  1. Hi all,

Just received our I-797 NOA today, extending the conditional residency for 18 months.

    Package sent: 8/20/21

    Package received by USCIS: 8/24/21

    Text Received: 8/26/21 (MSC Center)

    NOA Notice Date: 8/26/21

    Check Cashed: 8/30/21

    NOA Received Date: 9/1/21

Also, I guess everyone is adding their details to this sheet? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uJwpaHzGIuuvbVMXK5h-F8KH3hCh88kMxpxC4uOJOk8/edit#gid=681140248

Good question.  I would think so, if for no other reason than the approving consulate unit would want to thoroughly review everything directly, before signing off on it.

Do local embassies need sign off on cases before it gets marked as 'documentarily qualified'? Don't the cases get complete based on NVC review and local embassies do a check when the case is sent to them?

  3. Hi all,

Our CR1 case has been complete for a couple of a month and we have been waiting get an interview date for ages. 2 days ago, we got two notifications from NVC in our CEAC:

    (1) Appointment Cancellation Email that says " We previously notified you of the date and time of your immigrant visa interview at the U.S.Embassy/Consulate General in SINGAPORE, SING.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to cancel this interview. We will schedule a new interview appointment as soon as possible and notify you of the date and time. There is no need for you to take action at this time."

The weird thing is that we NEVER got a notification for any interview being scheduled for us.

    (2) We got another notification soon after mentioning that our case has been documentarily qualified - which is the SAME message we got when our case got completed back in February. All our documents have been received and approved for ages. Why this mail again?

Has this happened with anyone before? We changed our embassy location from Mumbai to Singapore on 3rd July - could this be because of that? Thoroughly confused.

  4. Hi guys,

We are a CR1 couple waiting for our interview to get scheduled at a local embassy. In the meantime, I am thinking about visiting my spouse for 2 months (already have a B1/B2). Work isn't an issue because my office is ok with me working remotely for this period. Do you foresee any issue for me visiting for this long? Have others visited for 2 months or so before and did you face any issue with that?

I will obviously carry my employment letter, lease agreement, return ticket, bank records etc.

    Thanks in advance:)

That's my guess, I could be completely wrong. However, in some cases, after the interview consulates do issue 221G requiring additional background  checks (mantis).

Yes I think they do background checks at all three stages - USCIS, NVC and at the local embassy. But wouldn't NVC do the checks BEFORE marking the case as 'documentarily qualified' and putting it the queue for interviews? Seems weird to me that they will do this afterwards and then also not tell us that we were in administrative processing.

I know we are all just speculating and will never truly understand what's going on 😕

  6. Hi all,

Our case was documentarily qualified on 01st Feb 2019 and we were in queue to be interviewed at the Mumbai Embassy (we recently changed this to Singapore). All cases that were completed after ours (except one) and before April 19, have received their Interview dates and we haven't. When we call NVC then say everything is fine with our case and we are in the queue. I can't figure out why would we be skipped and fear something must be wrong at the backend.

Has anyone else been in the same situation? I am worried that even though we've moved our case to Singapore, we will continue to be skipped!

Here is the link for India, but I do not see the scheduled appointments section: https://in.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/

From what I've been learning India has more than one U.S. Embassy so maybe play around with that link.

Here is the one for Santo Domingo for comparison: https://do.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/

The link was on the bottom right labeled "scheduled appointments"

    Hope that helps. Good luck!

Thank you!! Goodluck to you too!

Looks like Santo Domingo might be done with August interviews. They've scheduled quite a few. (see last pages of link provided).

I'm really hoping it's not true, but if anyone has some answers please shed some light.

QQ - How did you get this link? Trying to figure out to get the same for another embassy.

    Hello Rohit,

It took precisely a month to schedule an interview. We received an email on Feb 20, 2019 that our case has been forwarded to the embassy for scheduling an appointment. On March 13, 2019 we got the interview letter via while. That's when we scheduled all our medical work and got it out of our way. It took 3 visits to have the medical examinations taken care of. Our interview was on April 17, 2019.

The interview was rather simple, but make sure you take all valid proofs, tax papers, even the tax transcript for that matter... all sorts of evidences that make your case stronger. You never know what they ask for, so be prepared. Best wishes :)

Thanks for sharing. To confirm - this is for the Islamabad consulate or Singapore?

What look so long ? 158 days . Should not take more than 90 days according to nvc . Is ur petitioner us citizen?

Yes. We are CR1 with CC-01 Feb 2019.  NVC has not been able to tell us why we haven't been scheduled while others with CC after ours have been. They say everything is fine with our case and we will get scheduled when we will. They also say 90 days is just directional and doesn't mean much. Our Senator outreach also hasn't resulted in anything concrete so we are just waiting at the moment. Our lawyer says that the process at NVC is just erratic and some cases bear the brunt of that chaos. Most of the cases should be ok though - think we just got unlucky.

  11. Hi there,

We are a CR1 couple waiting for our Interview to be scheduled and our case has just been moved from the Mumbai Embassy to Singapore ( I've been living here in Singapore for the past year). Just wanted to check if there are other couples waiting for their immigration interview at Singapore too? Or if there are other couples who recently had their CR1 interview, then would love to get an understanding on how long it took for your interview to get scheduled.

    Thanks,

    R&R

  12. 158 days in waiting for us - but reckon we are an outlier.

BTW - I had seen someone share this link in one of the previous threads so resurfacing it if you didn't see it - This provides a monthly overview of immigrant visas issued by each embassy:

Congrats. Do you know why it took so long?

Why they took so long to move our case? Well, the first time they just "missed" our request so we had to resubmit. It then took them around 2 weeks to reply to that.

However, we still don't know why we were not scheduled for an Interview at Mumbai even though our CC was completed on Feb 1. Here's hoping that things move faster with Singapore.

    Hey guys,

I post our case update in every month's forum so here we go again:

    PD: 03 May 2018

    CC: 01 Feb 2019

    Type: CR1

    Embassy: Mumbai

    Status:

    • Waiting on IL - NVC won't explain why cases after ours have received CC and we have not
    • Expedited by ourselves - Denied
    • Expedited by our Senator - Denied
    • Outreach by our Congressman - NVC responded to them mentioning that our case was complete and was in line to be scheduled. Didn't explain why cases after ours have received CC and we have not
    • Inquiry sent to NVC requesting Embassy change from Mumbai to Singapore 4 weeks ago ( I live and work in Singapore) - NVC 'missed' our request and accepted it was their oversight. Asked us to resubmit. We resubmitted 2 weeks ago - Now waiting for their response.

    This has been literal hell.

Update: Our case finally got moved to Singapore. Phew!

Is anyone waiting for a Singapore interview here? I doubt I have seen anyone over the past couple of threads...
