I'm glad that I found out this Japan Filers group. All the comments and experiences sharing are very helpful.

    We got DQ'ed: mid May

    Interview letter received: mid July

Interview at Tokyo embassy: mid Aug

Any pointers or suggestions on 1) interview questions and 2) document to bring (was told the embassy would send document list couple days prior to interview) would be appreciated.

I had my interview last month.

There wer no hard questions for me, just typical ones you see online (how did you meet? when did you get married? what does your husband do? etc)

To be safe, I took every document mentioned in the department of state website and documents submitted to NVC.

I also took my husbands's past 3months pay stubs in case they need proof for stable income.

Afterall, I only turned in birth certificate, passport picture, police certificate and my passport I think.

I was not asked to show any documents during the interview.

Each cases are different so I suggest you bring everything to the interview to avoid any problems.

    Good luck with your interview!

Wow! Congrats! What was the interview like?

    Thanks!

Interview was pretty straight forward, it lasted less than 10min.

    Some queations were:

    - name and date of birth of my husband

    - when and how we met

    - what my husband do

    - when and where I plan to move

Interviewer also asked if I am worried about rising number of COVID patients in the state im moving to.

No, that's what I'm confused about though. We didn't file 864a and they didn't request it . They just said 'please submit every w2/1099 on (person's name ) tax return or transcript. Now I don't know if we will have to submit 864a and transcript for her also.

He filed jointly but using his wage alone.

Maybe we can try to call them again.

I will surely appreciate it jou get any clarity on your end if you can let me know also?

Maybe you should file 864a to be safe.

Some other things may have to go with that also like

    Transcript

    W2

    Proof of domicile

    Marriage certificate

    🤷‍♀️

    Hi PSB,

I am on the same boat and would like to know the correct response to this RFE as well.

(I wrote a question on your profile page but realized you have answered some of them here).

Did you add joint sponsor's wife as household member of the joint sponsor?

We didnt add her as household member nor we didn't submit I-864A for her neither.

Congratulations! Interestingly, I got my I130 NOA1 on 12/17/18 and my I129f NOA1 on 9/4/19, and I applied from Japan, too. Just goes to show that there's no rhyme or reason to when an individual's applications get processed. Again, congrats!

    Thank you!

Yeah some people are waiting much longer for I-129 denial. I think we were just lucky.
