    Question 1: No.
Question 2: I would answer this question as currently.  If the beneficiary is not related to the co-sponsor, then put N/A.
Question 3: Read what is in parentheses below "Part 2" in question 38.  If is applies to your co-sponsor, then answer yes.  If the co-sponsor is not going to be making money contributions to the beneficiary (for example, a monthly sum of money or helping them out each month) then the co-sponsor can put "do not intend."  Since the I-134 is not specific to the K-1, it will have questions regarding other visas.  I have been told this before with anything and I pass it onto you, read every question carefully and anything after it.  As long as it does not say "Part X" or "Question X" meaning not the same area, it more than likely explains what you are asking.
I will also say, take a breather because you are in a good place with the process.  If you need to, step away from the form for a bit and then go back and reread that entire page or that section.  This will help you proofread the remainder of the form and also get a fresh set of eyes on the question.  Congratulations on the interview!!!

hi @Keithn85, sorry one more question . For the I-134 form with the part where it asks about annual income do I put what was on my annual tax return?

    thank you!

    Hi Gigi!

How would you say the embassy is doing with scheduling interviews? I know you may not know but does it look like they’re trying to get through the backlog?

I saw the US had a townhall and said they rescheduled almost 500 interviews in Nigeria. I guess I’m just trying to find out how fast they can get through that lol. Me and my fiancé would be right behind that backlog. As our NOA2 is Feb 2021.

Hi @KrissyEkwerike! Yeah so I think now they’re being a bit more active with scheduling interviews . My NOA2 was back in February 2020 & our case got to the embassy in March, just as the pandemic happened  So exactly a year later, (March 2021), we kept tracking the ustravel doc website to see if we would be able to schedule the interview , & lucky enough we were able to .

people have been getting interviews recently but i believe these are ppl who had been waiting since last year . So my belief is once they get through those folks first , then they’ll tend to the backlog . With the way i see things , I think, (emphasis on think) that in a few months , they should have processed the cases that were paused during the pandemic & start handling backlog . Again, it’s just a thought and not a guaranteed statement 😂😂😂

Now , in your case because things are moving a bit, i would say contact the NVC first to see if there has been any movement with your case, because they would have to send your case to the embassy before you’re even able to get an interview .

so once you see that your case says “in transit “ or “ready” you can check the ustravel doc site to  see if there is any interview ability . Also, i just want to remind you to make sure you have the DS160 & the GT bank receipt completed .

hope that helps ! Good luck with everything!

Hi, and good evening just a quick one please how I do download my call history,I mean my ohinet call history with my fiancé from my phone have searching for every possible means to do that ,non is coming through my way..

If you are the petitioner in the US, you can contact your phone company and ask them to send over a record of all the calls you’ve made internationally or they might give you info on how to access that online. If you used any mobile calling card apps, like Boss Revolution is Rebtel, you can also go to the activity tab and screenshot your info.

hope that helps ! Good luck 🙂

Wow thank you so much @Keithn85! As simple as the form may look, I’ve been obsessing over every detail because I don’t want us to get anything wrong , so yeah I’ve definitely had to take a few breathers. Thanks for the advice and kind words . I wish you all the best as well !

  5. Hey there
We are a few weeks away from the K1 visa interview and completing the I-134, which has been a bit confusing to complete because I have to include a co-sponsor (my mother).

The confusion is regarding . (part 3: question 10 -21a) For dependents , I'm not sure if I should put my stepdad , who she is married to and have petitioned and submitted an affidavit for (previously). She doesn't claim him on her taxes though and he is now a US citizen.  Do I still have to put him?

also, for part 2 : question 7 that says relationship to sponsor: it would be future son -in- law or future mother in law ?

Lastly, for 3 : should the co-sponsor select the " do not intend to make specific contributions.." or should they just  leave it blank?

    Thanks !

  6. Hey there ,

I have a question regarding passport renewal and the visa interview . So when my fiancé went to do his medical, he realized his passport had some type of water damage to the pages itself . It’s like  stained in the right upper hand corner of the  passport . His bio data page is completely fine . However , I’m concerned about him having difficulty when it’s time to fly. I was thinking he can get a new passport before his interview but then I’m wondering if that will cause any issues with the consulate because the new passport wasn’t used on any previous applications ( ds 160 , i129f etc) . Should we just keep the same passport and have them use that to stamp his visa or should we get a new passport ?

Thank you in advance  ! image.thumb.jpg.c06c3fe692a8c1c863e35d42b07010c3.jpg

About 95% of the embassies put the interview scheduling responsibility on the beneficiary. That scheduling information would be in the P3 letter that is sent to the beneficiary once the case filed arrives at the embassy and your CEAC status shows "ready".  Visit your embassy's website for further details.

hello, my case shows ready on the CEAC site but my fiancé never got a p3 letter..

could that mean its really not at the embassy yet. it stated it was ready on the ceac site on 3/23  just as things were getting shut down b/c of COVID

International commercial flights being open is just one of the criteria for the phased opening of foreign consulates/embassies. There is a thread on here that details the Diplomacy Strong plan created by the US Department of State. I don’t remember the exact one you can check the embassy forum or use the search function to find it.

Thank you so much ! Appreciate it

I haven’t checked my I-145 status since last month due to COVID-19 . Today, while at work, I was tempted to check my status and behold! My status says “new card being produced”.  I wasn’t expecting this, I feel overwhelmed.

I am really short of words right now lol, feels surreal that the K-1 journey has now ended and the path to citizenship is now opened.

    Goodluck to everyone waiting!

wow that is awesome ! congrats ! 😄

Pls is there a new update on Lagos consulate Nigeria for cancelled interviews ,mine was supposed to be on the 26th of March , and Nigeria has eased their lockdown since May 4th

    Hi there,

I came across this site that provides updates  regarding when the US Consulates in all of the countries will resume. It also provides information on when they'll open up their international airports. Because of this COVID -19 thing, it is really hard to tell when things will resume and it's quite frustrating but we should all hang in there.

For Nigeria, it is said that the  international airport will open up June 7th, if that really does happen, then I'm hoping and assuming that the US Consulate in Lagos will resume shortly after that. It also states, that they're not providing certain routine services (like the visa interviews etc.) and only focusing on emergency situations.  However, this site seems trustworthy, they provide daily updates, so maybe if we keep checking, one day it'll say that they're back to regular programming. 😃

    Hope this helps.

As a student of this thread it has been opined many times that the NOA2 expires after one year but can be extended in increments of four-months at a time. The embassy has the responsibility to extend the visa past any four-month period, with good reason, for another four months up to one year. If it totally expires then you would have to reapply and start over. We will learn more as the embassies open so sit back and relax but stay in engaged.

The embassies are closed but some are scheduling and some that allowed scheduling are now cancelling the appointments. Until your embassy switches on the interview scheduling you are not able to pay your fee.

That's how it will affect your case.

oh okay make sense. thank you !

  12. Hi ,

does anyone know how we can pay for the k1 visa fee ? My fiance tried paying it at a local GT bank and was told he can't pay there. I'm assuming its because of covid 19 . Would there be any other way , like online?  We just want to be able to have it paid so that we can book the interview as soon as everything is lifted and everything resumes.

    thanks !

  13. Hi,

So i'm pretty confused here with paying for the visa application. Back in March, I got an email saying it was heading to the embassy and although we haven't received the actual P3 letter yet but our case stated ready on the site. We went ahead and completed the DS 160 application. The instructions on the site says we have to pay the visa fee at a local GT bank . My fiance has tried several times to go and pay and he was told they're not accepting payment. I'm not sure if this is because of covid. I'm not sure how else we can pay for the visa fee. I was hoping to have it paid so that when everything is lifted and resumes we can go straight to booking an interview.

also my NOA 2 letter will expire June 20th, if the embassy hasn't touched our case yet and hasn't sent a P3 letter by that time, how will it affect our case?

@Greenbaum Hi, I was having a similar issue with trying to upload the passport photo with the DS - 160. I got the chance to resize it but then it mentioned something about the color settings of the photo. I'm not too sure how to work that, so my fiance & I thought we would just submit the application and just bring the physical copy of the passport photo to the interview since its required anyways. Do you think we should still try and upload the photo online?

My girl's birthday is Feb 4th and I sent her flower to her office in the morning and home at night.  She made me promise not to spend more money by sending her flower on Valentine's day.

I reluctantly agreed.. and I was trying to figure out how else to express my adoration to her while she is still in Vietnam and I'm here in Texas..

Well the USCIS just helped me out in a HUGE way... they just texted me to check my  case...
