His latest essay on Substack shows that even while he has gained a reputation of late for telling it as it is, his perspective on broader U.S.–Russia issues is still blinkered, leading him to some odd, though characteristic, conclusions that ignore the nature of the Russian regime. He downplays the seriousness of the cyberattack, says that the alarm is a product of intelligence community lies, and writes that it’s nothing abnormal because the United States does the same things.
Of course, people with knowledge of the situation would disagree that it’s something to be brushed off. Here’s a brief, though incomplete, summary of the damage from the Wall Street Journal:
The hacking operation exposed as many as hundreds of thousands of government and corporate networks to potential risk and alarmed national-security officials in the Trump administration as well as executives at FireEye, some of whom view it as far more significant than a routine case of foreign cyber espionage, people familiar with the matter said.
While those familiar with the hack couldn’t precisely specify its scope or the resulting damage to the U.S. government, several described it as among the most potentially worrisome cyberattacks in years, because it may have allowed Russia to access sensitive information from government agencies, defense contractors and other industries. One person familiar with the matter said the campaign was a “10” on a scale of one to 10, in terms of its likely severity and national-security implications.
 

My job is giving everyone an appointment to get it with specific dates and times over a two week period (Dec 28 - Jan 4.) I'm not sure what they plan to do about people who are out with side effects. 

We have a staff of 3600. Everyone was required to have the vaccine prior to a scheduled day off to prevent a logistical nightmare. The first round was relatively trivial and very few people had to miss any additional time. Personally, I am glad I had the next day off, and I did have minor side effects for a few days. I am actually not looking forward to the second dose now, as I've heard the side effects tend to be worse with that one.

Not excusing any greebly behavior on the part of men, but some of us actually like the t-shirt, sweat pants and messy hair look. 

Getting the Moderna vaccine either next week or the week after (I'm a healthcare worker.) I should be fully vaccinated by the first week of February. I'm so happy that travel is within my reach again.

Really though, even fiscal conservatives should want more money going out to American people and businesses. We are going to come out of this with massive debt at almost all levels of society. In this type of situation, given the options, it's actually a better thing for the federal government to assume more of that debt over individuals. It's the only chance we have for the economy to actually recover (without taking forever). The economy as a whole can't recover if every part of it is left to oblivion. Hard to even come up with what some of these people in congress are thinking. 
 
   

They shut everything down, ask people to stay home, sacrifice, watch people die, and then support people through all that with enough money to buy a 3 month supply of noodles. Jesus, it's almost Christmas and now I feel like smacking someone.  Damn it!
