My status changed to in transit! I’m really happy as I was starting to think they wouldn’t ship!
Did you receive a notification from NVC or did you check it online? Mine still says "At NVC". 😭😭😭
Also would you mind sharing the link you used to check your status? I just want to make sure I am using the right website. Thank you.

My status still says At NVC despite my case number being assigned on the 11th. Hopefully it ships tomorrow?
Mine too. My case number was assigned on 03/09.

I used the same website and mine says "It's Ready", I think everything is slow due to COVID-19; just wait a little bit and try contacting them again.
Thank you. I assumed that as well. I will definitely be reaching out once more this week.

I was wondering the same thing!!
Where are you checking online for any status changes?
I have been using this, not sure if this is the only avenue to get information https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV
Are you using something else or are you aware of another website we can use? If so, would you please share it with me.

I was able to call them this morning and they were not able to let me know if it would be mailed today or not.
Our case was received by NVC on 02-28-20 and it still says the same "AT NVC".
On a side note, the representative wad unaware of today being the mailing date...The rep was very hesitant to give me information as well, he also refused to tell me if it would be mailed out today or whenever. I do plan on calling back tomorrow if I get no updates.

Hey, has anyone received a notice from NVC letting them know their case has left for their consulate? Our case was received by NVC on 03/09 and I know a shipment goes out today, but I haven't received any notification telling me my case left. So I was curious to know if anyone else received any intel or they're waiting as well.
When I checked online it says "At NVC".

Hi All! I wanted to let you all know our case was received by NVC on Monday 3/9. I got our case and invoice ID number. I just had to wait 35 mins to get an answer, lol.

- How long is it taking approximately for them to receive the application and create a case number?
30 days to NVC and 1-2 weeks for case number to be assigned. Your mileage may vary.
- Also I read you don't submit a affidavit of support until you're in the US
Not true. You must submit your financials which is included but not limited to I-134 and the new DS-5040. Each embassy is different so wait till you get your P3 letter for the most up to date information for your embassy.
- as if it's required before the interview is even scheduled
The DS-160 is required to be completed before the interview and most embassies are requiring you to complete as the confirmation number is used in the interview scheduling phase. Again, your mileage may vary.
If you haven't already done so many of these topics are talked about in the PDF file found on the first page of this thread in the first posting. Download a copy to review.
Hi, is it DS 5540 or 5040?

Hi, I did this already. I followed your link to be in the February thread when you mentioned it to me. I've downloaded the PDF & read it. I am just waiting for time to pass to call NVC for my case & invoice number. Do I need to be in the March Thread as well? Thank you.

Hi All, I have a question to anyone that can help me. Should I be worried that I haven't received any notifications from USCIS about our case being approved and my account hasn't been updated either. The only place that has our approval notice is https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do I called today and the person said that our case was approved but she basically just looked the same place I looked. So... I don't know man. I guess I will just wait for the notice since I should be getting it soon.

Public Charge form DS-5540
It has been reported that a CR-1 visa applicant at their interview yesterday was requested the new DS-5540 form. As the applicant did not have one, he was put on AP and requested by way of a 221(g) to complete one and return it to the embassy. Once received the entire case will be adjudicated to an outcome.
Since I can't say if this is true for K-1's, as I heard, they were exempt if they had filed before Feb 24th. Since this is so new and so many speculations are whirling, we will hear different stories until the dust settles.
This is all I know. I'm not going to be able to answer any questions because we and I don't know what the requirements are and how each embassy is going to handle this. I recommend that you get a copy of the form and have it filled out for the interview to circumvent any delay.
Hi @Greenbaum I have a question about this, I just wanted to make sure that I read this post correctly. Are you saying that the DS - 5540 form doesn't apply to those who applied before Feb 24th? However, to be on the safe side we should fill out the form and take it with us to the interview? Thanks for your help in advance.

Q1 Also, what is P3, and how do I get that? I found out from this guy named Greenbaum, who also authored the PDF, states that he has most of the P3 letters. At least that's what he says in the PDF.

All medical exams are done in Guyana. 2 doctors can do it—once your case gets to the embassy, they’ll email you and you’ll schedule an appointment with them for the interview. Once you have the interview date, you’ll call or email one of the physicians on the list and tell them your interview date. They’ll give you a date within five or so days before the interview so you have enough time to do the exam and get your results to take with you to the embassy.
Q2 Is there a forum for the Guyana Consulate? No.
More specifically not for your consulate, but there is one for the regions where Guyana is situated. So looking at the list of links in the PDF, the one that I would choose is the Caribbean, as that is the one that most reflects the regional area that Guyana finds itself in.

Now you have everything you need. Greenbaum stated a while back that he created the PDF file because he was constantly being asked all the questions/information in the PDF file over and over. It just took up too much of his time to help with the answers over and over. See where I'm going with this? Everything you asked for in your post here is in that PDF file. Greenbaum did his part now; you can reap the rewards of some very helpful information.
Good luck with your journey. As a gift of gratitude, you can send him his favorite beer, a case of Dos Equis, but the Lager addition. I'll let him know to expect it.
Hi @Greenbaum thanks so much for all your help!!! This was very useful information.

Hello All!!! Our case was approved today. I have looked at the PDF on the 1st page of this post. I have a few questions that I am having trouble putting into words, but I will try after I have read the document once more. As for right now, can someone kindly tell me if there's a forum for the Guyana Consulate? Also, what is P3 and how do I get that?
I appreciate any help I can get, as I am not so knowledgeable on what is expected of me or what happens after the approval. THANK YOU ALL!!!

Day #120
When I called and spoke to a Tier 2 Officer last week, she said no one has looked at our case since October 30th.
Hopefully you get it soon! I have been following your timeline.
What number did you call to speak to a Tier 2 officer?

Hello, I hope all is well with everyone!
Question- I do not earn above the poverty line right now. I am currently seeking a full time position. In the event that I do not find a full time position in time to show a job letter and that I earn above the poverty line, will a joint sponsor suffice?
