I called USCIS yesterday and i was advised that the waits are really long. Currently the time frame for the adjustment of status and EAD for K1 is as follows;
EAD 30-37 months
Adjustment 12-32.5

I have finally been approved Yayyyy . I have honestly lost track of how many rejections and submissions I had to do. I think it was around 10 but it is potentially even higher as i stopped recording the reference numbers once i realized they were useless.
For those that are still trying keep pushing them. I ended up submitting around 47 supporting documents and a statement just shy of a 1000 words. I think if you keep applying they will get that you are serious and will approve you.

I have called every number that I have seen posted here so far. Everyone has told me they are unable to help. I have even gone as far as emailing the shadow minister for home affairs. So far I have received no help from anyone at home affairs. I called home affairs on Tuesday, I as was forwarded on to Brisbane airport who forwarded me back to home affairs who then forwarded me to border force who then forwarded me to customs back at Brisbane airport and they told me to just resubmit another application. So far a cluster F**k.
 
My last application had 45 supporting documents and an 800 word statement. If i get rejected one more time i swear to god ill send this to the media.

·         Proof of relationship such as birth and/or marriage certificates
·         Death certificate, (or letter from a medical professional)
·         Letter from a medical professional, hospital records
·         Statement on when the individual intends to return to Australia
 
Documents need to be in English or accompanied by an accredited translation.

I keep getting rejected for lack of evidence despite giving an absurd amount of proof. I have left my job and my accommodation, i'm staying with my parents.
I'm due to fly out on Tuesday and i still haven't heard anything yet.  I'm going crazy just siting here waiting for the confirmation. this is the final step to a two year wait. last thing i need is for my own government to trip me up.
 
I have read that most people are not finding out until the night before or morning of their travel date. and some aren't getting it until after their flight . someone posted on the website ill link below, that he never got a reply he called home affairs from the airport and they gave him a verbal approval. He then had to go to the border officers and they had to look it up on the computer system. overall is seems like a cluster F, and its entirely up to the officer reviewing your case and with little to no guidelines.

She received the Visa from the Australian post today!  Still waiting on travel exemption status from the second submission....

The interview went well, my visa has been approved :). My Passport and document pack has been received, I booked flights for the 26th of May.
Everything finally seems to be working out after such a long wait.
 
I just need to hear back from Home affairs with my travel permit and ill finally be on my way to be with my fiancee Yay!!

I would chase them up on Monday with a quick email. I had to do that too when I requested my interview and when I asked for an update they got back to me straight away. 
 
also I reckon the medical center will understand if you have to rebook a different time. I actually missed my appointment because the receptionist told me the wrong date but they didn’t charge me a second booking fee.

Those that are flying from south Queensland to Sydney for an interview keep in mind that if you cant get a flight from Brisbane there are airports at the Goldcoast, Toowoomba and the sunshine coast.

Today I received an emergency interview for the 12th of may at the Sydney consulate. I sent the request on the 29th of April. Hopefully everything goes well and all my documents are in order.
