How bad is it? Is it a letter off or a completely different name? Does it match what you filled in on the I-129F? Did you hand-fill the entries or did you type it in? At the interview, they will expect the interviewee's name to march the DS-160, passport and birth certificate. If there is a mismatch between the BC and Passport, Passport name take precedence.

Depends on her ties to her country, being accepted at a qualifying school, and having finances to support herself and tuition.

In need of help (merged)
SteveInBostonI130 replied to Charlie2009's topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration
That is not how immigration works. Please read the spouse visa guides and act. Get married, meet and file the I-130. Or just sit around for another year and ask the same questions and get the same answers. -
In this case, your husband has to submit and I-130 for each child. Therefore, 4 total I-130s (one for you and 3 for your children). Your husband can request USCIS expedites for the 3 I-130s, explaining the situation. It may or may not be granted, but he definitely should try. He should reference your I-130 receipt number. You may also want to delay your interview. You or your husband can contact NVC to wait for your children's cases and process them together.

Regarding Police cerficates
SteveInBostonI130 replied to LucindaLou's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
US and Pakistan do not require police certs. Not for US because they do not have a national police cert, and USCIS/DOS can run background checks with DOJ. Not Pakistan because police certs are unreliable. -
Driver could have marked it delivered when he pulled into the parking lot and scanned the packages to be dropped off. When he went to the door and saw the place was closed, he may have taken the packages back to the truck to be delivered on Monday. At least, that's what I see when the FedEx/UPS truck arrives at our office. I see the guy go to the back, get the packages to be dropped off, scan them on his hand-held, and then bring the packages. A few times I see them bring packages to outside the door and then scan them before ringing the doorbell.

Administrative processing. It has no timeline ans cannot be expedited. If your post is correct and you have been waiting 1 yr and 5 months from your initial interview (January 2022), then AP may be mostly done. I would email the embassy and ask about your case - ask if they received your new medical from Feb 22, 2023.

After the I-130 your case proceeds to the NVC stage. There you pay 2 fees and submit more documents online. After you complete your NVC submittals, it takes an average of 1-3 months to get DQ'd, then 1-2 months to get scheduled for an interview, which will be about a month later. So, about 3-6 months for the interview AFTER you complete the NVC steps. Therefore, you have control of your timing. You can take a week or so to pay and submit all documents to NVC, or a few months, or even a year. Wait until 6 months from your potential move date and finish all submittals to the NVC.

Normally, no. But if USCIS looses your case or takes an abnormally long time to approve, it may be needed to locate your file or used to expedite a new I-129F. It is recommended to hold onto all correspondence for "just in case" scenarios.

It's the opposite of a scam. The agency is refusing to take the money to apply for the B2.

NVC how to change interview location
SteveInBostonI130 replied to Alix19's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
No. You will need a new case number. The first 3 letters are for the consulate Because of the venue change, NVC will assign a new case number. -
IR1 approved
SteveInBostonI130 replied to Margo2017777's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
You need to enter the visa information printed on the passport in order to pay the immigration fee. It can be paid as soon as you get your passport with the visa, or anytime after, even after arriving to the US. It is recommended to pay it as soon as you can. -
There was another poster about 2 years ago. He could not fly, and his gf was denied the B2 tourist visa. His meeting waiver for the K1 was denied. He got his gf an arrival tourist visa to one of the Caribbean countries - I think Dominican Republic? He ended up driving over 20 hours to Florida and taking a cruise to get there for the in-person meeting.

Which IRS transcript?
SteveInBostonI130 replied to EatBulaga's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Return transcript -
I am not sure if you can keep your F2A status. IR1 does not allow derivatives. Did your children have separate I-130s filed for them, or were they all under the single one for you? If it was just the one I-130, you wife will need to file I-130 for each of your children as IR2, and it will take 2+ years.

It is best to stick with the same post you started about the I-130. That way people can see what questions have been asked and answered.
-
1. Approved I-130 does not equal "approved for interview". 2. Next step is NVC. For AOS, I-864 needs to be submitted and approved (by NVC). For IV, a DS-260 has to be filled out by the beneficiary (applicant) and civil documents have to be uploaded. 3. You need to file taxes for the last 3 years. It is a "yes" or "no" question. If "no", you need to explain why you were not required to file (income below filing threshold, perhaps). You do need to fill in the gross income/total income amounts for those 3 years, unless you were not required to file. 4. You are only required to send the most recent (2022) tax returns/ tax return transcript. Years 2 and 3 are optional (2021, 2020).

Keep green card while overseas

Then as @Lil bear stated, the best method is to apply for the re-entry permit. -
Keep green card while overseas
SteveInBostonI130 replied to Arcow's topic in Military Immigration-Related Discussion
I believe active military on duty with family allowance can keep their LPR status overseas as if they are in the States. Contact your military liaison/ombudsman. -
Here's the problem with the "google" answer: what would someone do if the consulate asks about the mistake? The claim would mean there was a mistaken entry in the original DS-160. What information can be presented that the new DS-160 will have corrected information, if it' s identical to the first DS-160? I see how this can lead to misrepresentation if pursued. Filling out a new DS-160 is easy. It creates another application number and is treated separate. The tricky part is the payment and scheduling. That is tied to the USTraveldocs login account, and that system will show that a DS-160 has been payed and the person has scheduled an interview. If it currently locks out the user from scheduling, they would need to contact the consulate to reset, which would more than likely cancel the currently scheduled interview.
