VA21202 got a reaction from LMIV in Montreal embassy EB-2 interview wait time-Part 2
No worries about May, looks like they are catching up folks! June 10, 2020 DQ and I just got my IL! Thank God! Interview Scheduled for October 18 in MTL. Thanks everyone for your support and keeping this thread going, based on the post above, looks like MTL is finally going to leapfrog on EBs and clear the backlog pretty soon. Best of luck to all!
P.S. CEAC status still at NVC, IL received at 10:18pm PST.

Amazing! Thanks so much for that update! Indeed you have waited a long time like most of us, I’m really glad to hear everything went well! Thanks for the awesome detailed experience. I also believe that we’ll have a big surge in EB ILs in the coming months, let’s hope no one has to wait 2.5 years for interviews moving ahead. Thanks and enjoy 😃

Interview: end of July 2022
My wife and I got to the consulate early in the morning before it opened. We were instructed to wait outside by a guard for the building. Eventually more people arrived and lined up behind us. After the consulate opened we were asked to come in based on the time of our interview. We did not take any electronics or a bag of any kind, just a folder with our documents. There is a locker for small items like a cellphone if needed, but we had left ours in the car. Our folder and personal items were placed in a bin and scanned like at an airport and we were handed a paper with a number. We then went up an elevator to the interview area. We were eventually called up. The first officer asked for our passports, police checks, original birth and marriage certificates. Eventually he asked for our passport photos and scanned them in. Also asked us about our address in the US. He then asked us to go sit down. We were then called by a second officer who asked us a couple more questions and said he intended to approve us and that we would receive our passports within 2 weeks. CEAC status changed to issued - final processing a few hours after our interview. We received our passports on the 3rd business day after the interview along with a large packet that said "DO NOT OPEN". We traveled via a major airport the same day we received our passports. CBP did not give us any issues, we were taken into secondary processing where they confirmed our address again and stamped our passports. Glad to be done with this whole ordeal.

Hi all, we too received our long awaited IL this morning for Sept. 23! I'm in the process now of trying to book medicals asap as we are scheduled to fly out on the 13th to start school in the states on the 15th...really hoping we can be squeezed in so we can just fly back up for the interview. 🤞🤞
Congrats @topman Hoping we hear of more IL's in the batch!!

@LMIV Please keep us posted if you hear anything this week.
I just looked at the EB tracker spreadsheet, and it looks like days to interview letter is estimated to be now 856 days (if you get interview this week). It will be the longest wait until now - 2 years and 4 months!

The number for E cat for June just came out and unsurprisingly, it is disappointing...

You might be looking for IR/CR forum: Seems like it’s a 1-2 month waiting time from DQ to IL being issued these days so you’re not that far off if it’s IR/CR. This forum is an Employment Based forum where the wait is more than 2 years. Please see IR/CR forum and tracker below:

VA21202 got a reaction from newbie75 in Montreal embassy EB-2 interview wait time
Hi, lawyers have advised that it’s not an issue on either process. For CP, I’ll just need to travel to Montreal and attend the medicals and interview whenever it gets scheduled one of these years And for AOS, same thing, there isn’t really a requirement that you cannot leave the country at all. As long as the primary (and in this case me as secondary) applicant have a valid visa (H/L etc.) we are able to travel. The only requirement is that while the AOS (I-485) is being submitted, the applicants need to be in the US at that time of filing. If you have an Advance Parole application filed along with the AOS, that AP application alone gets canceled once you travel outside but it has no impact on AOS (I-485) + EAD (I-765). Given that we have valid stamps of H/L, we are hopeful to travel for the interview (assuming the interview at MTL arrives before our AOS Green Card). This is my understanding based on our lawyers, hope it helps!
To your question: Primary AOS is in US and Primary CP is also in US (used to be in Canada earlier at the time of filing for CP)

Thank you! We did get our criminal check done (for the 4th time) just to ensure that we did not have any problems. Also job an updated employment letter (which they did ask for). We picked up our passports on Monday along with the big file that I mentioned above (which says do not open!). We are not planning on leaving until October, because we have to get all of financials in order before we leave Canada. My thoughts are with everyone who is still waiting for an interview!
