Hi everyone,
As a legal permanent resident, can I volunteer for a political campaign for the upcoming presidential election? I find conflicting advice when googling this question. There seems to be a volunteer exemption but it is vague.
Thanks!
As an LPR you are not considered a foreign national and so you are allowed to contribute to, and volunteer for a political campaign. You might find this useful:

I've been here for almost 8 years and my list of things I miss gets smaller every year as I adapt. But there are times I could kill for a loaf of Warburton's bread!
Walmart sell Tetley British blend in the regular tea/coffee aisle for under $3 for 80. As far as I can tell it is exactly the same as home.
Crunchies and Flakes are about the only chocolate bar I genuinely miss. So I beg friends and family to bring over as many as they can fit in their bag when they visit.
'Only the crumbliest, flakiest chocolate...' No idea if they still have that in the flake adds, but I will continue to sing it every time I have a flake!

Just filed my taxes yesterday for last year. My accountant gave me the 1040. Question to all of you when will be the IRS transcript will be available for online for print out? I do have last 3 years Tax transcript. I forgot to ask my accountant about it.
This is from the IRS website https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript-faqs
Q9. How long must I wait before a transcript is available for my current year tax return?
If you filed your tax return electronically, IRS's return processing takes from 2 to 4 weeks before a transcript becomes available. If you mailed your tax return, it takes about 6 weeks. If you didn’t pay all the tax you owe, your transcript may not be available until mid-May or a week after you pay the full amount owed. Refer to transcript availability for more information.
Once your transcript is available, you may use Get Transcript Online, you may order a tax return transcript and/or a tax account transcript using Get Transcript by Mail or call 800-908-9946. Please allow 5 to 10 calendar days for delivery. You may also request any transcript type listed below by faxing/mailing Form 4506-T, Request for Transcript of Tax Return as instructed on the form. The time frame for delivery is the same for all available tax years.

Biometrics completed today... took a little less than an hour. Checked online for a change when I got in the car and estimated completion went from October to September. I got home and checked again and it went back to October 🥴.
That happened to me too. Went from estimated Dec 2020 to Nov 2020 after biometrics. Then when I checked my account that evening it went back to Dec. Not sure why and the December date no feels much longer to wait after thinking it was going to be November!

Anybody? Did you doublecheck the N-400 form the online form produces? Did it show everything properly for you?
I just checked mine and it has the same. It states 0 number of marriages for my spouse. Hmmmmm. I guess I'll be correcting that at the interview!
Also, I've been a PR for 7 years (G/C based on marriage) but the online form chose married for 3 years as my eligibility criteria for naturalization. It doesn't really matter but I wonder if it will mean they want more evidence of our marriage ties than if it was through 5 year residence.
Off to check the rest of the application.

It was awful at the time. I'm in the US now, married, have my G/C, waiting on ROC and I'll soon be able to file for N400. Just wondering if anyone has a similar experience with the denial and N400 process
Something similar here. I overstayed on a Visa Waiver, left the US 2001 and was subject to a 10 year exclusion. I was approved for a holiday visa after 5 years. I applied for my PR after the 10 year period was over. As it wasn't an issue for my G/C I'm confident it won't be a problem for my naturalization. But i guess we'll find out!
Good luck with your application.

I checked with their online tool and they have no records for me. Thanks though. As for 31 years old, I did read about that in passing and will look into it more, thanks. Main concern currently is figuring out financial aid. It is up to the financial aid office, if they believe that me not registering was not intentional. Wish me luck!
This might help.

Hello All,
I submitted my n-400 application online yesterday. Have an estimated completion time of December 2020.
I've been a PR for almost 8 years, just delayed applying for citizenship as I wanted a break from worrying about immigration stuff! The proposed increase in fees was the impetus I needed to go for it.
I've been married to my US Citizen husband for over 21 years and we have 3 US citizen children. We spend the majority of our marriage in my home country of the United Kingdom. I didn't provide any additional information to prove our marriage is bona fide...lets hope that's ok!
Hoping to not obsess over the process, but I fear I have already checked my account at least 3 times since yesterday, and I've been stalking this forum almost continuously. Oh well!
Best of luck yo all my fellow filers.

Hello All,
I had my interview on 10/28 in Fort Myers, Florida and had the oath ceremony the same day! I know they had at least 2 ceremonies that day (and think they had more). Interview was scheduled for 10:10 a.m. and the oath ceremony was scheduled for 2 p.m. in the same building. Small ceremony with no guests and only 10 new citizens. There was very little ceremony and was basically a brief introduction, the oath and receiving the certificate. After the stress of the whole process I was so relieved for it to be over, but maybe a little disappointed that it was less of an 'event'.
As far as I can remember the civics questions were:
Who is the current VP?
Name a state that borders Mexico.
Name two rights of people in the US.
When do male citizens have to register for Selective Services?
And... I can't remember the other 2.
Can't remember what I was asked to read and write either!
It was a straight forward process. Slight delay in the interview starting due to slow system issues, but no hitches once I was called by the officer.
I wanted to thank you all for sharing your experiences and being an amazing resource for information, advise and support.
Best of luck with you all on your journey to citizenship.
