Hello, I am 03/31/2021 I-485 Marriage-Based Filer.
I recently moved to another state, and my case got also transferred.
Today, I received a mail from my field office, and It is an RFE due to not submitting the I-673, Medical Exam Form with the I-485.
I thought I could bring it on the day of the interview, and my previous field office only required to bring it to the interview.
I am not sure why I did receive the RFE for the medical exam, and Does it mean I am not required to have an interview?
and How long does it usually take to get the update once you submit the RFE response?
Thank you!
Hello, I am going through a similar situation. I have been waiting for a rescheduling of a cancelled interview since 2020. Been reaching out to my senators and just finally got a rfe for my medical which has expired since I sent it initially in 2019. I will mail off tomorrow with other proof just in case.

hi everyone,
my wife just finished her interview today (atlanta office). i am surprised the interviewer just asked her questions and not me. anyway, for those who had the interview as well did you guys found out if you guys were approved after the interview? because the interviewer told us wait until the end of the day or we will received something in the mail within a week.
thanks!
Were there other people getting interviewed as well? Was your interview cancelled? I am also going through Atlanta office. Had my interview cancelled in March no word yet. Wondering how they are scheduling interviews.

So we just had our interview in Mt. Laurel, NJ.
Interview was on time and the officer was really nice. I'm surprised how easy everything was. She went over the I-485 with me and the yes/no questions and then went over the I-130 with my husband. She took 3 or 4 pictures and then asked how we met and if there was anything we would like to say about our relationship. She also asked for any new documents and said that she would approve it today or tomorrow. 15 minutes later I checked the website and it said ''New card is being produced''.
This is good news, congratulations 🎉🎊

So Purdue's office finally got back to me:
Yes, they (USCIS) have started doing interviews again. Sorry, but I cannot give you a timeframe because it depends on where you are in the queue.
I've noticed that we don't have a lot of ATL users on VJ, so maybe people are getting scheduled and rescheduled and we just won't know because they're not on a forum.
I just hate that there is no transparency with this process. Like, how many interviews will the office be conducting a day? How many of those are people who need to be rescheduled? How many people are in the queue? Are we really waiting on the next available interview date and if so, how far out would that be?
This whole process has me like
Exactly my sentiments. Like I said before who knows what is really going on and if they have started interviewing how’s the queue going? Because me and my wife were supposed to have had our interview on March 17th the day before the official 18th closure of uscis. Walked up to the office only to be told there weren’t doing interviews. Haven’t had any updates yet and they have been open for what 2 months or so!

I thought the same until I saw people in Facebook groups getting their AOS approved without interview and who came to the US on a B1/B2.
What Is the name of the fb group if you don’t mind sharing? I’m b1/b2 as well and would like to see

Not to bad we were hoping for the AP and work permit to go though before all this and was predicted for end of March that's been pushed further and further back now but we still keep checking. Didnt realise some people were getting their green card without interview.
Would have been nice to bring in some extra money as it's all been allot longer than we expected. But the main thing is everyone stays safe
Hold on Jenny. It might be on its way. Offices are still moving forward with ead approvals and such. Blessings!

been watching from the outside since sarge released this exciting info. I’m aos via b1/b2 visa. So far no word on whether anyone who has filed under b1/b2 has been granted the waiver but hopefully someone will. I was unfortunate enough to have my interview scheduled for March 17. With no indications that the interview would not happen ( official statement was made March 18th and the website was saying my office was operating per usual) only to be told by security that the office was not going to be holding any interviews. But hoping to hear someone with my type of aos lucking out on this waiver too!

Hows everyone and their family holding up during these times? Although everything on my end is in standstill I’m still checking the site and I’ve seen some ppl getting their gc approved without interview! I’m hoping it trickles down to b1/B2 visa applicants because they all have different visas Like the K1 visas and other types. But hope everyone stays encouraged and maybe just maybe a few more will get this lucky chance.

I’m afraid the same is gonna happen to us
My office is in Atlanta. Not sure what other offices are doing; there was nothing on uscis’ site saying the office or any other office for that matter was closed. It said all offices were opened. But when we got there security was turning ppl around so I went up and i was told to we would be rescheduled and call a number they gave us to reschedule. We called the number in the parking lot and they weren’t aware the office was not doing interviews. Told us to wait for either email or mail with further instructions.

Had interview yesterday and was approved! Was left for review at the end of interview but was told would be approved. By time got back to the car online status changed to card is being produced.
Interview was super relaxed, was told they looked through case and everything looked good. Essentially just went through application and confirmed questions. Didn’t use a lawyer throughout the whole K-1 and AOS process and was pretty easy in the end.
NEVER received EAD, full timeline below, just under five months start to finish;
10/14 Filed
10/21 NOA issued
12/13 Bio complete
1/21 Interview ready to be scheduled
1/23 Interview Scheduled
3/10 Interview
3/10 Card is being produced / Approved
Good luck to the rest of you.
Congratulations!

Hey,
congrats on getting your ead and interview scheduled . I was wondering how long did it take for them to update your status from “response to RFIE received “ to ead is being produced
I think it was about 2 weeks in between them receiving and resuming work on my case to interview ready for schedule and a day or two to interview scheduled. Ead was approved last week.

Interview waived
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
Just got notice that my 485 is now “card is being produced” see below my timeline.
B1/b2 overstay AOS
Nov 2019 sent Aos package
Dec 2019 biometrics completed
Jan 2020 ead card only
Feb 2020 notice for interview
Interview was scheduled for March 17th 2020.
On March 17th (day of interview went to the office to find out that the Atlanta office decided to close down due to Covid despite uscis posting that all offices will close on March 18th 2020)
Oct 2020 got Ead and ap renewal
Nov 2020 reached out to senator loffler office no movement.
Took a break from trying to get some movement on my case.
Then From Nov 2021 until today I have been corresponding with the two senators office.
Feb 2022 rfe for medical (they said the one I sent initially was expired and they needed a new one to proceed)
March 2022 ead renewal only(applied for combo) and replied to rfe.
There was no update to say they received the rfe after weeks so reached out to uscis call center no help, tried Emma no help, emailed the senators office yesterday and they said they will follow up.
April 13 2022 new card is being produced. No interview, marriage based Aos, b2 visa overstay.
