My wife's interview is April 11th so I'll be sure that after it's over I'll brief everyone too. I'll accompany her and plan for a combo interview as we are taking the kitchen sink just in case!
Yeah. But every field office doing things differently. Some field offices just take n400 interview and approve i 751 as well on the base of it n400 interview, some are doing combo, some offices are sending applicants home after n400 interview saying that wait for ur i 751 decision even if there spouses are available at the interview. So, one can know about his case only when he finishes the n400 interview.

I am in the same boat as both of you. I received the interview letter. (I applied for N 400 in December 2022) And I am worried about the I751 combo interview.
I also submitted a self written letter to request the combo interview. Let's see if that helps. And let's keep each other informed. I will post here to keep everyone updated after my interview.
Sure. Thx

Thanks. Today I found out about another case who applied from Columbus on January 31st (a day after me) that got her interview scheduled as well.
In Spanish we have a saying “no hay dos sin tres” meaning “if it happens twice, it’s going to happen a third time”. You and her would be the two, I’m hoping to be the third!Yeah. I saw her post too. And she also got it scheduled in little over a 2 months. That is why I am sure that u would get it in a next week. Maximum is before april 10th.

My worries too. I have requested a combo interview. So fingers crossed.
By requested U meant u uploaded a letter in the documents to inform them that u had a i751 pending? Yeah, i uploaded that self written letter too. Lets see if that helps us.

Today I received my N400 interview. I will bring my spouse with me. My I-751 still shows fingerprints taken. Should I be worried?
Thats what I am thinking how to make sure that officer takes combo interview. My interview is 17th may. I dont want that officer again keeps our case(n400) pending because the i 751 is pending. That would ve emotionally devastating.

Good news for Columbus Ohio filers. Below is my timeline-:
I-751
1) applied jan 25, 2022
2) Biometrics- march 7, 2022
3) No update after biometrics
5) I 751 was in MSC(NBC) since the beginning . I-751 never got transferred after applying N400 on Jan 25, 2023. May be because my I-751 was already at NBC(its just my thinking)
N-400
1) Applied jan 25, 2023
2) biometrics- scheduled feb 16 but did earlier by walking in westerville Ohio around feb 10, 2023.
3) Case status changed to "being actively reviewed on the same day".
4) March 28, 2023 scheduled for N400 interview on may, 17, 2023
5) I see no indication of combo interview on the notice. But as we all are doing the same thing, I will also go along with my spouse.
Thank you
Good luck to Columbus filers

Unfortunately for the person on Facebook USCIS has the upper hand…. So that’s why I said it was stupid of him to apply
They have the upper hand because they think they can do whatever they want. Taking decision againsts somebody(decision that affects a person's life in so many ways) going against the records is a prime example of power trip. This is also one of the reasons people apply for citizenship so they can exercise their rights better. Because until a person does not get citizenship, he/she is still at risk of being abused by the authorities in different departments. Anyway, we are still well within our processing timeframes. Hope, we will get it soon. U have a good weekend :)

So did I!
Wanna read something funny/ stupid? I used to live in West Virginia and yes, I did change address Yada yada. Long story short they sent me to Charleston , WV, to do my biometrics, which is a two hour drive. So instead I went to the one in Westerville, which is 20 min from home. I asked them why they sent me to WV and they told me it’s because this ASC was closed during covid. But even now, two years after reopening, they still send some people there… so it seems that communication between offices and centers is glitchyYeah I knew that. Read most of ur posts here. Thats why I always say, it such a shame for such a big agency, doing these types of miscommunications, mismanagements. More examples like getting people scheduled for N400 interview and then at the interview, people are being told that sorry..we have not gotten ur other file yet. Like whose responsibility is it to get candidate's file before they arrive to their interviews? Seems like they randonly doing stuff. Some officers are very good and organized at what they r doing and some officers are like they dont know how they got their jobs and just doing whatever they want to people. I read ur comment on facebook where a person was saying that he got denied for some DUI charges(which never happened). U suggested in ur comment that he should have waited 5 years. But, police was just suspicious about him but later he got released without any charge. When the record clearly shows that no charge has been put on a person, whats the point of denying him his citizenship. Now, USCIS will decide the moral character going againts the records. What is the purpose of official records if USCIS still decide going against it? So many things that I read everyday. Not saying all these things out of any frustration because we are still within our processing timeframe. Just saying because it wrong that people has been treated like this by some officials because they are not organized or trained properly.

Uuuuuugh it sucks. I know of another person applying from Columbus, same exact situation as ours. Also when you went to your fingerprints did you go to the Westerville ASC?
Yes. Just 10 minutes from where I live.

I don’t understand what’s the hold up. I mean, Columbus is a big City, but surely it’s not like NY… I know of a person that filed in January and got scheduled for interview only three weeks after, but then the interview got cancelled.
Since our i-751 files got stuck on fingerprints status for over a year, now we all are scared that same thing does not happen to N400. USCIS made us scared with their super fast processing time..hahaha. I hope our interview gets scheduled by the end of march(thats being very positive).

Yes, they sent it twice months apart though. It was a duplicate. Just wondering if it’s common or not
Dont worry. Just an another example of USCIS showing their great effieciency. Eating macdonalds with one hand and giving printing command with another. They must have pressed twice while printing urs😃

We can easily say that there is no order or system that USCIS follow. Who can say anything to USCIS? They can do whatever they want. People treating USCIS like GOD
Recently, people going for N400 interviews saying that officer hold their N400 cases because officer does not get their I 751 file in system. Seems like there is no system in such a big agency. How can u mismanage such things. Os it thay hard to get file in their system before interview. Wasting resources. People are already frustrated as their cases are pending for such a long time and when they go for their interviews thinking everything will get sorted out now, the officer says " we dont have ur other file" . Like what USCIS want us to do. Driving to another office to pgysically get our file for them. We can do that too BTW ..haha. Everything is connected to A number. But they show us like they need to drive to national benefit center to get our file
I know some people still get combo interview. But it should be a matter of luck. It must be organized. USCIS is not only wasting our time but also they are wasting their own resources. Just saying
Correction- should NOT be a matter of luck

How about we just got rid of 751s altogether since the denial rate is super low.
Plus, let’s think about it from a practical point of view: in theory, the 751 was enacted to prevent marriage fraud. Therefore, by extending the extension letters for 48 months they would just be allowing people to perpetuate fraud
We can easily say that there is no order or system that USCIS follow. Who can say anything to USCIS? They can do whatever they want. People treating USCIS like GOD

Updates: We received the new 48 month extension letter in the mail today, so I guess they are sending out the extensions slowly but surely. We also received an interview date of April 11th 2023 for the N-400. Not sure if it is going to be a combo interview, but we are going to plan on having a combo interview and I will accompany my wife to her interview. @Crazy Cat said he received an email about a week before his wife's N-400 interview notifying them that it was in fact going to be a combo interview so we will see if we get that same email, if not we will still plan on a combo and adjust as such!
So weird. They have time to print 2 pages for extension notice. Why cant they use the same time to print green card. Strange

Interesting, had to create a new account with the IRS to get transcripts (wish I'd known that before uploading entire tax returns in my application).
I can only get transcripts for the last 3 returns (not counting 2022 which I haven't submitted yet), is this similar to others here?
As I only moved to the US in 2020. I only had 2020 and 2021 transcript available when I applied mine N400 on jan 23rd this year. I filed my return for 2022 in feb and 2 weeks later, my transcript became available in my IRS account and I uploaded that transcript to my N400 file.

Ummm so since my case was updated, my I751 has disappeared from my online account, with a notice at the top saying they are having trouble retrieving my messages and an error retrieving my data
Its showing this for everybody. Nothing related to ur case being updated. Some IT related error probably.

No update for i751 after they reused my bio data. Actually for the past 3-4 weeks when I check the status it just says "Your case status is unavailable at this time. We are working to get you accurate information as soon as possible."
So I am wondering if that and the interview are connected.
Nahhh. That error is some IT related. Its same for everbody that the case status is unavailable. Is ur I751 receipt starts with MSC?

My thought really, I called InfoPass to see what's up, they told me that basically the n400 would be attached to the i751 and that the date won't affect anything.
Honestly I am thinking I will just go at the interview and ask the interviewer if that will be a problem.
Did u ever get any update about i-751 got transferred after u filed N-400? Is ur I-751 starts from MSC?
For taxes- not a big problem..just file it and get a filing copy from ur accountant..u dont need transcript..just a copy from accountant will work fine.
The main problem is that they scheduled interview before 3 year completion..the worst case is they will reschedule it when u show up for the interview..the best case is they wont care and approve it as USCIS is the one who scheduled it in the first place.
