    Hi Elle53,

What other reason did you give besides you have no income? Based on what I read, that alone is insufficient so I'm wondering if you included other information.

I just got a job offer too but my EAD is still "case was received" (biometrics on Dec 22), super strange.

    Thanks

Same. I had my bio appointment last Dec 18 and I've seen others here who had theirs in January receive their EAD already.

    Is it legit? -

Legit as in, yes, they will get all your info, fill out the form for you and send it to the IRS while charging you a bunch of money for something you can do yourself?

Sure, it seams as legit as RapidVisa.... doesn't mean someone should use them.

It took me all of about 3 minutes when I filled out the ITIN application for my wife.

Thanks. I figured it was a service as it asked for payment. How did you apply for your wife's ITIN? I checked IRS website and it says to submit it to any of their offices/ agency partners.

I was in the same situation: had chickenpox as a child but no paperwork to prove it. Surgeon told me he believed me but that it was his signature on the line so I'd either get the vaccine or the antibody test. I got the vaccine on the spot because it was faster/cheaper.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I don't have any of my childhood vaccines anymore as we moved when I was a kid. If there is no side effect/s, I would prefer to just take the vaccine and get it over with.

read this site as this tax consultant explains you need to have a ITIN (if you do not have a SS #) unless you fall into certain categories which are explained

Hi, I clicked the link and it says that you can apply for an ITIN via this website. Is this legit?

Hey! I'm curious why you think that your interview will be scheduled so long ago when the status is now "case is ready to be scheduled for interview?"

I know COVID led to a lot of delays.. but was curious why you think it's that long. It sucks to know :( I'm also a July flier but in the NYC field office.

Also, did you submit i-693 along with your application?

    Thanks!

You can check it on USCIS: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

Brooklyn's processing time is 18-38 months. That's why I prefer to have my EAD and AP approved ASAP instead so I can work and travel back home even without the green card.

I am adjusting from tourist visa and I'm planning to have my medical exam taken probably after 1 year of my submission since it expires. I will keep on checking the processing times to see if it changes and will adjust my medical schedule as I see fit.

Did you apply for EAD and AP as well?

My husband and I met up in cancun when we were waiting for his K1.   He was coming from Romania, his flight was thru mexico city and he was detained.  It took some time for him to get thru due to the language barrier.  He was told that because he was single and bought a ticket at the last minute they wanted to make sure he wasn't planning on staying and that he had a return ticket.  His sister met up with us on a holiday to cancun a few years ago and she also flew from Romania thru Mexico city and was detained there too for even longer for the same reason.  I'm not sure its that unusual.

Wow. Must have been scary. Glad everything worked out well for you all!

I did my biometrics on Dec 22 and there hasn't been any status update yet. Should I be concerned??

Also curious how many people already have their EAD approved. Lawfully seems to imply most people should've gotten it but visajourney paints a different story.

I did mine on Dec 18th and after the "ready for interview to be scheduled" update, no other news on my I-765 :(

We've always read from previous posts about not having any cell phone inside USCIS office, so we always went that route and decided not to bring them on.  Yet at the same time, I did see some people waiting on their phones.  Maybe each place is different?  I like to avoid drama and not have electronics on me like that.

When I went to Brooklyn ASC for fingerprints, I had my cellphone with me. I just had it on silent mode and never took it out of my bag. There were posters everywhere in the office saying cellphones are not allowed to be used inside but I guess you can bring it with you. But if you have a car, just leave it there, it's just going to be a few minutes anyway. I can't leave my phone at home as I needed Google maps to get home since I am not familiar with that area of Brooklyn yet :)
