    Hi everyone,

I am starting the process of applying for I-30.  there are some section i'm nervous in answering.  first we applied for the K1 visa in 4/2017 and got approved on 9/17 but we never went through cause there were some problems with family member being sick and we didn't have time before it expired and financially we weren't in a good place.  we have been together all this time and decided to get married.  for this instance we got a beneficiary A number.

so my question is do I enter that number when they ask

Have you EVER previously filed a petition for this beneficiary or any other alien?
Was the beneficiary EVER in immigration proceedings?

Do i answer yes to these questions?

Another question i have is when they ask about how many marriages, we have never been married before so do i enter 0 or 1 because we have 1 marriage together?
How many times has your beneficiary been married?

I'm scared of entering the wrong information and getting an RFE.

    Can someone please help.

Hi! We are abroad and we filed online. I recommend! Much easier and safer, you don't have to worry about shipping documents to the states and you get your receipt (NOA1) almost immediately

    Hi,

I’d asked this question in an FB group and that’s entirely up to you. We didn’t and I’m actually glad we didn’t because we had uploaded our info in an order which we thought was good... Affidavit’s, photos, trips back & forth etc basically in an order that made sense to us and it’s literally changed order and it’s now in a file size order! So we have things we didn’t necessarily want at the top, at the top!
You could do a cover letter but because you name every file you upload we found there was no need to. Wedding photos and simply named ‘wedding photos’ so it’s easy enough for them to click and view whatever they want/need to see based on how you name your uploads.

    Hope this helps

We're in the same position. We've been trying to pay and get a appointment for weeks now. And I know someone who's been waiting like 6 weeks. Apparently this specific embassy takes 2 to 4 months to schedule a interview date. Guess our luck ran out. I just keep praying and checking but nothing.

I haven't tried to fill out the DS-160 yet but what I understood from posts here is that there is no paper form of it, you fill it out online. After filling it out on the website you just need to print the confirmation page. I hope this answers your question, but I might have misunderstood

The instructions on the letter? It just said go to their website and learn about the K visa and preparation for interview.
On the DS160 website? It just said how long I plan on staying in the US. Obviously I plan on staying forever but since I'm applying for K1 would I just put 90 days since that's how long it's valid for?

LOL. Relax. The process takes months.

So, send in your application, continue to work on your relationship and focus on other things till you get your approval from the USCIS.

Then you can start the process with the consulate in Nigeria.

Bottom line is relax, focus on other things and don't worry or stress yourself.

The entire process do take 10-11 months, we are at the 10th month and still no Visa yet. and then after getting the visa, you now get on another road for AOS which at the moment looks like another 10-11 months process.  If i have to do it all over again ill go for spouse visa. the timing are not far from each other and the beneficiary come with green card.  For question 2, all the things listed will be done after i-129f approved, so you go about 6 months before that come in place. Question 3, your passport not needed, you just need to submit information page of your passport for the application.

#1. The whole process (USCIS, NVC, Consulate) could take 5-6 months but it could also take 10-11 months. Based on current trend, 10-11 month is more realistic than 5-6 months

#3. Your passport is not required at this point, so you can renew your passport now and submit the new passport with DS-160 later.

Currently 6 months is pretty realistic for NOA1 to interview if there are no RFEs and you're at a consulate without a significant interview backlog (Nigeria's averaging 54 days from arrival at the consulate to interview according to users here, which is longer than many). However, also note extensive post-interview administrative processing is fairly common in Africa, and no one has stats for how long that takes on average that I know of.

Hi Everyone, trust your day is starting out well... Being going through the thread and to be honest the information is very helpful and thanks for the those who have had their session and it was approved your experience is no doubt a boost to us.
Okay, the matter of the day- with the help of this thread my fiancee' and I have been able to put up the documents and other things we should be needing to complete the documentation process, so where I need a bit of clarification in regards to timing, what am required to do, etc.

So she planned to send in our application this week or by Monday next week , Question 1 could this take 5-6 month processing time? Then that's a really good improvement because a friend of mine who left last 3 weeks said it took Approx 10-11months
Question 2 Once we get the green light - meaning the application has been sent to Lagos Am I applying through the DS 160 form and also paying the visa of up too 95k or thereabout? do I get to do my medicals at that point and also my police report.

Question 3 : passport expires Oct 28, 2019, so i am applying for a new passport but we have done the documentation and ready to submit do we go ahead with it ?

I would also love to contact anyone personally via WhatsApp or email.

Thanks, a lot  guys for your response .. I will be checking to see the comments
