I opted for delivery, they gave me 10 working days. I've just checked the CEAC status an it says issued, last updated yesterday, 4/11. My interview was on 4/10.

This actually raises a new question: has anyone who's also opted for delivery received a Correios tracking code? So far I haven't got any emails or communication of any sort. I want to make sure I'm home when the delivery is due.

Thank you! Please keep me updated if you remember. My fiance opted for delivery also so I'm curious how long it will take to receive and if you can track it.

I couldn't get it delivered to my place because I live in a countryside city of Sao Paulo, and they wouldn't delivery to my CEP. So I selected to pick up at CASV in Sao Paulo, and a friend picked up and mailed it to me. I'm getting it tomorrow.

    Interview: 03/26

    Issued: 03/28

Ready to be picked up at Sao Paulo CASV: 04/03

When you say issued does that mean when the status changed to issued on the website?

I found this checklist here on VJ. It's from 2017, but I'm following it. It says Declaração Sob Juramento, which I believe is a new intent to marry letter.

Thank you! I think for the most part matches the instructions here: https://br.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/the-interview-2/

I'm just curious if they require a new letter from both of us or just the beneficiary. I guess I will just send him a new letter to prevent any trouble.

@Moraesm can you let me know when you schedule your interview for?? I see we're about 2 weeks behind you so I'd love to hear your timeline. Hoping the interview wait time of 2+ months out is going down since the holidays have passed.

Thank you in advance! And good luck 😊

Never mind!! I see you updated your timeline...I should have checked that first. 😂

Thank you to everyone here keeping your timeline up to date. We're just a few weeks behind you....final stretch for us all! 😁

Folks! My CEAC finally says "Ready!"

I have a very newbie question: I need to go https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ to file and pay for the DS-160 and then here: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-br/iv to actually make the appointment, right?

In this case, at the CASV website, which options is the most appropriate (or that you folks have chosen without any problem):

    - I have received a Consular interview appointment date from the NVC...

    - I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register... a K visa appointment.

@Moraesm can you let me know when you schedule your interview for?? I see we're about 2 weeks behind you so I'd love to hear your timeline. Hoping the interview wait time of 2+ months out is going down since the holidays have passed.

Thank you in advance! And good luck 😊

Links to P3 and Embassy instructions, maybe your answer will be contained within this link. I have gathered a lot of information and provide links to other places here on VJ to answer your questions.

Thank you! I know that someone in this thread mentioned that Brazil requires the original, signed I-134 form. However, do what you want with this information....I did email ImmigrationRio@state.gov and they said that copied version is fine. I still plan to mail the original I-134 to my fiance in Brazil just in case.

Those shipments everyone is referring to are when NVC sends them to the Embassies. As for the appointment dates, if you go to www.ustraveldocs.com and login, or create an account if you don't have one. Once you choose your country it will show the next available appointment. I don't think you can see specific dates beyond the next available unless you've already paid your visa fee.

Does anyone know if it possible to check appointment dates for Brazil? The website, www.usatraveldocs.com, only directs me to the U.S. consulate in Brazil's website.

    1) I don't think so. The doctor is brazilian.

    2) Unfortunately there's nothing you can do to help them get a tourist visa. They are the ones that need to prove they have enough ties to Brazil and won't stay in the US, like a job or education.

    Thanks for the response! 😊

I understand that they need to prove their ties to Brazil. My concern is if it looks bad if my name is used as their US citizen contact on their tourist visa application while I currently have the K1 pending for their child/grandchild. Hope that makes sense!

  9. Hi everyone! Just received our approval on January 16! Now we are putting everything together while we wait for the next steps with NVC, etc. I have a couple more questions to anyone who may be able to answer:

    1) Do my fiance's vaccination records need to be translated to English?

    2) My fiance's mother and grandmother need to apply for tourist visas to come to our wedding. I would like them to put me on their application to ensure approval (yes we have met many times). However, does this look bad to have a pending K1 and have more people from the same family requesting a tourist visa under my name?

    Thank you! 😊

  10. SOOOO happy to announce we finally received our approval!! We were approved on the new site, no alerts received. Still says received on the old website and app. Now we are just waiting to receive the official NOA2 in the mail. 😊

    NOA 1: July 16 (old website)/July 19 (new website)

    Approval: January 16 (new website)

Good luck to those of you who are still waiting...it will all be worth it soon enough!! 😊

    Folks... Folks, Folks!

We got a silent approval! Her dad just checked the mail today and the NOA2 was there! None of the websites have been updated as I'm writing this post.

She's with me in Brazil and I'm immensely happy that we get to celebrate this before the end of our vacation together! We're stoked.

    NOA1 - Sep/25 (old) - Sep/30 (new)

    NOA2 - Jan/08

I wish you all get your approvals soon!

    September?! Congratulations!

  12. Random question to anyone who may be able to answer:

My fiance has 2 original copies of his birth certificate which he has laminated to preserve them. Do you see this as a problem that although it is original, the actual paper cannot be touched? He believes it should be fine because it has been preserved for 29 years :P, but of course I'm worried!

    Thank you!

Happy to help as we just had our interview last week.

    1.  The photos for the medical I made myself. I don't know about the passport phone app, but there are tons websites that you can use for making passport size photos and many of them you can select the 3x4 cm size. I did that, printed it and shipped it.

    2. First, the K1 interviews are only done on Tuesdays. In the past they have sometimes opened up Mondays, but when I scheduled mine, there weren't any Monday options. The medical should be complete 3-5 business days prior to the interview (it depends on the medical facility & city). You can call and ask the medical location where she will test how far out they need the appointment before the interview. The biometrics appointment is scheduled at the same time as the interview, you can do that as little as one day in advance, depending on their schedule and availability. Please note that both the medical & biometric appointments don't have to be completed in Rio. My fiance lives in a large city, so he was able to do them in his city prior to travling to Rio. Depending on your fiancee's location, they may want to have the medical and biometric done in a nearby city.

Hope this helps answer some of your questions!

Hi there! I just wanted to confirm that my fiance is able to complete the biometrics in Sao Paulo prior to the interview in Rio? Thanks in advance!
