call back from a Tier 2 agent who will call you within 7 days. I'd recommend calling in the morning as it's easier to get past the robot system and the wait times are usually shorter.

Hello! I'm in the same situation. They received my application for AOS in June and I still wait for my appointment for biometrics and my 1-131 was already out of normal processing time and sent a case query, however I had no answer. How did you communicate with a second-level agent? Any advice I can give me will help me a lot. Thank you
-
Woodpecker07 reacted to Blanca&Ivan in June 2020 AOS Filers
Hi! Excuse me, how did you manage to speak to a second level officer?
They received my AOS application in June and I still don't have my biometrics appointment. And obviously I have not received my AP and EAP either.
Could you help me or give me some advice. I really appreciate it.

I still have not received my biometrics letter, it has been over 90 days. What can I do? Is there any form that I can fill out or do I have to call and get through to Tier2 agent?

I applied in July and still waiting for biometrics. Sent a service request, they sent me a generic response they send to everyone. This sucks
