Feeling kind of nervous after reading this. Any advice you’d give? Our interview is next week iA🙏🏼
Hey,
I just wanted to share. It's always good to be over prepared and really just be yourself. They can only ask so many questions. We just received an update that the card is in production so I think our nervousness just got the best of us. Good luck and share your experience once it's all done.

Sorry you had such a negative experience. I hope that things get cleared up shortly.
Were the updates to your the beneficiary or petitioner employment? What other changes did the IO want to make?
What other evidence did you provide? E.g. to show co-mingling of finances?
I'm sure it will all be fine. But just wanted to share because not everyone walks out smiling. We had bank statements and our tax returns. I forget what all 4 of the updates were but they were 4.

Hey folks,
So we had out interview last Friday and it didn't feel so great. We are hoping for a positive outcome but I wanted to share the experience. As many folks have noted you come in and go thru airport like security ( shoe removal, jewelry removal etc.) We took the lift to the second floor and checked in for our interview. Initially I was excited to hear our IO escort a couple and verbally say you are all set, congratulations, etc. I thought wow I hope she interviews us and says the same thing. But once we got into the room it just seemed to go downhill. The IO wasn't very friendly. The questions asked were all standard. I was taken off guard by her request to know more about my ex husband. She asked what my husband's parents do and asked if we had met each others family. She was noting down all updates she needed to make to our file such as new employment, visa status etc. There were four updates in total that she would need to make but she gave no verbal indication that we were approved ( not required I know). She also walked us out very quickly and all in all wasn't friendly. Sorry to hammer on this point but it just wasn't a good experience as so many other folks have said everything went well and case updates were made so quickly. I will say if you have a new job bring your letter of employment or a pay stub. She also wanted to see utilities which we don't have ( included. paid in the rent) and insurance documents ( we had a letter from our car insurance with our names and policy but that wasn't enough for her ( she stated this is just a piece of mail). She never asked for pictures and my husband mentioned it as we were leaving the office. Good luck to anyone with an upcoming interview. No status updates made online and I assume it is due to the number of updates she needed to make to our file.

Tried that again today and was told that they no longer transfer to tier two by phone instead they put you in a line to be contacted and send you an email. I tried this on Dec 15th an have yet to get a reply.. Whats even more uncanny is that we got the same service rep when we called a man by the name of Gary. Very kind guy but makes no difference if we miss the appointment. We were told that the letter is not recorded as sent from his view although the notice online states a letter was mailed Dec 3rd.. We requested an infopass appointment to simply go and get a copy of the letter ourselves in person. Hoping the request for an info pass will trigger a quicker reply. Oh 2020 what a year you are
Ok great news. Mail forwarding is alive and well. Although we updated our address with uscis they still sent the notice to our old address and we received the letter today. Interview is Jan 8th.petition date was Nov 8 2019

It updated online December 8 and then received the letter about 6 days later. It looks like yours is going to be scheduled early January
This is exactly what I am afraid of.. no letter to date but case updated dec 3rd. Im assuming we are scheduled jan 4th or Jan 5th. Without a letter there isn't much we can do. I dont want to miss the appointment

A new Medical is not needed. You already submitted it as part of your application.

It actually wasn't submitted with the application. Our case is a bit unique but thanks for the assist.. I am sure someone might need to hear that.

Great news! The interview has been scheduled! Not sure of the date but saw an update on the website that as of December a notice for interview was sent.. Now I will be stalking the mail notifications and prepping for the medical.. We applied in oct of last year and made a mistake so had to resubmit in November.. I hope this helps

I didn't include any photos when I applied for EAD extension recently and I received the EAD card just fine.
Thanks so much. I am not too worried about it.. Everything is going super slow.

Hi Guys,
Made a small mistake when sending off for the EAD/AP Renewal. We didn't include two passport photos totally forgot and when trying to stop the package to include them the docs were sent off anyway. Hoping we don't get an RFE but fingers crossed it will all be good.

Waiting to see what a mystery envelope from USCIS is today... Hoping it might against all odds be an appointment letter for interview (although no status changes online...)
OMG so exciting.

Hey Guys,
We had an infopass appointment today and I just wanted to share that the Fairfax office is a literal ghost town. I get that Covid is scary but they could certainly do a bit more in the way of appointments. Not sure if this helps anyone but just wanted to point out that traffic is low.

Hi Guys,
Wondering if anyone moved after the interview ready to be scheduled. I am a bit nervous and calming my fears with the hope that Northern Va and DC share the same office. We moved from DC to Alexandria and are wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.

Could you be a little bit more specific? How did your name change after filing?
These are the regular steps people filing for AOS based on marriage follow:
1) Getting a K1 visa or other visas
2) Getting married
3) Changing maiden name to married name (optional)
4) Filing the AOS with your legal name (married name if point 3 applies)
hey there sorry about that. I am the petitioner and my husband the beneficiary. I am would like to join my name to his post marriage and although I am not awaiting any approvals as a USC I don't want to interfere with his process. Wondering if anyone has done something similar. USC name change post marriage and while in process for the AOS.

Has anyone changed there name after filing your paperwork and before approval. I am wondering if this would have any effect on the process.

Hey Guys,
Great news our case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.. Seems to be moving rather quickly for us. We submmited in Mid Oct but had to resubmit due to an issue with the fee. The NOA Date for everything was mid Nov. Fingerprints in Early Dec and updated status for the AOS in late Jan. This seems to be following the general timeline that I am seeing and hope we have an interview date soon or an approved EAD. We are in DC so it may take some time for the interview. I simply can't believe that the case is now ready and things are moving along. We did receive a notice about the missing medical exam and the letter was dated Jan 10th so they really are moving on our case and sending great updates. Wishing you all good news/ updates soon.

Hi guys,
Great news we received notification early this morning that our case was received and accepted. We originally submitted in OCT prior to the 15th but our file was rejected due to submission of one electronic fee form for the total amount. When we received our package it appeared to have been fully scanned and separated.I resubmitted with the notice that was inside and two separate checks. I didn't attempt to reorganize anything and hope this goes by rather quickly. Silly mistake our lawyer encouraged but in any case we are on our way. I am not very good at this timeline thing but here is my attempt.
Package sent Nov 7,2019
NOA 1 - priority date of Nov 8,2019
Checks cashed Nov 18th
