TracyTN got a reaction from alongwayfromhome in Divorce before removal of conditions on permanent resident status.
Been meaning to bring up this article in this forum - interesting information about just this situation.
    http://www.ilw.com/articles/2009,0924-lee.shtm
ETA quote from the article (which cites a USCIS memorandum), "The importance of the memorandum is to allow conditional permanent residents who are only separated or in divorce or annulment proceedings to timely file for a waiver based upon a bonafide yet terminated marriage by themselves without having to ask the U.S. citizen spouse to sign a joint petition, and to later provide evidence of final marriage termination upon receipt of a request for evidence from U.S.C.I.S. It also gives immigration service officers the authority to amend the basis of I-751 filing rather than making conditional permanent residents refile and pay new fees for another I-751. These are welcome changes."

Agreed. Aside from the fact that USCIS is notoriously slow with ALL things; I can only imagine how much a pending vaccination waiver would slow your case down.

TracyTN got a reaction from Patience089 in Can you study on a K-1 Visa?
As has been said here, there is no immigration reason she cannot study once she arrives. Upon her entry, she will be given an I 94 which her status is then derived from (the K1 is null and void after using it to enter). Once she applies to adjust status, she is in a period of authorized stay and cannot be deported/removed while the I 485 is being processed.
Your problem is the school and what immigration status they'll require her to have in order to study there. They may want her to at least have her green card, but it likely depends on the school. Why don't you call and ask them?
I'd also imagine they'd want her to have an SSN, so go to your local SSA office around 10 days after she arrives and apply (print out the info in the link from my signature and take it with you).

We've not been yet, but a friend of mine went in August for her natz biometrics - she was under the impression that they do not take walk ups there. This is the Nashville, TN office.

    I know, right??
I asked Krikit about possibly getting that article pinned in this forum. We have questions like this several times a day (and not just in this forum either - often times in the removing conditions forum itself).

They don't do hair tests at these medicals. Unless I've missed something!
Regardless, to the OP: I'm sorry to hear of your situation. I'm sure you'll choose the course of action that's best for you two. Hang in there.

Well, personally, I think paying a ton of money to have someone make mistakes on your file and cost you time, is ridiculousness, when there is all this information here, and on the form instructions, for free.
You are lucky that you got a second RFE. Usually failure to properly reply to the first RFE results in straight denial.
Both people need a letter of intent with original signature, not an email or scan.

It was in the I-129F instructions.
And it's also in the K-1 Visa Guide here, in the Guides section.
I'm sorry - that level of ridiculousness is on you, this one time, not USCIS.

I'm sorry, but it sounds callous to say 'I'm on my third one.' These are humans with feelings - at least have the courtesy to call them wives.

Aww - I always love pictures of Mad-Ag! Serious is right - but cute as a button too! We loved Skyfall too - glad that you had 'nanny' there to babysit so you and Jon could get out a little. I swear, that is SO necessary for your sanity. My niece has started babysitting to make a little $ so I believe we will be employing her sooner rather than later. We love dinner and a movie - our favorite kind of date.
I am SO excited that your sister is having a boy and that all seems to be going well so far with the pregnancy. How exciting for all of you!
Here's a picture of Emily sitting with a friend of mine, scrounging her smart phone of course (she can unlock mine with ease and navigate from app to app - frighting really). Sorry it's not a better picture but I realized this is the best I have on my work computer. LOL It was taken about two weeks ago.
Sadly, she has really no interest in potty training yet. She will tell us when she has pooped, but hasn't made that step in logic yet to 'I need to poop - put me on the potty'. We haven't been trying TOO hard either though - will probably pick that up after the first of the year. My sister said her daughter (who was fast at everything) had no real interest in it - and couldn't 'grasp' it - until she was at least 2 1/2, so I'm not that surprised (or concerned). We're likely going to start her in a two day a week preschool in August, so she'll need to be potty trained by then at least.
She is also still in her crib instead of a toddler bed! LOL She does so well in the crib that we've been in the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' mode. She has never climbed out of it, and climbed into it once (last night!) to get a stuffed animal. We have a friend with a 3 1/2 year old son who just made the transition so we don't feel so bad. But Mad-Ag is making me think we are behind!! Eeek!! That said, it sounds like she's forced your hand a little bit. I will be very curious to see how it goes - so keep us informed.

    It's a BOY!!
The ultrasound was disappointing, the tech didn't let me see the screen and stayed silent the whole time. Then at the end, she had me roll around as baby had his legs crossed. She then casually just said "it's a boy"- we were like what?? We expected her to walk us through and do some kind of fun reveal. She then finally let me see the screen, showed me the #######, heart, bladder, hands/feet, profile, and then we were rushed away with some photos. Bummer! But I have to go back for another one this weekend as she missed part of the spine, and I will ask to see the baby this time.
The midwife notified me that the baby has a white spot on his heart. I almost died. But then she said it's ONLY a soft marker for Down's Syndrome, and my other tests came back negative, and my risk level was 1 in 50,000! So she said it's virtually no risk, and the baby won't have any heart problems.
Maven, it will be awesome if you get that done and dusted for the start of 2013.

Those are for later in the process, when you are communicating with the embassy (Or rather your fiance is). It says right there that it will be provided by the embassy.
The first step is for YOu the USC to get an approved petition (I-129F) that allows your fiance to apply for a visa at the consulate/embassy.
Have you found the accompanying guide, the K-1 FLOW CHART?

There is something very, very wrong here. You need more help than simply filing papers. Your relationship sounds tragic and abusive and not healthy for you at all. Your husband should be helping you, supporting you, loving you. It doesn't sound like he's doing ANY of this.

Ok, well it is just a forum, similar to VJ. You have to surf through the posts there and there is a search box at the top right of the page. It has info about the I-601 process at CDJ, and even examples of approved hardship letters that were used in sticky posts at the top of the other threads.
This post has a lot of info in it, from medical to visa appointment through info on what to do to file a waiver: http://immigrate2us.net/forum/showthread.php?77532-FAQs-about-medical-visa-interview-waiver-appointment-AP-and-expedites
