  1. Today we received the approval letter for both I-130 and I-485 (concurrent filing).

Interview was supposed to be on March 25th, but rescheduled to Sept 8th. The interview only took 20min. Officer was very nice and at the end of interview he said he will approve our case. 3 hours later on same day, we got an update saying “new card is being produced” 😁

Status changed to “card was mailed” on Sept 11th. Then my husband finally got his GC on Sept 16th, which shocked all of us who saw the expiration year in 2030! We were approved for 10-year GC!

To those still waiting for an update, hang in there! The office is working very hard to catch up after the lockdown, but you’ll get there! Be ready for the interview and don’t be late! 😊

  2. Super late update, but we just received the approval letter for both I-130 and I-485.

Our interview was supposed to be March 25th and got cancelled. So they rescheduled to Sept 8th.

Our officer was very nice and at the end of interview, he reassured us that he didn’t find anything wrong with our case and that he will approve. 3 hours after, I got the notification from the case tracker “NEW CARD IS BEING PRODUCED” 😄

On Sept 11th, status was changed to “Card was mailed to me”. My husband finally received his GC on Sept 16th. Since USCIS is starting to increase their fees, I was worried that we would need to save up more $$$ to renew his GC in 2 years.. I was so shocked when I saw his GC expire in 2030! We were approved for the 10-year GC!!

Good luck to those still waiting for an update. Wishing you all the best.

That's  more reason to cull some  of the cases is all I can figure. I don't  know how they select which cases to waive, but I'm  a September 2019 filer and we were just  approved and green card is being produced. Our interview was canceled. I know of another person this happened too also. I suspect that in the coming weeks  we will see more of these.  I'm  speechless about it still.

Wow congrats! When was your interview supposed to be? And if you don’t mind me asking, what does the status say when you found out about the interview waived?

My interview was supposed to be for March 25th. Now the status is back to “ready to be scheduled.” 😢

  4. For those who had received your EAD card, did you guys receive the SS card a couple days after?

Today we called the USCIS and the rep told us she didn’t see the SS card being processed for our account *sigh*

I definitely checked the box though on the I-765 form to have SS card processed as the same time with the EAD. So we just went to the SS office and applied for one earlier. Thankfully it was a smooth process.

Thank you so much! And I'm glad you remember how weird my timeline is xD

My wife only brought her passport! I think that's the only think the officer needed from my wife.

As far as the interview goes it was really easy and quick!

I got the building at 8:50, but we were delayed at the building because there was a hold-up at the entrance with the security + we went to the wrong office.

So by the time we got to the right office it was about 9:05, checked in with the receptionist there.

And I think my name was called about 7-10 minutes after we had sat down.

The officer just asked questions about our relationship, and things on I-485 I've submitted.

She didn't even ask for any documents or photos that I brought with me. (She said I can leave documents if I want to xD)

And after bunch of "Have you ever-" questions, she told us that she will submit the approval application.

Interview probably lasted maybe 10 minutes, because when we left the building it was 9:30.

And after about an hour, I got a text message saying that my case has been approved!

I appreciate you sharing your experience with us. Your interview seemed indeed very quick and seamless, you guys are very lucky and well deserved. I wish the same for mine and everybody else here too!

    Couple of good news.

First, I got and accepted a job offer last week! I'm starting in March!

Secondly, I just had a green card interview, and one hour after the interview my status was updated to "New Card is Being Produced!"

It's been an exciting last two weeks! I hope everyone in this thread gets the green card soon too!

    Hello,

I remember you from the weird timeline guy 😃

Congratulations on your new job and new adventure with the GC! Would you be able to share your interview experience? Did your spouse bring birth certificate as well?

My interview is next month and I haven’t done translation for my birth certificate (I thought they wouldn’t need the sponsor’s).

Feb 13th: Our case is ready to be scheduled for interview
Feb 14th: New card is being produced for EAD

After I called them last week and had a bad experience with the rep; maybe they did got a chance to take a look at our case and start working again. I waited almost 4 months since they received my RFIE on 10/28/19.

    Filed 08/24

    Biometrics 10/09

    Double good news today!

Feb 19th: EAD card was mailed to me AND Interview was scheduled!

To everyone still waiting for interview schedule, hang in there! This upcoming spring should be the season we August 2019 filers have the GC in our hands. I’m praying.

@R&CMand @Mr & Mrs Snowmanit feels like we are all in very similar situations.

RFE received (in our case questions that made no sense at all; anyway we responded to them; maybe the same for you!) and the response received by USCIS a few days after.

    then just sitting and waiting.

I am worried that either 100% or nearly 100% of EAD approvals I am seeing on VJ are for people who either never got an RFE or got an RFE and then saw I-485 status move to "Interview Ready to be Scheduled."  we are not there... still stuck on "Response to Initial Evidence Received."  Worried that until this moves, nothing else will.

My case is also similar to this.

Received RFIE for birth certificate when we clearly sent in multiple copies along with translation as well. They received the evidence Oct 28 and no other movement since.

I called last month since they have received our RFIE more than 60 days without any answer, and the rep was nice and helpful, he did a case inquiry for me and told me I should be getting an email within 14 days. I called again today because it’s passed the 2 week mark since they opened the case inquiry, and this time the rep was indifferent and tried to talk past me when I explained our case situation. She clearly said she didn’t know why someone did case inquiry for me when my case was still in progress with the timeline, in fact I still have “24 MONTHS” before I could voice a complaint. She raised up her voice and told me they clearly received our evidence and we just need to wait.

I’m writing this to inform those who read this, that it’s basically our luck in terms of calling them. You might get the helpful rep, or you might have someone yelling at you for trying to look for help.

Just received interview notice in mail December 19th!

Wow! Congrats! I saw that they received your RFE on Oct 22nd? Your case is moving so fast!

They received my husband’s birth certificate on Oct 28th so hopefully my case updates soon 😭

Please share your interview experience with us after ☺️

Got a RFIE letter today. They are asking for the long version of my wife's Birth Certificate.

We got the same RFIE as yours.

The letter says “USCIS will only accept a long-form birth certificate which lists at least one parent.” We already sent my husband’s birth certificate that has the names of BOTH his parents 😅 but the original certificate was longer than regular paper. We’re planning to go to Staples to have it copied to full length.

    Did you already send yours?

Is there anyone still waiting for the biometrics appointment letter? I've sent my AOS in August 21st, and got the NOA1 by the end of that month, but I am still waiting for the biometrics letter.

Did you get the biometric letter yet?

If your case has passed 30 days since the NOA1 date, try to send Service Request on USCIS website.
(I tried doing that after 2 weeks of my NOA1 date, but the site said it hasn’t passed 30 days so I was not qualified for an expedite).

  12. Just got my biometric appointment letter on Friday 09/27 for Wednesday 10/09. Took a month since I got my first NOAs :(

Also the ASC office is different and far away from my last time I did my biometric and citizenship test. We also want to try walking in to a different office at different date, but we didn’t wanna risk to be turned away or mess up our process.

  13. I’ve read many of you guys didn’t receive text confirmations.. Did you send the G-1145 form on top of your AOS packet? I filled it out for each of my forms (I-130, 130A, 485, 864, 765).

For those who have not received any text or letter of confirmation yet, I heard it takes 1-3 weeks to process. If your case took longer, it’s worth calling them or chat with Emma on their website..

I think they will send me back the papers bc I printed double side. I dindt know that the don't accept them like that.

Anyway let me know any update from your case please

I printed double sided too for all my forms. I don’t think that would be a problem.

    https://www.uscis.gov/forms-filing-tips

Their website says we need to complete, sign, and use the most updated form. Nothing about single sided preference.

    Anyone else filed double sided?

Hi, We have the same timeline sent my AOS last Friday August 23, 2019 also paid with Credit Card but until now no NOA's.

Oops, actually I sent my packet Saturday 08/24. They processed my I-130 2 days after, but they got to my I-485 packet on 09/03 after the holiday.

Did you track your package yet? Try checking your bank statement and see if any pending charge from USCIS. Our timeline is kind of right before the Labor Day Holiday so maybe they put the packet on hold until they come back to work. They should have started looking through the packets by now. Hopefully yours is next.
