Good morning guys, please I have a quick question. I recently sent my AOS packet and got a text msg from USCIS with details of receipt numbers for work authorization and advance parole but didn't get for I-485 ( APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS). Please, is this normal?
I actually received 6 text messages and all of them were labelled for form I-797. But I saw it was 3 different receipt numbers, so I put it in my USCIS case check and they showed as receipt numbers for each form we sent.

It looks like credit card packages are being processed in 2 days. Checks and Money Orders are taking weeks.
Not true. They received our package on 11th, text message received on 16th (Money order) I guess it's about luck.

oooh I see the ssn verification hotline number is being used now! That makes me so happy that the number that helped us is getting around, we were going to make a thread for our story and how we used it for the hotline, and ask for it to be pinned because everyone should have access to the phone number, should we make this thread?
I'm so thankful for you! I've been talking to dozens of USCIS and SSA people and each is telling me something else. I actually didn't get the same answer as you on the line but I'll just go to SSA office tomorrow and tell them the same thing they told you. Hopefully they'll listen and call them.

When you submitted the application for your ssn did your name match your I-94 exactly? My husband's I-94 didn't show his middle name, instead it combined his first and middle name as his given name. We filled out the ssn application with his first and middle name as his given name and left the middle name section blank. He got his card in three weeks.
The lady said I'm getting back as mismatched but I do not have any middle names, the way she typed it in was correct.

Has any of you had trouble getting SSN? I'm having nightmare experience, everyone is telling me different information, both USCIS and SSA are useless. I applied on 31st July and then again 5th of September (the first application for declined as DHS couldn't confirm me and SSA told me to apply again) and I can't find any info what should I do to get it done. Waiting for EAD or GC might be impossible as I need SSN for my military card and health insurance with it. My husband is deploying in 12 days and this has been hard.

Got my NOA today on the mail.
When did you send the AoS? Ours was received (according to USPS) on 11.9. We sent money order so can't check based on the money!

Do you mean certified copy of the marriage license or marriage certificate?
Sorry, misunderstood your question 😅 we sent CERTIFICATE. Marriage License is the paper that allows you to get married. Marriage certificate is the paper you get after you get married that proves your marriage.

Maybe a lil dumb question....how did you "incorporated' your passport pictures in the file? I have 2 pictures x 3 (AoS, EAD, AP). Did you put them in the back behind every form or did you clip them to the forms somehow? Thank you

Possibly a dumb question but in the first post it says "certified copy of marriage license" and the USCIS website says copy of marriage certificate. So I just want to make sure certified copy of marriage license is fine?
we are gonna send the certified copy as I saw on here that some people got RFE for not certified copy

Phrasing it differently....where did you put the number 1 if you are in 2 people household? (It's just me and my husband)

You're currently married
If I do that (put number 1 in the married part), that will put the size oft he household as 3 (it does automatically) which is not true.

Hello guys I have question about I-864. Which box did you tick right at the beginning? "I am the petitioner. I filed or am filing for the immigration of mu relative."? I am adjusting from K1 visa.
Also in Part 3, 29. Enter the total number of immigrants (no kids), I put 1 but then in Part 5, it will automatically fill in the number 1., I put 1 in 2. but number 3. If you are currently married, I leave blank? Even my husband is married to me? However I am already in the first part?
Sorry if this is stupid question, I am just confused. My total household size will come to 2 which is correct just the "married part" confuses me.
Thank you

UPDATE: Went to SSA today, they actually said that Homeland security had issue with verifying my stay. They said I came too early (3rd work day after arrival) and should have waited for the 2 weeks so I am in the system. Some people had zero issue going to SSA early but I guess it depends. If you can wait before wedding, go after 2 weeks mark just to be safe and don't have to wait like me. I had to resubmit my application now.

11 weeks?!?! That's insane! He basically can't do anything without his social. Can't get on my bank accounts or mortgage or anything. It sucks!
Not totally true. We got Wells Fargo joint bank account without my SSN no problem, Spectrum and car insurance put me on my husband's stuff also. So it depends on the place. I went to SSA on my 4th day in US, got application in no problem but I've been waiting for 5 weeks for it already and now was told by the office they lost my paperwork so have to do new application🙄 in Texas they just needed my passport for marriage license

Since a SSN still hasn't been issued you might be eligible to submit an affidavit stating that you've never received an SSN: https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/ssn.htm
We tried that but the guy at the office said that as I already applied for it, it would be false statement.

You can try going to the SSA office to check the status of your case. Don't call the 800 number as they won't be able to look up your case.
That's what a lady at Temple SSA told me though that she can't check it. I'll try to call later to get someone else.

Oh damn 😲 I really need it as I need it for my Texas driving license and my husband is deploying in a month so I'll be without anyone to drive me around 😭

Hello everyone! I've just received 3 letters from USCIS, all labelled as I-797C for each form I sent. The one for I-485 is that the one that will prove my legal status here and I should have it on me with passport wherever I go?
