No "as if", I copied the text verbatim from the lede of the article (as per what I am told the norms are)
There is no talent or spin involved.

I am not sure where this is coming from. I posted an article about a major health event for a historic figure, a hero to many.

John Lewis has a tough road ahead.  I hope for the best for him and his family.

I like the Lev Parnas one: Fraud Guarantee. Granted, it's not a Trump LLC, but it's part of the broader story.

The best Trump LLC name yet " damage control" used by Michael Cohen to pay the national enquirer to kill the Karen McDougal story😅😅😅😄

Want to see something interesting? I was really intrigued by one of the names on that list, since it looked like gobbledygook to me: Trump Marks Mortoaoe Corp. Like, was that supposed to say "Mortgage"? Dunno. So I Googled "Trump Marks Mortoaoe" and I found this: https://qz.com/461688/a-list-of-everything-donald-trump-runs-that-has-his-name-on-it/

Kind of looks similar, doesn't it? If you dig further in that article, it points to an FEC disclosure form listing all (presumably) of the Trump-affiliated businesses, and there are even more there than on that list in the picture: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/2175187-trump.html (This also shows that it was supposed to be Trump Marks Mortgage Corp., and the Quartz article mangled the word "mortgage".)

So why are there so many more that are in the total FEC disclosure than on that picture? My guess, tracking the apparent order of the list in that picture, is that it lifts its contents from that Quartz article. And what does that Quartz article actually show? It shows "A list of everything Donald Trump runs that has his name on it". Now, if I hadn't packed up my printer, I could print out the picture and spend an hour or so cross-checking that I'm right about this, but I kind of think I'm right about this. There's no indication that any of these businesses in the list in the picture and in that Quartz article are profitable, just that they have Trump's name in them.

I cannot read the titles of any of those. You know they are profitable (or even have money) how?

How Much Does It Cost to Incorporate in Delaware?
There are several fees to consider when incorporating or forming an LLC in Delaware, including:
    Delaware Incorporation Fees
The state fee to incorporate in Delaware is a minimum of $89. This includes your Division of Corporation fees ($50), filing fee tax ($15 minimum), and the county fee ($24). This price is based on a corporation with 1,500 shares at no par value, so the filing fees will vary depending on the number of shares you desire and their par value.
    Delaware LLC Filing Fees
Similarly, the Delaware LLC fees include $90 to the state for filing your Delaware LLC formation.

I have two weeks left in the hands down weirdest place I have ever lived, and I am going to miss it.  I am going to miss Sunday doughnuts and wearing sweaters and shopping for weird vegetables at Berkeley Bowl and my weird little A-frame studio in someone's back garden. Apropos of all that, I thought I'd bring you the weirdest news I saw in the past week or so from around here -- kept meaning to post this but Christmas. You know how it is.

Very clearly the article refers to returns and not the actual index value.

Investors care about returns. The number of an index is just an indicator.

    If one had read further in the article;

"The Dow Jones industrial average has gained about 45 percent since Trump was sworn in nearly three years ago. The Dow was up about 53 percent at this point in Obama’s presidency and a whopping 57 percent in Clinton’s early years in office. How much credit presidents deserve for market gains — or losses — remains a big debate, but Trump points to the stock market frequently as a barometer of how he’s doing as president."

The key take aways should be: 1.Presidents do not drive month over month stock market returns, their policies may not be felt for 5 years.
    2. In the case of Clinton you saw overheating in the market that eventually resulted in a crash that took years to recover from only to face another more serious crash.
    3. The stock market is not the economy.
    4. Most Americans are not directly benefiting from a robust market and are not directly impacted in a down market. For most Americans, their house is their largest asset base.

Okay, opinion pieces are now "facts." I have put that away in Layla's Filing Cabinet for later use.

I do read, and widely. I read on the left and the right. I read publications that have little skin in the game. I read domestic and international sources. I follow links. I peruse primary sources. I draw my own conclusions, thank you. I may be only a woman, but I'm perfectly capable of coming to analyses that are informed and yet differ from yours. That's fine. I thank you for bringing alternative sources into the mix for me. I appreciate understanding what is out there. But I also reserve the right to discern whether the source is useful, well-founded and/or unbiased. We might disagree in our assessments, but it doesn't mean we haven't both (hopefully) taken our time to consider our conclusions.
Of course there are people who are working for the removal of Trump. I'm not a blithering idiot. But I *do* know the difference between legitimate methods (impeachment, the ballot box) and illegitimate methods (a putsch, for example). What we have seen are legitimate methods in play. Now, you may not agree with the basis of the articles of impeachment, or believe that the case wasn't sufficiently made for the articles to be adopted. But the process itself was legitimate. It is literally in the Constitution. A coup implies illegitimate, extrajudicial means of removing a head of state. That simply has not happened here. If you disagree with the basis, it is still possible to understand that the means were legitimate.

Is it possible to find intelligent, insightful legal scholars who believe that the process was illegitimate? I'm sure you can. But my understanding is that the vast majority who have expressed an opinion not only believe the process was legitimate, the articles were too. (Elites! What do they know! 😛)

It is about choices. I disagree with your opinion, but I wouldn't be quite so rude as to imply you're a flat-earther or that you think Kubrick was behind the set design of the moon landing. But I'm kind of nice like that, or so I am told. 😊
