  1. Hi all,

I applied for my ssn over a year ago after I got married (k1) soon after got a letter in the mail acknowledging that I applied for one.
I received my combo card in the mail in May and I thought my ssn will follow along. Three weeks past and I called ssa and they said they can’t find anything for me on the system. Should I apply for a new one or am I going to get mine when my AOS gets approved? Also, if I apply for a new one will this cause any issues since I already applied for one and didn’t get denied?

    thank you.

  2. I think you should go for it if you can afford it,if you’ve been following the entire thing since there wasn’t even a lawsuit , you’d know that it’s helped many couples. It’s worth a short and I’ve seen most people that filed already married from the first round. The second round most already have their interviews.

I wouldn’t trust what the state department says because they always contradict. Yes they say that the plaintiffs won’t be given priority but how come the embassies are ONLY scheduling for plaintiffs? They also said k1s will be given high priority when things resume ,that was false. I also suggest you ask this question in a group about k1 visas like on Facebook or something other than here because most people on here seem to dislike the entire visa category.

    Correct,

I plan on September but, of course the lockdown in both USA and SA play a huge factor in if it will happen.I know some changes are being made June 1st regarding businesses there correct? However, I am being hopeful 😜 if the visit doesn’t happen then for sure a week or so before the interview I’ll be there.

I hope they lift this travel ban soon! It’s so stressful! My fiancé and I were supposed to see eachother two weeks before they issued the travel ban. 😤

hopefully things will go back to normal soon! Good luck on your journey! :)

  4. The president of South Africa recently said those who didn’t need visas to enter South Africa will need one now. And then didn’t give much info on that. Last year my bf visited me for 12 day’s and didn’t need a visa. He’s planning on visiting me again for two weeks after all this commotion clears up. Does anyone know if he’ll need a visa to stay here two weeks? Sorry if this question is stupid everything’s just so unclear here.

Available. Applicants should submit their requests directly to the Department of Home Affairs, Private Bag X114, Pretoria 0001, and should request a "long-form" birth certificate, which lists the details on the parents. Applicants should also provide their full name given at birth, their date and place of birth, and both parents' names, including the mother's maiden name. The request should specify that an English language copy is desired. In cases of illegitimacy or adoption, the long-form birth certificate will not be sent directly to the applicant (for reasons of confidentiality), but will be sent to the appropriate consular post. In cases where a search reveals that the applicant's birth was never registered, a form letter to this effect will be issued.

So I should write them a letter asking for a unabridged birth certificate? Should I send documents as well.  Also how long will this process take
