wow I am sorry it has been that long, is that related to embassy issues? Best of luck for you!

Hello. Yes , the American embassy in Havana was closed from September 2017. So we were moved to another US embassy for process. That embassy is Georgetown , Guyana embassy. So it's been very slow since they process other countries there as well. Hoping that they start moving along soon. Will keep everyone updated.

My question is for booking flights being that Cuban beneficiaries do petitioners have to travel to another embassy.  How far in advance would you say is needed to be in Guyana and how many days after the interview does one need to stay in Guyana I’m just wanting this information in planning ahead when interview appointment is set.

Flight should be 2 days before medical just in case. And after interview is approved it can take up to 7 business days for the visa. Hope that helps.

  3. Hey guys. I am so happy for everyone that has gotten there interview and have had there interview.  Congratulations to all. January is officially coming to an end. For those who have interview in Guyana , I am DQ / CC Feb 2019 and still no interview. It's going to be 1 year since I had DQ / CC now in February. Hoping this ends soon. Wishing everyone the best and that you don't have to wait as long as all us Cubans folks have to. Will continue to keep everyone posted.

  5. Hey everyone. It's the start of a new year. That means that it's my 11th month waiting for interview. That next month it will be 12 months waiting for interview , my 2 year wedding anniversary. And than in March it will be 2 years since I started this process. It's insane to think it's been this long and still no interview. Hoping for the best for everyone. Hope this ends soon for everyone. Will keep everyone posted.

  6. As a reminder to all usually service centers take up to a week or more to send cases to NVC , just in case your information does not update ( because it should update on the USCIS webpage were you check your account , it should appear as case was sent to Department Of State ) but if it does not you should call USCIS to make sure they send over your case. Once case is sent and received by the NVC ( thing you will have to call in to know because NVC will not let you know when they have received your case ) then you can start counting 4 to 8 weeks to receive Welcome email to start w NVC's 6 steps. Then it all depends on how quick everything is completed and then 3 weeks for a review of documents uploaded and then CC ( Case Complete ) or DQ ( how people are calling it now a days Documentarily Qualified ). Either one just means you are now in line to receive a interview.

OMG CONGRATULATIONS!!! I know the feeling. So glad to see July PD approvals moving along!! Congrats , if you have a good embassy than the worst is behind you!!

  9. Hello everyone. Yes another month but for us with slow embassies an eternal wait. For those Cubans waiting for interview in Guyana , I am cc or dq since February 2019 , 10 months in the wait and still no interview. CR1 wait times have increased to 14 months and counting !! There still stuck on cc / dq cases of December 2018! Ugh! I am going absolutely crazy. It's so sad!!

  10. The reality is that immigration processes are becoming more and more uncertain with time. It's a bumpy ride , cause you either have a service center that takes forever to approve you , or an embassy that takes forever to give you an interview. Or someone who has both scenarios. It's a process. I started this process March 2018 , I was in the Nebraska Service Center at the beginning wait times were like they were now , and then out of nowhere they sped up and then obviously slowed down. NVC will forever be the fastest process ever even if they make you resend documents again and again it will be the fastest process you will encounter. And then your stuck with the Embassies who like the service centers are a Russian roulette. Personally us Cubans with the closure of our Embassy in Cuba knew we had a hard task to face. But I never expected it to be this bad in the Guyanese Embassy when it comes to wait times , and it's gotten worst sadly. Because we were talking a few months ago of a 6 month wait for Citizens for interviews , we are now facing a 14 month and increasing rapidly wait for an interview. What I am trying to say by personal experience is that you will always have a bump on the road in this process , it never crossed my mind once that it would be almost 2020 , two years later and my husband will still not be by my side. But it also surprises me that time does in fact pass by fast , it does not seem like it , when of course your far away from the love of your life , but time does go by. This wait time won't last forever. So even if you have a slow service center or a slow embassy or both , everything is going to be alright. We can do this. We can make it to the end.

Us lowly Nebraska folk hope July 2020 will be our month 🤪🤪 God damn 12 months is ridiculous just for an initial review. 👎

I am very sorry. I was in Nebraska last year , but it's gotten way slower now. But hey your embassy is probably faster than mine. It's been 10 months alone waiting for an interview for me. Interviews currently extending its time up to 18 months!! And it's my 2 year anniversary already in February and I still don't know when he will be here.
