Hi everyone,
I received both I-751 request to appear for initial interview and N400 naturalization appointment letters asking me to appear on May 1, same time/location. It will be 2 years this Oct since I applied for my greencard renewal so I went ahead and applied for naturalization, which was processed/scheduled within 2.5 months. My question is, I-751 letter says my spouse needs to be present and I need to bring all related documents, whereas N400 does not require my spouse to be present, and only required basic papers. Which one should I follow? TIA!

An I-130 has been filed for each child, correct? They are not derivatives, correct?
That’s right, they both have a pending i-130 which I filed myself as permanent resident. The current visa bulletin is looking promising, but I may be able to expedite it with a USC status.

Is your child in or outside US? How old?
I guess your child is outside US.
They are 19 and 16, and outside the US.

Hello! I’m scheduled for naturalization interview on May 1st. I have a pending petition for my minor children (priority date Oct 2021). Can anyone please guide me on how I can update their status once I become a USC?

I had to go out so thought I would at least stress the important thing.
F2a can age out to F2b, I can not know how likely that is.
Naturalise before the oldest hits 21 and the issue goes away as the child is locked in.
Thank you so kindly for this helpful info. I looked into current processing time to get my citizenship and it is risky. I’ve just spoken to my spouse, and we will reapply with her as petitioner.

You will not need to wait for a visa number to be current.
How old are the children?
I see. They are now 19 and 16

Normally your Spouse would have petitioned for them as there is no wait for the minor child of a USC, visa'a are always available.
I assume there is some reason you did.
Pride. My strong sense of independence. That’s the reason lol. I obviously wasn’t practical about the approach and thought doing it all by myself wouldn’t take this long 😊

You need to look at Table A on the Visa Bulletin, they are category F2A. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2024/visa-bulletin-for-january-2024.html
As you can see, those with PD's of 1st Nov 2019 or earlier now have a visa number available to them. So just keep an eye on the Visa Bulletin and then when the PD for your country/category is later than your PD, that's when they'll be added to the queue for an interview and the file transferred to Manila.
When will you be eligible to apply for naturalization?
Yes, I’ve been eligible to apply for citizenship since October 2023. I haven’t had time to process it because of work. Will it make a difference on expediting this petition if I get my citizenship?

Hi all,
Can someone please help me understand the Visa bulletin info? I’m a permanent resident who petitioned my minor children. They are documentarily approved and has a priority date of October 6, 2021. No correspondence yet since approval from NVC. I checked with the consular office in Manila and they don’t have the papers yet. How do I check in this bulletin when they might be scheduled for an interview? TIA!

Hello,
I’m processing my I-751 Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. I received a notice on Dec 9th saying I don’t need to go since they can re-use my old biotmetric info. My Case Tracker app confirms this. However, I received another notice soon afted saying I’m scheduled for biometric tomorrow 1/3. Should I still go?

Thanks so much!

Whether your flying PAL or not this will give you a good idea. Also I had thought flights to Cebu had resumed.
https://www.philippineairlines.com/en/covid-19/arrivinginthephI booked round trip tickets with Eva Air. I guess they are still confirming with the local government if we’ll be rerouted still since my flight itinerary has not been finalized yet.

Assumption was the OP eventually will want to return to the US
Hi, yes, I have a round trip ticket. I would assume the same people who will get me quarantined will advise if me if this test prior to re-entry to the US is mandatory in my country

Hello! I booked a flight home to the Philippines in 3 weeks. This would be my first trip home since I received my green card. I’m supposed to land in Cebu from LAX but last time I checked, they are still rerouting my destination to MNL for a mandatory 10- day quarantine, even if I’ve been fully vaccinated since April. Other than the exorbitant expenses for the “quarantine facility” (which I need to book asap) and swabs, is there anything else I need to prepare for? My PH passport is still valid.

You still have to stay in a "authroized" quarantine hotel for 10 days, and you still have to take a COVID test.
The Philippines is still making money off this, Corruption at it's finest
This is the part I hate the most

Hello,
I received my green card earlier this year and I got my Covid vaccine (J&J) last month. I’m looking to travel home to the Philippines to visit my family. Will my Covid vaccine card be honored or am I still going to be subjected to the 10-14 days quarantine period in some hotel after I land in NAIA? Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I'll be sending out my (k1) AOS packet this week. I arrived here June 23rd and married July 20. My i-94 says Admit Until 9/19, but my k1 visa says it expires December 3rd 2019. I've read that it takes 1-3 weeks for the NOA1, should I be concerned about my i-94 expiry date?
NVM, it says 9/19, not 9/9. Sorry. I'm on edge with all these AOS paperwork. Thanks!

Hello,
Any suggestions on a debit card I can get here to transfer my paypal funds to? I’ve only been here two weeks on a k1 visa so I’m not eligible to open a bank account yet. Also, will I be able to withdraw from my Metrobank (Philippine bank) debit card from the atm machines here? It’s a Mastercard so I should be able to use swipe that, right? Tia!

Hi, I’m scheduled for dual I-751/N400 interview too, tomorrow. Did you have to bring the documents you submitted like tax records, etc? Or just the basic requirements as stated on the letter?
