Hi everyone!
Thought I would just share some positive news in light of all the craziness 2020 has brought us. I just visited the Philippine Consulate General Los Angeles site and found the attached notice. The notice indicates that effective 12/07/20, Filipino citizens and their spouses/children (including former Filipinos for that matter) are now exempted from the visa-free suspension! In other words, looks like some of us don't have to submit a crazy amount of paperwork to obtain a visa anymore! Woohoo!

I think that's exactly what is happening. Not sure how they'd ever be able to track down everyone they deem applicable and demand them to pay up, but still it's crazy they'd put something out like this to freak people out, especially with the hardship everyone is facing with COVID-19 right now.

PhilHealth must be going broke so is grasping at anything and everyone. Looked at the Acorn insurance that was jammed at us here in the States and figured #######!

Thanks for the feedback! I agree -- for OFWs residing in another country temporarily for work/other reasons, it would make some sense (as you are ultimately still holding residence in PH), but for those who permanently reside elsewhere, it would not make sense.

Yeah my wife has paid in to SSS or Phil Health at all since arriving here in the USA. That ain't going to happen

The "members" word is used continually throughout that document, even in the heading

Key word is MEMBERS ... not the population in general.

My wife and I stopped in Seoul on our 10-hour layover to the US and even went out to explore the city. Neither of us needed a visa -- they just briefly checked our passports. Hope this helps!

Most do without issue. However, the CBP has been known to "hangout" at the TSA checkpoint from time to time

Your attorney is wrong........Once the I-94 has expired, your wife is out of status and subject to deportation.......until the I-485 is filed....only the I-797 is evidence of having filed.......It probably won't be an issue with TSA........but CBP is a different matter......

Why hasn't it been sent? We got our NOA1 within a week of submission . There is always a risk.

Just an update: my fiance got his visa and packet today. No update from USTraveldocs status. I couldn't look up info on 2go, I tried all three ways. But he did get a text from 2go around 830am saying they're delivering today(Saturday). Thanks everyone! 😊

Just curious, has anyone tried 2GO tracking yet? UStraveldocs shows passport is being processed for delivery(as of yesterday). But I checked 2GO using passport #, UID and MNL# and got nothing.
