Mine was close to 40 days after receiving the passport and that was during 'slow season' in early February so no need to panic just yet.
-
Mine was awhile, passport agency took at least 30 days to finally send it back to me, if i am not mistaken it was around 40 days after receiving the passport.

Maybe not the right forum but I thought people who recently obtained citizenship next step would be a passport.
Wife got her citizenship this year and applied for passport. Received the passport but now over 6 weeks and still no return of certificate.
I emailed them about it a few days ago. I then called and was given an address to request the return.
What happens if it was lost in the mail since they return using 1st class mail which is garbage for an important and costly document as that. I really don't want to shell out $600. I do not have one because vengeful ex wife destroyed or lost it moving out.
Anyone with experience with this situation??
It is still on the delivery window, i know it sounds ridiculous but some people waited for 60 days to receive theirs back. Mine took a little over a month to show up. The passport agency actually held my certificate for 30 days even before they mailed it back to me. If it gets lost the passport agency will not cover the loss (it is stated on their website), USPS will not cover it either, you will be on your own for the reissue fee with USCIS. Unless you really need the certificate for special clearance for a federal job a passport is all you really need. even if you petition somebody you don't need the original as long as you made a copy before you mailed it out for the passport.

I finally got my Naturalization Certificate on May 2.
03/05/2022 - submitted application at USPS Illinois. Passport book. Routine service with 1-2 day delivery.
03/16/2022 - check cashed. Status: In Process. U.S. Department of State received my application. (locator 55)
03/30/2022 - approved and passport sent.
03/31/2022 - passport received.
05/02/2022 - Naturalization Certificate received.
What was the mailing date on the envelope ? It’s amusing to me that they hold on to the NC for awhile before mailing it back.

Nothing yet on your NC ?

Hey guys, what documents are needed to take to the post office when applying for passport after naturalization? I wish to apply same day as naturalization so I plan to gather up everything in advance.
Passport application, naturalization certificate, drivers license, check or debit/credit card to pay the fees, Very important not to sign the passport application before hand! Only in front of USPS employee. They will take your Original naturalization certificate with the application but it will come back to you by mail at some point. 1 passport style photo, some USPS facilities don’t offer this service, make sure yours does if not got to CVS, Walgreens or the equivalent in your area to have your passport style picture taken before you show up at USPS facility. Then the waiting game starts.

Today i finally received my NC Intact! 36 days after receiving passport and passport card. It was shipped first class mail and postmarked March 21, it took about a week to get here. Now what i can't understand is why they held it for 30 days to send it back to me, they must be really backed up on that or they forgot to bring it to the Post Office. For reference i uploaded pictures of the envelope that it came in.

The national passport information center will not give you any help. They will tell you to write a letter instead to the US department of state for any inquiries. I'm curious though, is the cost of a NC replacement $700+?? I thought it was $150 for New York area. Other than the NC paper can you help me and tell me what other documents they kept because I don't remember at all what I handed them, other than the NC original document.
The only original was the NC, everything else were copies made by the USPS employee. So we have to pay the DoS $150 to conduct a search on our file if it comes out empty handed we have to pay USCIS $550 for a replacement of the NC and it can take up to 10 months to get it.

i haven't backtracked enough on pages here but since late February, 3 that applied received back their Naturalization certificate, everybody else still waiting unless some already received it but didn't bother to update here yet and/or are still waiting on the passport itself. I've been noticing most of you got sent to NH (locator 69) and they have been pretty good processing and returning documents, i think i'm one of the few who got Dallas, TX (locator 55) here so its hard to figure out the turnaround ( Mine has been 26 days from passport arrival and counting and no sign of my certificate... 😑 ). Hopefully everybody that still waiting receive it and in one piece.
-
Another one here, received passport and card on February 22nd, going on almost 3 weeks no sign of my NC. My stuff was processed in Dallas, TX (locator 55). I will wait a couple more weeks and make the call to the national passport information center to see if there’s any help with this. I’m definitely not looking forward on having to pay $700+ for a replacement and wait months for it.

Other than ImmiGeek, anybody else received back the naturalization certificate ? Mine has been 2 weeks that I received the passport and card but no certificate yet.
-
Received my passport and passport card today. Separate envelopes, both came from Dallas, Texas. Will see now how long to receive back the certificate of citizenship. Will update my SS# with the office in a few weeks.

My application has been approved, eta for passport and passport card according to the tracker is 2/27/22.

Mine is going into 2 weeks from submitting all the stuff at the Post Office this coming Monday (2/7), it is not showing in their system yet.

Did my oath ceremony on the 21st (Friday) went to do the passport + card on Monday the 24th, standard process, non expedited. Lets see how long it will take.
-
Had my oath ceremony on the 21st (exactly a week ago), nice and easy, we even got a Judge to do the ceremony that day just to have a little taste of what would have been if it wasn't for the pandemic. The whole thing took less than an hour. They kept the oath notice and the green card, got my naturalization certificate plus a package with passport application, a flag and some flyers about what to do when you become a citizen. I already submitted my certificate for the passport and passport card, once i receive those i will go to the Social Security office to update my status there. Good luck for the rest of you here, in my experience this stage was the easiest one of all during the whole immigration process (from visa to naturalization). I am still not completely done with immigration though, next now is my parents Green Card. See you guys around the forum.

Hello,
I have my interview in a couple of weeks and I have a question about it. I know I need to study the 100 civics question, and I will have to write and read some sentences, and we will also talk about my application, is there anything else I should study? I found this video on YouTube that says " Most asked n-400 vocabulary definitions" and I've never heard about this before. Do we get asked this as well?
Thank you in advance and good luck to all of you!
.
No, just that is more than enough to study. Those questions on this video are asked during the N400 (application) part of the interview, the IO does not ask for the definition of certain words, what i think this is is a video to make sure you understand what you are answering, remember you are under Oath during this whole process.

Not really surprised, they were pretty much cornered here by most for omitting info and not being fully honest.
