When you enter the US, you can try asking CBP for their version of the I-551 stamp: https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2019-Mar/2019 Carrier Information Guide - ENGLISH.pdf (page 31)
It's the first one that says "CBP."
So my green card arrived while we were away in Cancun having our second wedding 😁😁 Came back yesterday and used my travel permit. Officer at Philadelphia airport just asked when was I approved, and he even let me show him a screenshot from my phone. They let me in no problem right after that.
So happy to have my green card in hand now 🎉
Best of luck to everyone.

Got my interview today. Officer asked us so so many questions, asked for pictures and evidence of bank account, insurance and any document with both our names. At the end she said she needed to look at my file and if she needed more evidence they would let me know within 90 days. Told her I was traveling tomorrow and she said to use travel permit and that if I get approved while away, won't have a problem coming back.
4 hours after interview, status changed to approved🎉🎉🎉.
Good luck everyone!!!

For those of you who already had their interview, how long did it take between the date of the interview letter and the actual interview date?
our interview was scheduled since october 27th. Received letter November 2nd, and the interview is December 3rd.

A question for those who already had their interviews: Did you bring a certified copy of your marriage certificate to the interview? We know we already sent it on the package but was wondering if they ask for it again.

January 2020 - AOS Filers (merged)
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
I traveled to Mexico the day after my AOS interview. I wasn't approved at the interview, so I asked the officer and she told me I could still use my combo card. That same night the system updated to Approved, and still I had no problem coming back (I was away for 2 weeks). Also, my GC was in the mail 6 days after the interview.
Make sure to ask the officer at the end of your interview. If they approve you right there, then maybe you could ask for a stamp on your passport to use on your way back to the USA.
Good luck 🙂
