The way I read that, and remember I'm a Social Worker who understands systems and not an attorney, is those instructions serve as the "appointment letter" to schedule a new medical & you should deal with the DS online. Sign into your portal and see if maybe it's already unlocked?

The courier bit in this letter is just form letter inclusion garbage--not personal.

Okay makes sense. No it’s not unlocked because I can’t edit it.

I searched the forum and it looks like requesting the consulate unlock your DS-260 online is a way to update it.

Can you post your instructions letter here?

    Hey, yes!

    Consular Section Comments:

    Dear Applicant:

Our review of the case confirms that the following documents have regrettably expired and require renewal:

    1. New medical examination report (please bring this message to the Panel Physician)
    2. Update your DS-260 online application form

If you wish to proceed with your immigration to the United States, please submit your documents via courier, per the instructions available here: https://ais.usvisa-info.com. Upon our receipt and review of the new documents, we will contact you with further instructions.

If we receive no new documents from you, your visa application will remain refused per Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

If you fail to take the action requested within one year following visa denial under Section 221(g), the Section 203(g) of the INA will require termination of the petition on which your visa application was based.

Hi Everyone. Finally after our waiver was approved in September 2021, the consulate finally asked for my passport in January 2022. I submitted and the still refused because my documents are all expired since my interview was in March 2021. So they are asking for an updated DS-260 and medical. I can’t book a medical because they didn’t activate my e-medical portal and waiting for that. To update ds-260, is it just doing the form again? They said courier documents but didn’t specify. Does anyone know what I should so or has gone through something similar?

  5. Hi, I thought maybe someone can help

me. I had my interview in March 2021 and was refused because of removal order due to improper documentation. So I submitted I-212 Waiver Application in May 2021 and it’s been approved as of  September 2021. I have already inquired via email. How long does it usually take them to give instructions for the next steps?

Hello, just wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as me and looking for guidance, I apologize if this information is somewhere obvious and maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

I had my first interview March 2020 and was denied. Had to file i-601 and it just got approved. Does anyone know what happens next?

Did they tell you at interview that you needed to file an i601?

Congrats on that! So you upgraded your request from an F2A to a IR1/CR1? I mistakingly thought the IR1/CR1 was for both US citizens and PRs, but I got corrected :)

Hope all the best for you and your husband in getting an interview soon.

Yes we sent in the naturalization certificate and it got upgraded to CR1 and after our two year anniversary in August it automatically changed to IR1. Yes I hope so! I haven’t seen him since January 2020 and my DQ was June 4, 2020. So, just trying to stay sane and patient. 🥺

You should receive an email from NVC once your documents have been qualified. Yes, the status will change from submitted to accepted. If some docs are accepted and some are not, it likely means you will receive a RFE

My case category is spousal visa. There seems to be no pattern to how the NVC is working since it seems people with Feb submission (like you) are still waiting. I guess you should just sit tight for now. All embassies are still closed until further notice so even if you get DQ'ed today, you can't go in for an interview. It's still a waiting game.

I guess you are right! Lol but it’s been 12 weeks and it would just nice to be ready for the next step.

    Just received DQ email -

First submitted the AOS documents on March 25th. Waited for a good 2 weeks before we submitted the civil docs because we weren't able to get the police certificates so we uploaded an explanation in it's place:

Seems this is acceptable, hence we received the DQ and to wait till the embassy is open to schedule the interview.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting!

I just checked mine it says submitted, so it should change to accepted once it’s DQed.

What is your case category? I am wondering if that affects the DQ because my date of submission is Feb 20, 2020

We also submitted on Feb 28 and nothing. We received an email from them last week that they opened our case but they can’t review it because we didn’t submit everything whereas they accepted all documents on December and they’re only asking for W2 which we submitted on Feb so we got confused.

We called them and they said ignore the email and message as it is a system error.

And everytime we asked about our case, they always say they’re still reviewing Feb 14 and no access to cases submitted on later dates.

That is so strange. I remember issues like this when a family member had to mail documents. They would say something was missing when it wasn’t. I thought everything being electronic should be a smoother process. Still waiting to see! Goodluck!

  11. Hi All!

I am waiting for DQ. I am seeing that some people around or even after my date are getting their DQ. I’m still F2A. My husbands oath ceremony got de-scheduled in March because of COVID and so I am still not a Immediate relative. Does the category affect the processing of the documents submitted to NVC?

    My PD: August 29 2019

NVC document submission: Feb 20, 2020

Also, I called about NVC regarding the reviewing time frame date only moving 2 days in the last 2 weeks and she said it was just because of reduced staff.
