Ich habe in den 3,5 Jahren, die ich hier lebe, noch keinen anderen Deutschen getroffen. Und auch sonst keine anderen Leute mit anderer Staatsangehörigkeit in meinem Freundeskreis. Alles nur Amis 😬

War auch seitdem ich hier hergezogen bin noch nicht wieder in Deutschland. Und hatte jetzt insgesamt 3x Besuch aus Deutschland (zwei davon waren in den letzten zwei Monaten). Das war's 😅

Bist nur knapp zwei Stunden von mir entfernt 😁 meine nächstgrößte Stadt ist Bristol. Was etwa 45 min von mir weg ist.

Verständlich... aber im Vergleich zu den Alpen sind die Appalachen auch nur Hügel 😁

Berge (Hügel), Wälder, Flüsse und Seen fande ich immer schon am schönsten. War noch nie wirklich ein Strand- oder Stadtmensch. Deswegen finde ich die Gegend, in der ich jetzt wohne, einfach perfekt 🤩

Das wäre eine unglaubliche Erleichterung!!!  Habe mich schon mit dem Gedanken anfreunden müssen, dass ich erst in 20 Jahren die amerikanische Staatsbürgerschaft beantragen kann, da ich absolut keine Grundlage für eine Beibehaltungsgenehmigung habe 😫

I simply put in "N/A" on any form. Never had any issues.

I hade to change an error with them, sent an e-request, after that expired, I talked to a rep... nothing.

Then I sent them a registered letter explaining it all over again and provided the e-request number. Took about a month, but then I got an email stating that they corrected the error.

Durch (un)glückliche Umstände, wurde ich da dann nach glaube ich 5-6 Monaten schon shift lead.

Und das ist z.B. etwas, was ich hier in den USA liebe. Du kannst theoretisch auch ohne jegliche Ausbildung und Vorkenntnisse die Karriereleiter aufsteigen.

Bei meinem jetzigen Job arbeite ich seit 14 Monaten. Startgehalt war $17/hr. Durch Inflation, Schichtwechsel, usw. verdiene ich mittlerweile etwa $9/hr mehr. Hatte intern fast einen Job als Inspector bekommen (wären noch mal $2-3/hr mehr) und derzeit wird überlegt, ob ich den Fill-In Supervisor Posten kriege... und ich habe auch bei diesem Job komplett ohne Vorkenntnisse usw. angefangen. Im Prinzip, alle Supervisor, Foremen, Manager, usw. haben dort mal als gewöhnliche Arbeiter angefangen. Finde ich auch eigentlich gut. Die wissen dann zumindest, wie es da so zugeht. Wenn du irgendjemanden einstellst, der körperliche Arbeit nur aus Büchern oder Collegevorlesungen kennt, der hat immer unrealistische Erwartungen und ist etwas weltfremd 😂

I am from Germany and had my interview in Frankfurt. We had a 17 year age gap and the only question the interviewing officer had about it was "Are your parents ok with that?"... my response was something along the line that they are used to me dating older guys. She laughed and carried on with her questions. Lol

I didn't notice that asking for "technical assistance" doesn't work anymore. Just came across the thread that says "infopass" or "lost receipt" works. Took less than 10 minutes to talk to a person. But they couldn't help either. They said I should wait another week and see if I get a response for my typographical error request and if I don't, I should call them again and they'll send another one out.

So, I sent my ROC package in July and received my extension letter shortly after. Everything was correct, name, address, etc. About 2-3 weeks after that, I received my biometrics notice in the mail. The address was correct, but they erased my first name. It was addressed to "no given name" MY MIDDLE NAME, MY LAST NAME. Well, I thought, I could get it fixed when I go to the biometrics, so I didn't even try to do anything about it then.

I went to the biometrics appointment and explained what happened and they told me, they have never seen it before. They gave my paperwork to the officer and he tried to fix it in the system, but he couldn't. They told me, I have to call the hotline and let them fix it. I tried multiple times to talk to a representative, but couldn't get a real person on the phone. Even though it's not a typographical error, I filed the form to correct one. I was supposed to get a response by yesterday, but haven't heard anything yet.

I was already annoyed that I had to go to biometrics as it is because they had fingerprints on file and it was a 3 hour drive (one way) to the ASC... I was even more annoyed to hear that I had to go there because of a "name change", which they caused.

If I ever have to renew documents or apply for anything where they need to check my immigration status, they won't be able to. Proofing a name change that I didn't do is a little difficult. It's not like a name change from maiden to married name that I could proof.

So my question is... Does anybody know what I'm supposed to do now? I ran out of ideas. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I went to my biometrics appointment yesterday. I was already annoyed enough that they didn't reuse my fingerprints from AOS. Had to take an unpaid day off from work and drive 400 miles.

Well, turns out I had to go in for biometrics because of a name change. Which is in fact their mistake. They erased my first name for whatever reason. No one could tell me why or has seen it happen before. And they were not able to fix it.

They only told me to call the hotline and hope they can fix it.

Hopefully, they won't see it as another name change in their system and send me another biometrics appointment notice... I'm already tired of this s*** again 🙄
