  1. I mailed the copy of friend (daughter's green card). NVC has removed her from the invoice. I sent the IV & AOS papers vis USPS Express Mail. NV received the package on November 2nd. I called the (603) #, to track the status. It says that information was received on Nov 15th. Will the automated system tell me when the case is complete? Does my friend need to speak with an operator? I just want to make sure that there is no RFE. Please advise.

Good Mornin to you as well. The invoice was not received in Error but the NVC generated invoices based on the information received from the USCIS... which was initially submitted by the person completing the I-130.

Tell your friend she can go ahead and Pay the IV Fee for the hubby.. it will not delay the case. The petitioner WILL need to contact the NVC and tell them that the "daughter" that is listed on the case is no longer a benificiary.. because she has a green card. To REMOVE from from the case file the NVC will ask that you send Proof of this.. not sure if a RFE would be generated or they would just have you mail/fax it in. They Will require a copy of her GreenCard.

any other questions let us know... enjoy

  2. Hello VJ,pls i need your help,i applied for k3 and i got my NOA1..i have been waiting for me NOA 2 since, but up till now did not get any thing.I woke today and what i saw was this .....................On November 1, 2010, we transferred this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to our TEXAS SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators

If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application.

Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results

listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current

processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov under Check Processing Times.

PLS HELP ME WITH THAT,WHEN AM I GETTING MY NOA2?

Some folks get NOA2's a few weeks or months after NOA 1. Look at other VJ'ers timelines. Try to be patient. It usually takes 9 months to a year for a CR-1 to receive the visa.

  3. Good day... My Mom or Dad Will submit An application on December 21 for their son who is 14. I'd like know if it matter which of the parent submit the I-130. Their Names have been on his Birth Certificate since birth.

Is it true that a DNA test may be requested if the Dad submits the Application..?

    Thank you.

In Kingston, a DNA test is usually required if the father's name was added after the initial birth certificate was issued. The only other case is if the child does not favor the father. My friend filed for his son. My friend is brown (light skinned). His son has the mother's complexion (chocolate). The Embassy made him take a DNA test. Of course, the pickney belong to 'im!

  4. I am assisting a friend with I-864. Her brother-in-law is the co-sponsor. I have a few questions.

Question 1: Should she mark "e"? It reads, I am the first of two joint sponsors. Initially, I marked "a". It says, I am the petitioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of my relative.

Question 8: I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above.

Should she mark no? The other sponsor is her husband's brother.

Question 9: I am sponsoring the following family members immigrating at the same time or within six months of the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above.

I listed her husband's name again. Is that ok?

Thanks in advance for any help. They have been married for 4 years. I don't want a RFE.

  5. Good morning VJ Family. I am trying to assist my friend with an CR-1/IR-1 Visa. She filed for her husband in Jamaica. However, she received 2 IV Invoices (one for hubby & the other for their daughter). Daughter and mother already live in the US (green card holders). If she asks NVC to remove daughter from fee bill, will that cause a delay? Should she just disregard the daughter's fee bill and pay the husband's instead? Please advise. I hope I am making sense.

  6. TSA requires that passengers have a valid government issued identification. Since your friend was traveling within the US, a valid driver's license should have been sufficient. Apparently, he has an outstanding warrant. One should carry green card only for employment or traveling purposes. If a green card is lost, it is hell to get a replacement. I believe that there's more to the story than she is willing to share.

  7. Well yesterday was the most fustrating day ever. I went full prepared but not for what they had to say. First everone got a blueslip yesterday they were not taking the police record everyone had to go get a new on which met we had to leave there and go to pay for a new and then go and stand in a line for 5 hours in the hot sun no less to apply for something that we already have. ALL because of dudus. Then I was laid off part of 2009 and they said i need a joint sponsor I was so pissed cause I called the NVC and asked more than once the CO said that is JA rule even thought I make more than enough. Is that a semi apprval or what?

I'm sorry that you had to go through all that drama. Was your husband interviewed? I don't know why the US is making every one suffer for a fugitive. Not all Jamaicans are criminals!!!! What if you didn't have the money to pay for another police record? Just know that delayed does not mean denied. Keep the faith.

  8. Our visa was approved...yayyyyyyyyy. No problem with any paperwork, everything went smoothly...Oh what a happy day...:-)

Congratulations! FYI: YOu may want to hold off on booking your SO's ticket. Visa could take up to two weeks. Have a rum punch for me. :)

    Am i missing anything???

Your list looks great. I believe Sugar Apple mentioned the actual interview letter. DEM NAH LET YUH U IN WID OUT IT!!!! Please make sure that you bring it. The security guards have nasty attitudes. Although your fiancee's name will appear on their list, you must still have the hard copy. Go figure. The tax returns are touch and go. I'd bring the last three years because it is better to be safe than sorry. It will also help if you have hotel, rental car or tour receipts. I'm sure you have tons of pictures with the two of you. Bring couple pics with other friends/family members too. Just relax. You guys will be on video. Try to be as affectionate without being over the top (e.g. hold hands). Feel free to read my review. The fact that you are traveling to the interview speaks volumes. You'll be fine.

  10. Here is the situation i have come across. My fiancee was born in Falmouth Jamaica, thats what I put for the 129F and the DS-230. However on the Birth Certificate and Passport it says Trelawny, instead of putting the actually town she was born, they put the Parish on the BC and passport. Is this going to be a problem at the interview?

I don't think you will have any problems. However, here is a link to all of the parishes in Jamaica. Please print a copy.

    http://www.mapsofworld.com/jamaica/jamaica-political-map.html

Also, do not offer information. If the CO asks about the birth certificate, explain the situation and show him or her the map. For example, "Sir, may I have your 2008 tax return." Hand over the 2008 return & keep it movin'. Feel free to read my review. If you have any questions, please send me a PM. Good luck.

  11. Hi Mrs. Z,

Just remember that delayed does not mean denied. It seems like the CO was being a real @#$%! Bring all of the documents to your next interview. I'm sure you'll be fine. I've been on the Yardie thread for a minute. To date, I am not aware of any CR-1 denials. If you have any more questions, please send a PM. Good luck!

I am back from my interview that was this morning, it wasn't what I expected. :( . First of all a lady called me to do my finger prints and told me she didn't have our marriage certificate  when the documents that I got from the national visa center, clearly states that everything was in it. As soon as I was called for the interview The consular said my police record has expired but the thing is, I did two police records. One in January 2009 and the last one in November 2009. The consular picked up the one I did in January and said, I needed another police certificate because the one he was holding is expired. I tried explaining that I did one in November, but the consular firmly responded saying " well this is the one I have and it is expired" to that I responded "ok sir" He asked me a few questions about:

    (1) Where we met?

    (2) How we met?

    (3) When we got married?

    (4) How long he stayed for the first time?

    (5) When was the last time I saw him?

    (6) How many persons were at the wedding? (two plus the pastor)

    (7) why? (we had a private wedding with two witnesses)

    (8) If I had pictures? (I made a cute scrap book :))

    (9) If I had western union receipts?

I had everything from the arm bands we wore at the hotels we stayed at to cards my husband, father in-law and sister in-law sent me, to phone records since 2008!!! (trust me I was prepared ;) ) but they only asked for western union receipts and pictures) After about 5 minutes or so of interview the consular started ticking the blue sheet, then he said I should get a new police certificate and use the number on it to make an appointment and return with my passport. What I need to know is:

    (1) Will I go through a mini interview when I return with the police record?

    (2) How long do you think I have to wait to get an appointment?

    (3) Does it mean when I return I might get turned down?

I am trying to be ok but my husband is devastated :crying:. He is unusually quiet and I know he is taking it really hard. I wish I could physically be there for my Baby but I just have to pray. That lawyer is not worth a thing...even if I overlooked it, how could she? If it wasn't for visa journey and yardie thread I would still be in the dark about this whole process. Thanks Yardies!! :) Please give me your views on the questions I asked, so at least I can have something concrete to tell my Boo to comfort him  .

  12. Hello Dan Dan take the CR-1 route because it's faster and way less expensive than the K-3, if you look at my timeline, you'll see that it only took my husband NOA2 93 days to be approve which I filed for him in December 09, and I received his approval in March 2010, so I'm praying he receives a May/June interview, let me now if you need any help or if you need me to walk you through the process. FEES: CR-1 $825.00 -VS- K-3 $1200 ans also with the K-3 you will have to adjust his status when he comes to the USA and than wait approx. 3 months for his SS card, but with the CR-1 it's only a couple of weeks and you won't need to AOS.:thumbs::thumbs:
