No, and it's becoming so frustrating! In my area (Los Angeles), it says 6-18 months. Can a simple AOS take 18 months? I filed in December 2021.

Hi, how do you expedite without a job offer? I'm so sorry to ask this but I was patient, thinking I'd get my green card by September (filed in December 2021) but now I really am running out of money.

I used Emma and asked for an info pass, that got me to a live person. I asked for the live person to submit an expedite for the EAD, we informed them that we had a couple utilities bills we were getting behind on and a job offer that could get cancelled. They submitted the expedite request. We never got asked provide any evidence, the status was updated to card being produced after 8 days of the request being submitted. I hope that helps you!

Sent Aos, Ead & Advanced travel parole application via FedEx on 12/21/21.

It was delivered and signed for on 12/23 at the Chicago Lockbox.

I did not submit the form that allows me to receive a text and the check has still not been cashed. Is there a delay with the Chicago lock box or should I be worried?

Update.. check cashed 1/16/22… I’m expecting the NOA1 in the mail this week fingers crossed.

Adjustment of status (F1 to GC)

    Married to US Citizen

    Sent to Chicago Lockbox: concurrent filing (i-130, i-485, i-765, i-131, i-693, and i-864)

12/14/2021 - Sent package with USPS

12/15/2021- Package received according to USPS tracking

I read some people who filed after my filing date already got their receipt notice (it gets me a bit anxious, to be honest). But I hope I can hear back from USCIS soon (fingers crossed).

Have you received your NOA1 yet? Seems like the Chicago lockbox is taking forever smh

    Hello,

My fiance is from South Africa, but we met in Shenzhen, China when we were both working there from 2018-2020. I know she is required to obtain a Chinese Police Clearance Certificate. However, it seems as if this may be an extremely difficult or at least considerably expensive endeavor. Is there anyone on here who has had success in obtaining this document? We still have some friends in China and were thinking that maybe they could facilitate the collection of this certificate.

I also read that it is possible that thje consular may waive this requirement if you can prove that the document is unobtainable. Is this realistic or common? Has anyone successfully demonstrated that a Chinese Police Clearance Certificate is unobtainable? Has anyone been approved for a K1 Visa without this document?

Thank you so much for any help or advice.

My fiancé had to get a Chinese police clearance certificate, it costed us about $500 but it is obtainable. It took 2 & 1/2 months to get so if you have friends there that’s a cheaper route to go. This is the service in China we used http://www.chinatraveldocs.com/request-a-quote/ .  I hope this helps!

you need to read USCIS instructions as I 134 is always needed for K1

since your interview (hope they did not cancel it)  the fiancee should attend / CO will put the case in AP (CEAC will say refused) till the embassy gets the needed documents

you should have recd a complete list of needed documents

    like the criminal report

    I 134

    IRS transcripts

    or 1040 and W2

    and most recent pay stubs

    original birth certificate

and any others the embassy wanted

    u didn't get this?

Do you know someone who had a K1 interview and they told you this? I ask because I see you did the CR1

They are not requesting we bring form I-134. We have the tax transcripts so things should be fine. Just curious from anyone that’s had an interview recently the financial docs they asked for. Thanks

Firstly, you filled out the wrong form. It’s I-134 for the K1 interview. Secondly, the embassy should have sent you a list of documents to bring to the interview. In addition to tax transcripts, you need to show evidence of your current income such as employment letter and pay stubs.

Thanks for your reply, according to what we received they did not request the I-34 form.

Thank you so much for the reply. I would just ask for a couple clarifications:

    - Our CEAC status says "Ready". Does that mean I can schedule the interview? Or will it actually change to "Received" at some point?

    - Exactly where can I schedule the interview? I'm confused on that point because on the link bellow it says if you are a Portugal resident, appointment registration not required.

When the status says ready you are good to go

As others have said, you can begin the process now, no need to wait, but considering Ghana is one of the most difficult, if not the number 1 most difficult embassy to get a visa approved in ( Even before the ban). start racking up lots of visits and proof of all the time spent together. Trying for a K1 after 1 visit together ( Unless it was for months or years) isn't going to go anywhere come interview time . From all the posts I have read on VJ from people dealing with the Ghana embassy/consulate it is very rarely a good post. I am not trying to say it's a waste of time, but it is a difficult road ahead. Know this going in, and be ready to dig in and not give up. I wish you the best of luck, and make sure you check out the local Ghana forum for peoples recommendations and help specific to the embassy.

Ghana isn’t on the ban list Nigeria is.
