Hi there! The designated USCIS field office for the wifey’s AOS is in San Bernardino, CA and we received the following alert yesterday 4-13-2021 morning around 10am PST (see attached image):

We hope to receive the actual interview letter in the next few business days to find out the exact date of our interview. It looks like interviews are slowly being assigned.

    Good luck to all!

Ok guys....here it some great news for all April 2020 AOS Filers:

My wifey’s card status changed today to “New Card Being Produced”. It changed just moments ago (at about 5pm PST). Status went from “Case was updated to show Fingerprints were taken and applied to case” to “New Card Being Produced”. The advance parole application still says “Case was updated to show Fingerprints were taken”. We will wait to see if it comes as a Combo Card but I am fairly confident that it will 😄. I filed on March 28th, 2020 and USCIS Received our case (NOA date of) April 1st, 2020. Thus it looks like we are the 1st April 2020 filers to get approved without any expedite request.
I will keep you all posted to confirm that it is indeed a combo card once we receive it. Good luck and I hope that this paves the way for April EAD/AP approvals!!

    Hi everyone,

So here is another update for you guys. Today around 2:30pm PST the case Status‘ on both the EAD as well as on the AP went to “Case has been Approved” and a letter will be mailed out to you. Then again today at 5pm PST the status on the EAD changed again to “Card was mailed to me”.

    That's great news!

My priority date is April 3rd and I haven't even recieved the Biometrics appointment yet

I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope that you get your biometrics appointment soon. Have you tried calling? If not, call and ask to be transferred to a tier 2 agent. I’ve heard that NYC is a little back up in scheduling biometric appointments. Good luck and please let us know what happens with your case.

PD April 10th, did biometric for i 765 and i 485 on August 12 (Code 3), then I 131 on August 26 (Code 2). Both I765 and I 131 have updated to say fingerprints have been applied. I 485 is now "ready to schedule interview".

Waiting patiently for AP so I can return to Canada to settle some affairs. This is very stressful. I hope it's worth it for each of you. Not being able to use your passport for several months and having it be at the mercy of a company with little transparency is infinitely frustrating.

Anyone with similar timeline getting their card? In California, filed with NBC.

    Hi there,

Please feel free to monitor our timeline as it is about 10 days later before yours PD April 1st, 2020 and we are still waiting on the Combo card. Good luck and I hope that you receive your combo card soon.

Hi, I had my biometrics appointment this morning at 8:00am at ASC Tustin, CA, so wanted to share my experience . I went 20minutes early and waited for them to open and there were 2 other people waiting outside behind me. They started letting us in about 7:55 and everything was so quick I was out by 8:01! It was so quick that when I went back into the car my husband thought they returned me for missing documents or something 😂 I’m hoping my status will change to card produced/mailed this week 🤞🏼

Awesome! We hope that you have your card created this week and that you receive your card soon! 🙂

Yay a little update on our case:

    Did bio august 6th

Case updated to show fingerprints aug 7th

Ready to be scheduled for an interview Aug 10th

I wonder how long it'll  actually take. Checked our office's processing times and it says about 9-35 months :( but oh well at least there's some progress

After playing around with the processing times for each local USCIS field office for the i-485 form I noticed that just about all of them across the board have the exact same date range of 9-36 months and that this happened right after the furloughs were announced. As such, these don’t seem to be accurate processing times and thus USCIS probably just changed them throughout the system just to play it safe. Our particular field office before this change had practically only a 4-5 month wait.

  8. Hi there,

There is also another point that I would like to bring up regarding going the K-1 Visa route versus the IR1/CR1 choice. I’m not sure how this holds true nowadays but before and based on experience from many previous filers, there was somewhat less scrutiny from both the US Department of State as well as from USCIS in regards to proving a bona fide marriage when doing the K-1 Visa and then after filing for the AOS as opposed to filing the I-130 and then applying for the IR1/CR1. I guess the logic behind this was that there weren’t any more roadblocks once the IR1/CR1 was approved thus providing a straight road towards permanent residency with no more detours after going through that last hurdle. This is why the adjudicators at the US Embassies tend to be more strict with that process vs the K-1. With the fiancé/fiancée Visa the US Embassy personnel might not become as strict since they figure that USCIS will be the ones to perform the more extensive investigation once you file for AOS.

I hope that this is helpful and provides you with another insight towards making the choice that works best for your particular scenario/journey.

Good luck and stay safe and healthy out there 😊
