AKKH got a reaction from Marcela&Melvin in "NVC cannot review your submitted documents..." Review Note
I remember I received this message too, they sent it after I uploaded the civil docs. Im not sure why. Basically it is a reminder that you need to upload everything (financial and civil docs) before they review your case. So if everything is uploaded correctly, just sit back and wait.
That’s what we did and they reviewed everything and it went well.
Good luck!

AKKH got a reaction from yeezydm in HELP! Passport arrived and has a typo in last name
UPDATE: I still didn't get my NC (documents), but I couldn't be more patient today!
So I gave them a call, I had to select wrong options to speak with someone, they don't an option to talk in general. Anyway, a lady picked up, she told me you should wait more, it could take longer, but they don't know how much longer, and they don't know where the documents are, and what I do if I don't get them soon. WHAT A SYSTEM!
Anyway I asked what the options are if I'm leaving the country soon. She said you may have 2 options:
If you are traveling now, talk with the airline and see if you can show them another document (which I have none!) to prove your correct name along with the wrong passport 😐 (I don't know how realistic they'd think about that) We can schedule an appointment 2 weeks before you travel (let's say if I travel on March 15th, I should call on March 2nd) and we will correct the error and give you the new passport and your documents So I'm going to wait until I am really tired of waiting OR maybe I get the docs, I'm really planning to travel to visit my wife soon (in a couple of month).
I will update you on this weird situation.

AKKH got a reaction from yeezydm in Upgrading F2A to IR1 Visa Questions
Hi you all!
I am scheduled to attend the oath ceremony on Dec 8th. However, we have been waiting for my wife's F2A visa interview in Beirut, Lebanon. I'm aware that I can fill out the form on NVC and send my naturalization certificate to upgrade my visa class to IR1.
My questions:
1) Let's assume I submit the form on Dec 8th. How long does it take for upgrade?
2) My wife's DQ date was on June 2020, does that qualify my case to expedite my visa? Should I expedite after I receive the confirmation from NVC or can I just write something in the same form? I applied for expedition in the past, but NVC replied that embassy cannot approve it because it's not fair to other applicants, though I see they're issuing 20-30 visas for IR1 and CR1 and only 3-10 visas for F2A per month.
3) How late/soon could I receive an interview letter from NVC/embassy? This question is for people who did this (it'd be helpful to figure out when to expect anything from them after 1.5 year of waiting from NVC). Obviously, we don't want to slow down our process, and want to see our options. If anyone has any experience in the COVID/post-COVID era, please let me know!
Thank you for your help!

AKKH got a reaction from Mike E in Got passport; how long to receive naturalization cert back?
Hi. Yes, took about 6-8 weeks after receiving my passport (8-10 weeks). Came in an yellow-brown envelope and does not show up in USPS

AKKH reacted to Ayc610 in Upgrading F2A to IR1 Visa Questions
Just an update on my case - we contacted NVC to upgrade our case to IR1 in late February and received a response in mid-April (which was in line with their processing time posted on the website) confirming the upgrade. Today, I received an interview invite for June 1, 2022, which is quite a bit faster than I had expected. Wanted to share my experience/timeline in case it is helpful for anyone. Fingers crossed and good luck all.

AKKH got a reaction from Chancy in Which visa while waiting for spouse visa?
When we were talking about immigration with my wife, we were saying 2 years. And we were fine with that, as I had to stay here, establish residency, find a job, and make a living for her and me before she enters.
Imagine entering a country and not having any financial support, wouldn’t that be panicking and problematic? Unless you do have someone who would be willing to sponsor you.
We said we would wait roughly 2 years, and we went through non-immigrant visa options, but were advised against that. So we didn’t bother doing it.
We didn’t wait 2 years, we had to wait 4 years, it was hard, heartbreaking, but now, we are so happy and I think it was well worth it.
So If your husband is able to meet you during the process, it is great, otherwise he will have to prove his residency and US domicile and it takes time, unfortunately.
At this time, the sooner he applies, the sooner you guys can immigrate to the US. Meanwhile for the distance problem, after he finds a job and is able to prove it, if he could work remotely then you can see each other more often.
I would suggest you reading stories and timelines.
Best wishes for all!

AKKH got a reaction from Chancy in Covid vaccine
Covid-19 is one of the requirements that you have to receive in your medical exam appointment. And medical exam with successful outcome is required prior your visa interview at the US embassy.
Unless the vaccine is not available or you cannot take it due to medical reasons, you will need to get it.

AKKH got a reaction from Needhelpme in Upgrading F2A to IR1 Visa Questions
Of course!
She's still not interviewed yet. The interview is scheduled on 4/7/2022. So we are not sure when she gets the visa and we have not planned to buy the tickets just yet.
Priority date is not important really, if you are upgrading your visa. What matters is your I-130 gets approved first. And then it'll be forwarded to NVC. They will take care of collecting fees & documents and put you in a queue for an interview. You may check the timelines to figure out the timing for I-130.
It would be faster assuming your visa category upgrades to IR1.

AKKH reacted to Wuozopo in I 864 part 6 question 7 and 28 for self-employment
The total income line is what they use for everybody. But if one can show evidence of a higher current income with an employer letter or pay stubs, they can claim more on their I-864 current income field. Maybe they got a big raise, new job, or just worked part of the year after college graduation so not reflected on the tax return. Self employed have no “employer” and don’t get traditional paychecks for proving more. With your ability to take business deductions on Schedule C and the variability of what gigs you will get, your total income line isn’t really final until the tax year ends.
If you are over the threshold, that should do for qualifying. You can’t get more approved with triple the threshold. It should be a black and white decision. Over or under. If you feel the need to sweeten the pot, then add your assets and those of your immigrant spouse. On our I-864, my spouse listed no assets even though she had a lot. She was over the threshold on the tax return so it was sufficient.
