My early April AOS interview that got cancelled due to pandemic has just been rescheduled. Haven't received the letter yet, so no idea when it will be.

Anyone else on the same boat? How much further down the year are they scheduling in NY field offices?

I'm in DC. I got the e-mail saying that the interview had been rescheduled on Aug 6th, and the interview is Sept 4th.

  2. My interview has been rescheduled for September 4th.

I have not gotten the notice in the mail. I started worrying because it had been 10 days since I got the e-mail notification that the interview had been scheduled, so I placed a service request online for missing mail and they responded on the same day, telling me the date and time. No idea what happened to my letter!

I have not heard of anyone on here getting a new interview date yet, nor have any of our clients at work who had interviews cancelled. Apparently there is a huge delay in printing green cards and work permits at the moment as well. Good news about the ASC’s though. Hopefully things will start moving again soon however slowly.

I have also read about the huge delays printing green cards and EADs and I'm all out of words.

This came out today, some good news, furloughs are not happening for now (at least not in August).

    Hi DCers

Just saw the updated processing times for our office... looks it it went from 12-24 months to 8.5-30 months.

Honestly, not sure what to make of that... I guess it’s sort of good news if 50% of cases are being adjudicated more quickly? Any DC updates from anyone?

I think most offices now have the 8.5-30 months estimate, which is scary.

My interview was supposed to take place 03/19 and has not been rescheduled yet, I read that they will resume interviews in some places around 07/20.

I applied to renew my EAD and received a case number that starts with IOE instead of MSC, anyone else?

Just found this post. My interview was supposed to be Mar 26th at Fairfax office. Just saw Twitter that USCIS office will not provide any in-person service at least till 4/1. Guess our interview will be rescheduled. Please keep us posted if any updates. Thanks!

Thanks for posting this. My interview is on Thursday and you'd think they'd send an automated SMS or e-mail to those affected... maybe tomorrow.

I was so excited for this process to be over, now I'm thinking I might have to renew my EAD.

Hi all, joining in on the wait. Our priority date is 4/15/19. We actually moved to Virginia from Miami back in September so not sure how that will affect our timing but hopefully we’ll be hearing something soon! It’s good to see plenty of March filers getting their interviews schedule this month.

I have the same PD! Hopefully our interviews will be scheduled for the end of March or beginning of April.

I think I remember your nickname from the EAD expedite thread, that is bringing me quite the memories (and not the good kind!!!!!)

  7. New Card is Produced!!!! I still can't believe it :) Still can't relax hahah.

The news came just one day after they confirmed that they received my documents and a few hours after  my Congresswoman e-mailed me saying that she had submitted an inquiry on my case.

I will share the specifics of what I did in case it's useful for people that are planning on expediting: I expedited my EAD on the grounds of severe financial loss to a person. I told USCIS I had a job offer and they asked for proof.

    I only faxed three pages:

    1) Short cover letter (2 paragraphs. I did not mention being unemployed or paying bills, but focused on how great of an opportunity this is for me. It is a specialized position in the tech sector that the employer has found hard to fill. I mentioned advanced degrees and the salary and benefits, making the point that it would really be a financial loss if I was not able to take it).

    2) Job offer (no starting date, just stated that I had 7 days to accept the offer).

    3) USCIS e-mail.

Thank you everyone for sharing your stories on this thread and for answering my questions. It meant a lot throughout this process.

I feel lucky that it got approved in less than a month and wish the same to everyone on this thread. I know some people have been waiting longer which makes the process feel random. Best of luck to all.

TLDR: It seems like a job offer is enough proof to expedite EAD in less than a month these days (as it should be!).

That's strange... Usually they seem to assign it, send a response and close it on the same date from what I have seen and my own experience. Please let us know if you get any updates today! I'm on day 47 and counting since initiating the expedite.

I just got an e-mail saying that they received my documents and that my case is under review and I will receive a decision shortly. Then they marked the case as "completed".

So instead of 3 updates in the same day, I got 1 update on the 22nd, and 2 updates on the 23rd, just to make things a bit more interesting :) At least now I know they have my documents.

I hope you get your approval very very soon! 47 days is very long. Keep us updated!

  9. I never received confirmation that they received my fax with proof of the job offer. Today I checked my status online and it says that

"On July 22, 2019, your request to have your case expedited, referral number XXXXXXXX, was assigned to an officer for response."

Just this message. Nothing else. I admittedly got my hopes up thinking that an officer had opened my case and would approve it but it's past 6pm and nothing has happened. Is it normal for your case to be assigned to an officer and not have any response?

I started the expedite request over 3 weeks ago.

Fingers crossed for everyone on this thread. Going through this process is rough.

Have any march filers got their Advanced Parole yet? I’m hoping people are just forgetting to update their timelines because every time I look at my timeline’s estimate for AP it’s been pushed back. It’s gone from June 11th to September 9th!

There's not many updates on the tracker, but it looks like right now October, November, December, and January filers are getting their combo cards. Not sure if any Feb or March filers have gotten theirs without expediting.

Just FYI, when I contacted my congressman with all the documents, his office submitted everything to USCIS on the same day and told me that he submitted an inquiry on my behalf. So I specifically asked him does "inquiry" mean he inquired about the status of my case, or that he submitted the expedite request for me, he says the latter.

When I contacted senator, they replied that they've contacted USCIS on my behalf (didn't specify what kind of contact), but I did get email from them a week later that the case is routed for expedite.

This is interesting. The person I spoke to told me that only I can request an expedite, which did not seem to match other people's experiences here.

When I inquired why she said that she has been working there for 9 years and that the rules changed 2 years ago: congresspeople are no longer able to submit expedite requests, only inquiries. Hmmm...

Don't worry about it for three to five days, then you'll get a response to your request. If they reject you, you can submit a new request in five days if I remember right. If they didn't reject you, they will be asking for the fax.

You can contact congressman/senator at any time (I mean, as soon as possible), asking them to submit expedite request for you, this is not the same channel as the phone request.

Thank you for the response. If I can submit a new request in five days, it could still work out.

I called my congresswoman´s office and they told me that USCIS changed their process two years ago and congress people can no longer file expedite requests for constituents. She said that she could only submit a case inquiry for my case. I will bring all documents to them on Friday.

Thanks again, this is nerve wracking.
