That’s so far 😫 I know it’s not really. I’m just tired, I started the process in August 2018 and still waiting. I’m just sad to see people who started after me getting there interview date just because uscis messed up our case and caused delays. It’s suck as my husband had to stop working beginning of September as his canadian student visa expired. And Montréal refused to expedite  because they say it won’t be long before we get an interview... well it’s long... 
 
On that note @Tbeck congrats! I’m glad to hear you are done with this part  

I appreciate the offer but it's ok  I don't expect them to answer and I can unlock it I just need to wait for support to get back to me so I can verify that I'm not a bot (I guess twice in 5 weeks was too many times to tweet at the consulate). Mostly just thought it was funny!

I can’t stop reading “welcome to the united states of America” on the paper haha. IM DONE YALL! My appointment was at 8:30 and I was out before 9:30. Super simple and smooth. First security, then they told me which floor and window to go to. Then I went to window 5 and she took original documents: passport, birth certificate (only mine), marriage certificate, police check, 2019 tax return and 1 of my passport sized photos to scan.  And she had my medical already, as it was sent from Dr Randall Lee’s office. Did some finger prints then sat down for maybe like 25 minutes? Then got called up to window 1 where he asked me questions about the marriage, how we met, how often we saw each other. he asked about my husbands work, and since he started a new job this year I provided information and pay stubs for proof of income because it wasn’t on his 2019 tax return. Asked about my longest visit and if I’ve ever had trouble at the border. There was a lot of standing and waiting at this point lol. Then he said some new documents need to update in the system but should be done And approved by end of day. Then he handed me the welcome papers and explained next steps. That’s all! 😊😊😊 

In June 2019 @KartineeKartoons started a group message for Canadian spousal applicant VJers who were stuck in the Montreal interview scheduling backlog. They invited members at the same stage in the IV process and the message group has remained active more than a year later, currently with 199 VJ members. Not all members are active in the conversation, and a few weeks ago someone suggested it was time to disband the message group.
 
I am inviting all the active members to hold our discussion here, publicly in the forum, moving forward. Having our collective experiences and knowledge siloed behind closed doors is a disservice to the the whole of the VJ community. Let's strengthen the community as a whole by making a shift.

Another cancelled IR-1/CR-1 just got a 9 Sept date. Original interview was to be 20 Mar...

As soon as they open, I hope the ones getting interviews report back to VJ! I want to know how they are working on "making the process safe", if they took 6+ months to add a soap dispenser to the entrance I'm gonna be beyond mad!!!

Well, it’s true they haven’t and they’ll do it from August 14 as per info provided by them. Wait until the first week of August and we may have more info on visa interviews!

As I'm sure you all have searched this forum, I would say there isn't a clear "this is the main way" to get an expedite approved especially when there isn't a clear life or death emergency. Be specific how your case is differentiated, be it a specific parenting/childcare reason, medical care, or financial reason (that can in someway be linked to the negative impact and lead to more serious consequences if delayed) that goes beyond the background noise of "we're in the middle of a pandemic and life is hard for everyone right now." Humanize your situation, be sincere, be respectful, and that's all you can hope for. I hope that helps.

Its about the country  for example,  here in Ontario we just started phase two. So the consulate in toronto might open
. Does me no good as I need montreal to go to phase three apparently. The good news is- the montreal consulate actually answered an email with a real response today instead of the standard auto-reply. I guess they're working now.
