  1. Hey everyone!! So a quick update. I called nvc today. And they completed my case yesterday 02/04/2019. Turns out that , the checklist I received was just a letter letting me know that I have to present the transcripts at the embassy when I get my interview. So now I’m happy!! 🤣 Oh god nvc has no idea how nervous they made me. But it’s over now. We’re offically done for now. Now we have to wait for interview in Guyana! Best of wishes to all. I will keep everyone updated.

  2. Hey everyone!!  Guess what ?! We got a checklist 😡. There asking for my moms transcripts from 2017. I couldn’t get my moms transcripts online because all our phone numbers are under my dads name.  So I had to request them by mail. Ugh this wait is going to kill me. Don’t let this happen to you , send in irs transcripts , tax returns , w2 , send in everything!!! Don’t give them an excuse to send you a checklist 😭

I only sent 2017 tax return (1040A) and Every W2 listed on that return, you have to send the last tax return, it was accepted. Or you can send the 2017 tax transcript. Make sure if you are going to send the tax return to scan it in 1 file, and every W2 separate.

Thank you so much!!! You have no idea how afraid we were. Since our country is Cuba , we don’t send in the documents electronically. We send them through regular mail. So it takes them up to 3 weeks to review the documents and to close the case. But if there’s something missing they send a checklist and you have to send the documents again and wait another 3 weeks. It’s like an RFE from USCIS.  And that’s no fun when it’s taking 6 months to get an interview from our embassy. Thanks a bunch for your help , we feel better now. ☺️

Does anyone know roughly how long it takes for the entire NVC process? And how long it takes to get an interview date?

For what I’ve seen people are getting things done in a month or so. Now the interview depends on your country’s embassy. For example , my husbands in Cuba , our embassy is Guyana. It’s taking 6 to 9 months for an interview 😒. But all embassy are different. ☺️

Hey, congrats! I loved getting that news too! I haven't received a case number and here is my timeline:

    NOA1 : March 15, 2018

    NOA2 : November 5, 2018

Sent To Departament Of State : November 15, 2018

    NVC Received : November 26, 2018

    NVC Case#/IIN: PENDING

I've seen that other couples have tended to get a number from NVC within 4- 6 weeks lately, but then you have the outliers who also get theirs at 8+ weeks. Good luck and hope you and I can get a number soon!

Wow! Hope we get our case number soon. But you’re very close , so please keep us posted!! Best of wishes for you!

Does anyone know if NVC will close just Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. OR do they take off those whole two weeks ?

  6. Hey everyone! So a little update. I called NVC this morning at 7 am eastern time. Didn’t have to wait , was immediately communicated with a representative. And the very nice lady on the phone told me that my case was received at NVC yesterday 12/13/2018. So my case number countdown has officially begun! Has anyone received there case number lately ? How long did it take ?

Hoping everyone else hears something very soon!

So this is how we’re looking right about now

    NOA2 : November 26th 2018

Sent To Departament Of State : December 7th 2018

Wow okay. I hope my wife interview goes just as smooth later on. My wife is awaiting an interview date at the US embassy in Guyana. I know the questions will vary that they ask her since we don’t have kids and such. But I hope they don’t ask too much questions lol.  And once again congrats to you guys. Hope all goes well for you hear on out too.

Hey! I’m just starting the nvc stage , but can you keep us posted with the interview in Guyana ? My husband has to do his there too , and they say it’s taking a long time to get an interview.

Its not fast, not slow.  It’s about right to me.

    Out story so far :

We got approved on 19th September, and it was sent to NVC on 20th September.

NVC received it on 27th September

I called every week and was told it would take about 8 weeks.

We finally got our case number and invoice ID on 6th December by email.

    It took about 6 weeks.

The fees were available for payment as soon as we logged in. You pay one by one.

We we are waiting for fees to be processed so we can submit hubbys Avidavit Of Support , my visa application

    and civil docs

    Hope that helps😊

I had have question you said that NVC giving you your case number took 6 weeks. But if they received your case on September 27th , that means they took 2 months and 11 days ? Is this correct ?
