Honestly just reading this post sounds so damm suspicious.
I remember when I went for my green card. If you get that women interviewing you. You may as well just leave.
this story just sounds sketch.

If you been denied I would guess that you have zero to no chance of getting anything.
as for the green card question. I got mine in 6 weeks after landing and social in 3 weeks.
been here almost a year!
-
I got my ss about 4 weeks after entry and my greencard about 2 months after. ive been working here for almost a year
-
your husband can work. his IR1 has been issued. the stamp on entry to the USA 'activates it' my employer took a copy of my visa and stamp. that was enough to work. the green card when it arrives, trumps the visa. as the visa eventually expires after one year
-
ye, I only knew about it because I read a blog post somewhere - suggesting to do it that way. but really doesn't matter since the stamp is good for a year.
oh some offtopic advice music - get yourself an RFID wallet/purse since the card can be read by rfid reader.

In the mail. Like everything else.

Where did you go to get the green card?
On Saturday.3 weeks after landing in the US.
but we didn’t do it through the Nvc. We did it ourselves
-
can take up to 8 months with the nvc sharing info
-
we kinda cheated - since we knew that if u tick the box on the nvc form it can take month. so we didn't tick it. I just went in there and they did it for me

imma be straight honest with you. This is not going to end well.
you need to slow dowN and figure things out. This will cost you a ton of money if you don’t.
when I interviewed for my green card. I watched people get turned away for a lot less.
ive read what you posted and I honestly believe that if you recount this story to a visa official you will be turned away -out of pocket.
i say this from a similar story I witnessed at the embassy.
But this situation is not great.
