Congratulations! Were you ever informed that your interview was waived prior to seeing your card is being produced?

Congrats! What is your local office?

Thanks!! I should have put more info sorry!

My local office would be Buffalo NY. Also we are adjusting from K1 visa. No notice or anything. Lawfully app shows as followed
    -Fingerprint fee was received

-Case was updated to show fingerprints were taken

    -New card being produced.

When i saw the lawfully update i assumed it was our case was getting scheduled for interview. Had to go onto USCIS to make sure Lawfully wasn't mistaken 😅

hey everyone i have situation 😕 We sent our packet to Chicago 2 weeks ago today and it delivered by ups on thursday the same week. Unfortunately we havent heard anything since then. They didnt cash money order but there is nothing in our mailbox neither. Is there any email address or phone number that we can ask for the packet?

If it shows delivered it should be there at least. It took ours 28 days after shipping. No cashed check, no NOA1. We were freaking out. But 28 days later the check was cashed and we received the texts for all 3 packets.

  3. We just received out EAD/AP Combo Card today!! I was so happy to see the combo card instead of 2 issued.

    Filed 4/26

NOA1 4/27 (it was backdated from when the fee was cashed)

Package accepted and we received the notice via text 5/18

    Biometrics 6/23

    Approved 8/10

    Mailed 8/12

    In hand 8/15

We did file for expedite for job offer. However, no where in the history does it talk about the expedite, and we never sent any proof just using emma online.

Sorry for your situation, dont worry, I would feel the same way - but errors happen, maybe even the agent handling your case put your folder somewhere waiting, in those cases I always think is the person

did you clip all papers? check on top etc?

Wife did biometrics on 05/11/22 -- the form states is for AOS and EAD - but not for travel document

I asked the agent and 3 thigs can happen, they may use the same biometrics, send a letter to do new ones, or just it may arrive without any prior notifications..

I'm hopping it's just set aside. I quadruple looked over my papers. And last night looked over again since I scanned them all in. Everything seems correct. Binder clipped and check out front.

Will a copy Marriage License work for AOS package? Or does it have to be certified by clerk record office? Can it be certified some other place?

We just got married yesterday and Certified copy of Marriage License won't be ready till 1 week. We need to fill out a form then they will send it to our mail address which can take a while.

You'll want the certificate unfortunately. It is certified by the state, thats the legal document. Took ours about 9 days to get in the mail from NYC.

Hello, how many days should I wait if there is no sms or any other notififcation from immigration when the package is delivered to the USCIS lockbox? (I have sent to Chicago lockbox). How to reach out them? - has anyone right contacts? Thanks.

I called yesterday since its been 15 days since usps says it was delivered. They basically told me i had to wait until 30 days without receiving the receipt before they can look into anything.

Do you realize how many petitions and application they receive every day?  It takes time to scan process payments.  They will not process payments until your package has been deemed acceptable.    For example, if a package is rejected, they don't process payment.

hmm interesting. i never heard that at all. I always thought they take the money no matter what. Its the application fee. And yes i understand how many they receive every day. i get a few days difference, but I'm seeing cases that summitted weeks after mine was received at the office and getting NOA1. which makes me worry that even thought it was signed at the USPS whos to say they even have my packet. that's more so my worry. Government always accepts the money quick. That is what concerns me most. not the NOA1 is lacking but they haven't taken the money yet.

VIA USCIS I-485 page "When you send a payment, you agree to pay for a government service. Filing and biometric service fees are final and non-refundable, regardless of any action we take on your application, petition, or request, or if you withdraw your request."

From a purely banking/AR side of things, checks are generally slower for a few reasons.

Debit card payments go through near-instantly and the vendor receives a response from the banks that money has been requested/received within 1 or 2 business days generally depending on the time of day you initiated the transaction. Depending on their AR processes, they probably have a team that goes in and checks bank deposits on a daily basis so they can reconcile those charges and post them to their ledgers, plus credit the appropriate accounts.

Checks go to a lockbox and then from there they probably go to their facility that processes payments (accounting/AR) and I am willing to bet they scan the checks in the office and process them as an ACH. This is what I did when I was in AR. The check batches then get entered into their accounting system and posted to the appropriate accounts/ledgers.

That being said, I don't know what their internal processes are for once they receive a payment and credit an account. I've worked in AR/AP for several years and each company does things a little differently. My role when I did AR was to scan the checks and post the deposits to the bank, then my colleague would actually credit the customer accounts and generate receipts once she got the posted batch from me. USCIS probably does something similar since they have to deal with so many payments. There is also the consideration of paper checks being incorrect, the name spelled wrong, invalid dates, future or post dating, missing signatures, incorrect payee name, etc. These issues will all cause delays or rejection of the check payment.

Like I said though, this is just from a banking/AR side of things for processing the different payments. There can always be other reasons why a payment process is delayed, and why it might take some filers longer to receive a NOA than others.

thank you for the info! thats kind of what i was thinking is it is possible overall the check could add a few extra days to the process. It would be nice if VJ would start to track that. great statistical information.

There are no concrete answers to your curiosities unfortunately.

You can't make facts out of current observations because of a trend.

That will only hurt others as trends change.

I mean that is exactly why we fill out our profiles. for statistical trends right? Our time lines all say

    Processing
    Estimates/Stats :

Ah, if only we knew how USCIS works....

"trends" change and what works now might not work tomorrow.

true however that's how statistics work. I work with many predictive modeling scientists and its part of their job. Its never exact, but at that moment at that time we can get a general idea. Philippine embassy during covid was near nothing now its beginning to ramp up so we can use trends to predict and get a rough idea as to how its progressing.. The initial shutdown really hurt the statistics, but now things are becoming to be more "normal" so the statistics are getting much more consistent. Again its part of why we fill out our profiles on visa journey. for the statistics and predictive modeling of the trends.

also yes i did fill out and submit the G-1145. hopefully i hear something soon. i cant believe the govt wouldn't want its money asap. But it is what it is! It would be really interesting however to do a study on card v check and see if there is a trend line, plenty of VJ members to mark card or check to see if they are comparable or different.

Stop comparing your cases to others. It's only going to bring frustration. Been there, done that. Back in 2019 NOAs were taking 10-13 days. I got mine after 60 DAYS. I almost had a heart attack until I got my NOA. From there on, it went smoothly, got my interview waived and my green card in under 6 months. So much stress for nothing.

i guess i should word it more like are card filers quicker than checks? it seems many more card filers seem to get quicker noa responses. i get not comparing to others, but it is why we have people fill out the profiles. it helps to build a rough estimate. would be nice to know are check filers longer than card at this point.

Your first mistake was comparing your case to anyone elses.

Noa1 can take up to 30 days to come in the mail.

There is no timeline for any other in-between stage.

You may place an email enquiry to the lockbox if you have not received your Noa1 after 30 days has passed since the shipment was received not sent.

    Relax. Immigration is a process.

i know its hard to compare to others, but seems like a vast majority similar to mine is within the dates. im curious as to are checks slower than card payments? its also good for future filers to know what is a better route. if i dont hear anything ill definitely send an enquiry, but it would be nice to see if others on the checking route are having similar  longer processing time than card filers.

  13. Hey everyone! i started to compare others around my date for the AOS. Seems like 10-13 days is pretty common to at least get email notifications. Many also used a card to pay.

I have signature required which was April 27. I still have no NOA notifications, or a check withdrawn from my bank. I'm starting to worry something is wrong or was misplaced as many others seem to breeze right through this. anyone else (in the 2022 file dates) over 14 days with checks being cashed?

    Thanks!

Yes! So it got delivered on April 28 to Chicago lockbox. Our card was charged on May 06, and then we received 3 texts on May 09. But when we checked the case tracker our case was last updated on April 28. So guess it just took a little while to charge the card and send texts. No updates since then! Hoping to get biometrics scheduled soon like everyone else

thats great!! im hopping thats all it is with mine. we had signature required so i know it was delivered on april 27. But the check still hasnt been processed in my bank. Maybe i  should have gone with the card instead. Starting to get worried now!

any update on yours yet? i was received one day before you still waiting for my check to be cashed. weird as a few people had their received dated after us but got the noa1 notice before us too.
