OMG, just saw my USPS informed mails today. It showed me two mails from USCIS. Thank god!! I have no idea why I am so excited.... lol

And this is the problem jessinnyc is experiencing ,- cannot make an appointment  and an Extension letter has never been received.
 
Right, you need a "combo" of an Expired green card & Extension Letter ( I'm honestly having troubles to find where I've stated a green card is not needed,?t)  or you can request  -I-551 stamp -  if both, Ext. Letter and green card got expired, OR an Extension letter has never been received . Which is the case.
 
While my I-751 was pending, I traveled with tthe combo" and later, when it got expired,  just with the stamp in my passport -  both worked just fine.
 
jessinnyc, if no Extension letter and somehow you will be able to get an appointment scheduled, make a copy of your green card - it can be taken in exchange for the stamp - depends on your local USCIS office.  But you never know until you are there.

Just scheduled an infopass for 2-12. Card expires Feb 28th. There wasn't anything in the mail last night.

We were in the same situation - until we went into the local field office. On the spot, they gave us a 90 day extension and submitted an e-request on our behalf, saying we never received NOA1. Today we got it in the mail - an official 18-month extension letter. Thank you God.

Two more letters from USCIS in the mail for me today. They definitely don’t save on their stamp expenses 😉

My two letters was oddly enough 2 new extension letters. Exactly the same. 
 

Hi @Evetorres28, from reading this forum I learned that many members either did not get the extension letter or got it late. What you can do is to wait 30 days and file e-Request https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do by choosing an option "Did not receive notice by mail".

Hello, good evening, I sent my package on December 18, 2018 I got a text message with case number December 31, but I have not received any letters by mail, I have not received the extension. can someone tell me if it's normal or should I wait longer.. Thanks

Do not use an attorney! You can do anything and everything by yourself. This forum has lots of useful resources. If you have a question - just ask, we are here to provide an absolutely free input.  

If you are traveling out of country, you need to make an infopass to get your passport stamped.  

Still in an early stage, must be a glitch, my case updated first the fees were waived (which they didnt - also never applied for that) to case received. I am sure everything is ok. Given the timeframes on the processing i wouldn't worry about anything right now. Dont drive yourself crazy over it - it will take time - all that stress is not worth it.

The TX lockbox is not the same as the TX service center so I'm sure you sent it to the lockbox as it is that address they have under where to file on their instructions. 

I just called USCIS. They said that they sent my receipt notice on 12/31/2018. However, I never received it. So the lady on the phone escalated it and made a duplicate request...now more waiting....sigh

I'm sorry to hear that. We're in the same boat. It had been 3 weeks since we called and were told they would re-send the notice. Never got it. Since GC expires in 11 days, we made an appt at our local office and went in and were given a ninety day extension. 

I highlighted certain stuff (loads, actually!) in yellow and it was fine.  I sent the package loose secured with a large clip and an elastic band round it.    I also used sticky tabs to separate each section
