After 892 days, my spouse's I-751 application was finally approved. No biometrics, no interview, no RFE. Just silence for 2.5 years then approval.

He literally just got his second I-551 stamp in the mail 5 days ago (he misplaced his actual card right after we applied so we've been using those for travel). We really weren't planning on getting approved soon. So relieved.

He won't be filing for citizenship so this marks the end of our Visa Journey that started back in 2018. I'm grateful to this forum for keeping us sane for all of that time. 🙏🏽

My I-751 was received by USCIS on 5/1/2021.  We received the I-751 approval on 1/5/2023 without an interview and we got the greencard a week later.

I hope that others that are currently waiting will have the same luck. Next is the I-400 but we need a mental break from the stress.

whereas for YSC (Potomac) they're not even finished approving December 2020 cases......

It's time consuming, and because I am a WAC filer, I monitor those cases only 😅
I could write a guide of how to search cases if that's of any use?

Just got back on Monday through MIA with expired extension letter and stamp on the passport. We have Global Entry and the only issue we had is that since my wife's GC had expired it was not showing as valid even with the stamp. CBP officer sent us into another area to get the new green card expiration date updated into their system.

    Machine translation:

    Requirements: 1. Valid passport or identity and travel document that is valid in accordance with international law. 2. FMM duly filled. 3. The foreign person who is a beneficiary of commitments made by the Mexican State, in addition to the documents indicated, must present one of the following documents: a) Document proving permanent residence in Canada, the United States of America, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, any of the countries that make up the Schengen Area, as well as the member countries of the Pacific Alliance;
    Machine translation:
A foreigner who presents any of the following documents will not require a Mexican visa:
    a) Document proving permanent residence in Canada, the United States of America, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, any of the countries that make up the Schengen Area, as well as in the member countries of the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia and Peru).

The above is dated November 9, 2012 and updated “4/03/2022”, which presumably means March 4, 2022.

When we flew JetBlue last year to Cancun out of SFO, we did have difficulties at check in but ultimately got through. Personally we would have tried another airline or flown to San Diego or El Paso, walked into Mexico, and then flown a domestic airline.  There is simply no way I would let United or Delta cause me to lose non refundable hotel reservations.

For some reason I never hear of WN rejecting pax with extension letters.

I will reiterate my belief that extension letters, I-551 stamps, and endorsed immigration visas are stupid and USCIS should be issuing green cards.

This thread has run its course for me. Clearly data points won’t convince people to try and and we’ve enough evidence that extension letters can be accepted or rejected by airlines.

Enjoy the travel adventure.  I’m out, finishing up another week in Cancun.

We have not traveled with any of those airlines but you shouldn't have a single issue. They're old big airlines that must be familiar with this kind of document.
We traveled with a brand new airline a few months ago and the lady at the counter was knowledgeable and the process was amazingly quick- and we always arrive way earlier than we should just in case there is some sort of problem-.

As a side note, we have already traveled with the 18 month and 24 month extension; can't wait to travel with our brand new 48 month one! 😆

Hey, I have a pending i751 and I'm planning to travel to South Korea. Did anyone travel there with an expired GC and extension letter before ? How was your experience?

Their new cycle time goals are tied to every form under the sun but the I-751, so that likely explains why they've been de-prioritized.

This lines up with the historic processing time data trends (2018-2023).

    I-751 taking longer:

N-400 being prioritized (trying to meet that new 6 month cycle time goal):

If I was an officer and my performance was based on those metrics, I'd do the same.

Lmk if I'm off base with this. Got my spouse's 48-month extension letter today (YSC). Getting ready to sit tight for another year.
