Ceremony was at USCIS Memphis (3 hour drive from home) at 11. Got there 30 minutes early, but they didn't let us in till 10:45.

Everything was very well organized, started almost on time. We were 20 taking the oath. The ceremony lasted 10 minutes... and immediately had to walk out! Tried to take a selfie with the certificate and the flag behind me while walking to the elevators, lol, so the security guy offered to take it for me. :)

It was not what I had imagined, of course, but I am happy to be now a citizen and so glad to be done with USCIS, lol

    Yay!! Congratulations!!! :)

Guess I will have the same experience next week :) Did you all have to wear a mask?

Oath Ceremony was a success. Everything went in the format as described on the guidelines mailed to me earlier. We observed social distancing, wore masks and had sanitizers everywhere. Everyone at the court house was nice and pleasant. The ceremony took only 30 minutes between checking in and the entire ceremony. So glad this journey is finally over. Good luck to everyone. :)

    WooHoo!! Congratulations!!!

Oh well, I am gonna stop checking my account for a while then :D

Good luck and let us know how the ceremony goes :)

I got an email from USCIS Memphis office that they would schedule me for an Administrative Oath Ceremony at their office. However, they wont be able to recognize my name change request. I said Yes! Hopefully, I will get the Oath Notice soon in mail.

Yes, I'm sure you'll get it soon!

Actually, I got three email notifications. The first one was, "On June 1, 2020, we cancelled the oath ceremony appointment scheduled for your Form N400, " which is weird because I was never scheduled for the ceremony before.

Thats weird. Might be a glitch. My estimation still shows June 2020. I'm so ready to get done with this!

    Keep us updated :)

The Nashville Court just posted, "As set forth in Administrative Order 150-1 entered on May 23, 2020, the Court will not conduct public naturalization ceremonies between now and June 30, 2020." 😒

I am hoping USCIS takes over considering the circumstances.

Oh no 😭 I guess our estimated completion date will change accordingly.

Oh no. I still had some hope! 😐

Hopefully our Court resumes ceremonies next month in a way that safety guidelines can be followed. Currently their website states, "...the Court will not conduct public naturalization ceremonies between now and May 31, 2020."

Is your completion time still June?

Yes, the completion time still shows June 2020.

Well, thanks to this I will be back to checking twice a day, lol. However, even though we are in the same area and my case completion also says June, my wait time says they are taking longer than expected. 😕

Anyway, I hope they are right with your estimate! - and wrong with mine. Please, let us know!

My estimated wait time now shows 'We are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time.😒

  9. I had my interview at Memphis yesterday and got approved :) Went pretty smooth.

My interview was at 7:15AM. We reached USCIS at around 6:50. However, the office didn't open until 7AM so waited 10mins or so before we got let in. The officer didnt call me until 8AM. Was just asked to show Green Card and no other document was asked. She started with the civics and history test. Below are the questions asked.

    1. What does the judicial branch do?

    2. What are the 2 major political parties in US?

    3. What is the political party of the President now?

    4. What is one thing Benjamin Franklin is famous for?

    5. Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?

    6. If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

For reading and written test, I was asked to read, How many U.S. Senators are there? For writing, I was asked to write, We have 100 senators.

She verified my name change request and said it wont delay the process so I went ahead with it and said I would like my name changed. She verified my phone number and Address. Asked if my husband and I lived separately during the entire period and then asked the Yes/No questions from the application. That was it.

She said the Oath Ceremony will be in Nashville and that I should get a mail in 4-5 weeks.

Also, my Estimated case completion time changed to May 2020

@ak_2018I have a friend in Louisiana that had her interview the same day as mine. She too had her citizenship approved on the spot. She told me that she requested a name change...and...guess what? She said that she already received her oath ceremony date and it is for next week Friday at 1:15pm. So I guess, we really do not know. I also was speaking to my Lyft driver this morning and he too just got his citizenship approved 2 months ago. He said he requested a name change and it took him 7 months before he got an Oath Ceremony date. I guess you will never know exactly? Maybe it is really depending on where you file and how fast that facility is and the amount of people that are applying for citizenship etc?

Ah! I guess its random then. You never know.
