Those things she said were disgusting and I am saddened that protesters can't be more dignified. I would like, however to have seen what the other side was saying, not that it excuses her behavior but obviously this was a one sided video.
There wasn't just one stupid animal shouting her mouth off. There were a number of protestors shouting and jeering. I don't need to hear what people on the other side of the street were saying to know the protestors we witnessed on the video are a bunch of monsters that need to be removed from society. I only hope that those protestors are recognized so they can be persecuted.

It's one thing to protest violence committed by a gov't or terrorist org and speak on behalf of your ethic/religious group but you can do it without bringing insults into it - I have taken part in some demonstrations on behalf of Tibet in NYC and the Tibetans that I rallied with would never say things like this - they are always careful to point out that they are criticizing the Chinese GOV'T and not the Chinese people and never use profanity or insults.
I agree, but one has to be careful not to paint everyone there protesting as being as vile and disgusting as the one woman in the video. It's just like the WTO several years ago. The protesters were peaceful for the most part, but there were some anarchists who got violent and many criticized the protesters as a whole. Given that this video was made by a Right Wing group, I seriously doubt we were seeing a fair depiction of what was going on or exchanged. There were protests out in LA yesterday - the local news covered it and nothing of this sort was reported.
Totally not true. I saw very umm heated arguments on the LA news last night. And a friend was there protesting a few nights ago and took videos of the signs people held up and things they were saying. Not pretty either.
So all the protesters are saying vile and digusting things?
well I didn't see any of the protestors trying to prevent their fellow protestors from shouting the most vile and heinous things ?? These people need a good kicking and a quick exit out of this country. Racist, dirty, nasty, filthy, scum is what they are. Lets get rid of MF's like this once and for all.
Who are you talking about? The KKK?
All the vocal people in that video, and all those who didn't do a damn thing to stop them and just carried on waving their banners and shouting their shite. So.... that would all those protestors then.

Someone should introduce an adults only airline. God knows we could all do with a break away from other people's offspring.
That is such a FANTASTIC idea, it really is. Once this economy sorts itself out, let's hope some bright young entrepeneur does exactly that. I would WILLINGLY pay a couple of hundred bucks over the odds for a child-free flight.
Isn't it? I think I might write to Richard Branson.... I am sure there is a hippy do-gooder law somewhere that says "brats cannot be excluded" so on second thoughts lets just call the airline "porn air" and see how many parents book their kids a seat ....
-
Attention everybody: If you are in a plane; keep your mouth shut, don't breath, don't move, heck, don't blink or you'll be removed from your flight.
Wouldn't that be nice? And no babies.
oh if only..... just completed a coach flight from London to DC (horrific I know but business was full). A kid about 2 years old or so cried and screamed literally the entire journey. The mother did absolutely NOTHING, seriously, didn't even acknowledge the kid at all. Someone should introduce an adults only airline. God knows we could all do with a break away from other people's offspring.

"As today’s weapons of mass destruction go, the human bomb is cheap. A Palestinian security official pointed out that, apart from a willing young man, all that is needed are such items as nails, gunpowder, a battery, a light switch and a short cable, mercury (readily obtainable from thermometers), acetone, and the cost of tailoring a belt wide enough to hold six or eight pockets of explosives. The most expensive item is transportation to a distant Israeli town. The total cost of a typical operation is about US $150 (£85). The sponsoring organisation usually gives between $3,000-$5,000 (£1,700- £2,830) to the bomber’s family.
I met an imam affiliated with Hamas, a youthful, bearded graduate of the prestigious al Azhar University in Cairo. He explained that the first drop of blood shed by a martyr during jihad washes away his sins instantaneously. On the Day of Judgment, he will face no reckoning. On the Day of Resurrection, he can intercede for 70 of his nearest and dearest to enter Heaven; and he will have at his disposal 72 houris, the beautiful virgins of Paradise. The imam took pains to explain that the promised bliss is not sensual.
There is no shortage of willing recruits for martyrdom. Hamas and Islamic Jihad generally reject those who are under 18, who are the sole wage-earners in their families, or who are married and have family responsibilities. If two brothers ask to join, one is turned away."

Unfortunately for moderate Muslim's, there are a few too many who buy the bull of the aforementioned Imam... I would hazard the assumption that the folks in Charle's picture could be counted among them.
So are imams such as this anomalous? Are they considered to be false teachers? What are they being taught in the universities from which they graduated? If they learned what they are teaching from their universities, wouldn't that mean their teachings are mainstream? If they didn't get their versions of Islam from the university, where did they get it from? Are there serious calls to have them removed and barred from teaching?
I was thinking the same thing. very good point.

She is incredibly boring to watch, she has no presence on a screen, her comments aren't exactly intelligent or thought provoking, and she certainly wasn't in front of Sarah Palin when looks were being given out. I'm no fan of Sarah, but I absolutely think she runs rings around Ms K. Regarding her use of the phrase "you know", it is highly irritating and if Sarah Palin had to endure a large number of people attempting to dumb her down by making fun of the way she spoke or the things she said, then Caz better have a thick skin !

Holy moly.
OK... after laughing I thought for a moment... what if the Iraqi dude had something dangerous in those shoes though?
Nevertheless, I'm with PD on this one. Hope he definitely got both his shoes back.
If he did the fault would have been with the presidents security.
I wonder would the shoe throwing moron have done the same to Saddam ?
i wonder if this story would get the same remarks about the shoe thrower getting his footwear back if the target was obama.
Absolutely. If Obama would willy-nilly and against international law invade a foreign country and get tens of thousands of it's citizens killed, the comment would be all the same.
I do see your point. Saddam was a kind and caring man who should have been left alone. He was never a danger to any other country and certainly never hurt any of his citizens.

I am very fond of the names Deirdre, Elaine or Linda for female cats. I like comedy names, which is why the new dog is getting called Dave.

...was the funniest sh@t I seen on tv seriously...why the HELL would you go to a country you destroyed, what else will you get except a shoe thrown at you! bush's sense of humor is all he has cause a heart, soul, or intelligence, and humnaity he lacks.
dude's a hero. you can kill all the shoe throwers you want, but you will never erase the hilarious outcome of this idiot's visit to iraq.
You have no idea at all do you ??

What I found disturbing is while 81% polled do not favour torture, that means that 19% do. So nearly 1/5th of the population believe that torture is acceptable? Now, that is frightening.
Indeed....
There are many many instances where torture is necessary to ensure the safety and security of all. There are people out there who would see entire west nations wiped out simply because of differing religious beliefs and being complete nutjobs of course. What would you like to do with terrorists for example? Send them a strongly worded letter perhaps?
Torture is one of those issues I'm kinda ambivalant towards. While I can see in some instances where it would be effective, we are a civilized nation in the 20th century. Aren't we evolved enough as a civilization that we don't necessarily have to resort to 400AD tactics? This is one of those things where you have to go to the source. Why do these people want to see the entire West wiped out? I can assure you, contrary to Limbaugh and Savage, it's not because our "freedom" or "religion". It's because of our foreign policy and meddling with other sovereign countries. (Look at Iran, Afghanistan, and Palestine in particular)
We can continue trying to develop countries to be subservient toward US policies, but we must accept the fact that intevening in foreign affairs will earn us enemies.
Oh another genius pipes up....
Angry tonight, eh?
Not angry, just trying to educate the left wing masses who continue to post here. Gosh its tiresome sometimes though.
Didn't know Matt was part of the left wing mass that posted here. way to go trooper.
sure goes to show ya what a great teacher you are.
if you aren't a lefty, don't print left wing ####### - its simple. Oh, and you are welcome

Give an example of a country who is subservient to US policies? The USA rebuilt Germany and Japan after they were destroyed. Would the Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at President Bush still draw breath had the target of those shoes been Saddam Hussein during his regime? In which city would a Chinese mother face harsher penalties for giving birth to an "unauthorized" child, Boston or Beijing? You have a childish, irresponsible world view where the good guys are bad and the bad guys are good. I am weary of this constant, idiotic, left wing assault on the most free, the most prosperous democracy to ever exist. Be very glad you are sitting at your computer able to freely type whatever you please, as opposed to a terminal in Saudi Arabia where you would be beheaded for simply having a copy of the New Testament in your possession.

There are loads of jobs in the DC Metro area with good salaries. I don't know why there aren't more people moving here personally. We have 25 year olds in our office on six figure salaries, nice homes, and great futures. Move here everyone !

buy cheap = buy twice !!
You can't go wrong with Tumi luggage. Lasts forever. When my brother was visiting here in September, he had a spending spree and had to buy an additional piece of luggage to return home with all his items. He picked up a large Delsey hard case in Macys for $129 - total bargain. My vote is definitely Tumi though.

what sane person answers an ad for a babysitter on Craiglist? hello? The parents really need to consider their ability to take care of that poor child.

He is just annoyed that he was getting a signing on bonus of $20k and now it has been taken away. All the gifts he purchased in advance of his advance are no longer paid for by the company that was hiring him. Whether it was fraud on his part, or his inability to understand the rules, he is a moron. I hope he bought a few extra sweaters - Canada is a little chilly right now.

I am saying the people on the video hurling the most vile of statements at others should be removed from society. I don't know how I can be any clearer. Do you wish to move this topic to racism in general or are we still discussing this particular incident?
