  1. My husband completed his interview this morning and was approved!

Only asked for his birth certificate, marriage certificate, 2021 tax transcript (this was not uploaded online as we completed our document approval for the year before).

    Questions asked:

    Who is the petitioner?

    When did you get married?

    Describe your wedding?

    What does your wife do?

    Confirm addresses.

Said it took maybe 30 minutes total.

Finally glad it's almost almost over!

If you know of people with later DQs than you having received ILs, I recommend you email NVC and Montreal, so they don’t miss you again in the next round.

I sent an email yesterday. Definitely feeling a little defeated knowing everyone else got one. :(

Our case was reviewed and all documents were accepted, however I (American) have to show proof of domicile in the U.S. Once that proof is uploaded, does anyone know how long that can take to be reviewed and accepted so we are DQ'd?

The timeline starts over as a new submission date. So it takes about 2-4 months for them to review the new document. I had to upload a tax form and it took about 3 months.

We received a notice from the NVC that they've updated our case. Everything no longer says "submitted" but "accepted". woohoo!! It did also send a message saying  I(the petitioner)  might not have a principal residence or be domiciled in the United States. Please submit proof of domicile. Does this mean when we submit more proof that we have to wait another few months for those documents to be reviewed? Or are we secure in our spot? is our current situation considered us to be DQ'd?

Others could comment but you will know you are DQ'd when you get an email confirmation.

Long story short, I didn't file my 2020 taxes because I married a Canadian, I lost my job, and my house burned down in a wildfire (quite the year!). This made my taxes very complex and I filed with H&R block (who took forever). I did not have renter's insurance so I was able to claim everything I lost in the fire for my taxes under casualty loss, which meant I got a refund. When you get a refund, apparently there's no such thing as being "late" on your taxes, only when you owe the government.

Once I submit my updated I-864, how long would it be before I get an interview scheduled? Is it another 10 months? 🥺

Think of resubmission as the new priority date for when your case will be reviewed. This may be 3-4 months and then wait for your interview letter.

Yeah we did submit them immediately. But that was so arbitrary of them, feels like they could come up with some more random unrequired stuff in 80 days or so

Sorry for bumping this post again, but I had to do something similar. How much longer did you have to wait until DQ? I see mixed results on how long of a delay this may add to your original priority date.

My original submission was mid November. Submitted new docs Jan 7.

How long is everyone's delay? Is it true that your new priority date is the resubmission date?!

I am afraid that may be what is called a checklist. Once you submit the missing documents, you are put at the back of the line. I think they treat that date as the new submission date.

Aw man is that confirmed? Technically it looked like they were looking at my case early anyways based on the case log on their website. They're looking at September cases but my date was mid November

  8. I sent my SO the link of where our application is at NVC and we may get movement by December or January. He responded if this was when he can interview, when I said no, he felt so defeated. Like I've been the one doing almost all of the process and it's kind of upsetting that he brings so much negative energy about it. Sigh. I'm just ranting here and super thankful for all of your updates as it means I can better plan for when we will have good news. Here's to hoping a spring interview (that is if we have great movement on the spreadsheet!)

In addition to the vaccine record or titers test, some of the immigration doctors require you have a medical professional "validate" the record by completing and signing a form. If required, this needs to be done prior to the medical and sent to the clinic in advance. At least in the case of Dr. Mascarenhas, the form was downloadable from their website, and you can fill it out anytime before your medical. https://www.visadoctor.ca/en/us-medical

    Thanks so much! Saving!

You need the vaccination record before the medical exam. It's a required part of the medical. I ordered mine a long time ago. If you can't find or access your vaccination record, you can also get a titers blood test which will show if you have antibodies to the diseases, which shows past immunization.

Hm ok guess I got confused about this extra form from the medical exam

I was able to get it online from the Alberta Public Health Agency with my old health number and birthdate. The travel clinic was also able to see my record online in the government database. I sent in a scan of my government record and asked Dr. Mascarenhas's office if that would suffice in lieu of the form, and they said no you must have a doctor complete the vaccination form itself.

Do you think someone would be able to get the vaccination form before the medical exam? Or should we wait until the medical exam after we get the interview letter?
