  1. I am a Jack and coke gal, with a taste for laurent Perrier Rose Champagne when budget permits ha ha

Love Diet Dr Pepper Berries and Cream but cant get that in the UK and it seems that they have stopped it in the US as well so it will have to be diet coke

And of course as I am British a nice cup of tea

ooh hello !! I am too quite partial to a drop of the old Laurent Perrier Rose. Also partial to Bollinger, particularly served as a Kia Royale. Water is good too...bah

  2. I probably would have taken a second shot just to make sure the ####### was dead. He died anyway so its no biggy. Bravo to the woman who took this monster down. Whether or not she had firearms training, it is a job well done. I hope through all her suffering at the hands of this beast, she feels justice is now served, and can try and rebuild her life.

  3. Buy a BMW. Always reliable and you get 4 yours free servicing to boot. They also leave a bottle of bubbly (not shite stuff either) in the trunk and give you a decent key ring. I saw a BMW earlier today in a custom purple color. The driver looked a bit "council" so I just let it go.

but when that time frame runs out...

you buy a new BMW :P

    bingo !!!

I have had a string of BMWs for the last 15 years or so. Really, I can honestly say that I have never had a problem with any of them. I have kept most of them the full 4 years too.

FLAGSTAFF, Arizona (AP) -- An 8-year-old boy is charged with murder in the shooting of his father and another man in a rural community in eastern Arizona, authorities said Friday.

The boy was charged with two counts of premeditated murder in the death of his father, 29-year-old Vincent Romero, and 39-year-old Timothy Romans, St. Johns Police Chief Roy Melnick said.

Police arrived at the home within minutes of the shooting Wednesday, Melnick said. They found one victim just outside the front door and the other dead in an upstairs room.

The boy, who prosecutors say had never been in trouble before, initially denied involvement in the shooting but later confessed, Melnick said.

Police have not said what they think the boy's motive was.

Defense attorney Benjamin Brewer argued Friday that police overreached in questioning the boy without representation from a parent or attorney and did not advise him of his rights.

"They became very accusing early on in the interview," Brewer said. "Two officers with guns at their side, it's very scary for anybody, for sure an 8-year-old kid."

A judge determined at a hearing Friday that there was probable cause to believe the boy committed the killings. He is being held at the Apache County juvenile detention center.

St. Johns is a community of about 4,000 people about 170 miles northeast of Phoenix.

You can bet that if the two men had conspired to kill the 8 year old, they would be on death row already, but I bet the little ####### gets away with it. His lawyer is already posturing.

This is what happens when just anyone can buy a gun then leave it laying around. Tighter gun controls would have prevented this!

what a moronic post. When you know absolutely nothing about a topic, its always better to stay quiet.

  5. the article said it wanted to prevent people from losing more money. i fail to see where stopping people from losing more money is a bad thing?

I didn't see anyone complain when the return on emerging market funds was a healthy 20-40 percent per annum.

Instead, the government wants to give you a fixed 3 percent annual return... 3 percent! Wow.[ Excuse me if I'm not impressed - I can make that much in one day of trading in my IRA account.

It is a joke isn't it? What also makes me laugh is the fact that there are people out there thinking "hmm - 3 percent - not bad at all.." Doh !

  6. It is all about control. Obama has always thought that the government needs to run your life. Him and his cronies can f-off if they think my 401k is better in their hands. So many people voted for this imbecile and they don't realize that he will tax the bejesus out of every single one of them. It doesn't matter how much you earn, Obama will find a way to take more money from you and then all those people on DC news channels that said "I will never have to worry about my mortgage again under Obama", and "Obama is gonna give me a pay day!" are going to be sadly disappointed. If you believe that the government needs to run your life because frankly you can't, then you voted the right man for the job.

  7. Can we now dispense with some myths?

We got the results I feared. I was hoping for a different result, but in the end the pollsters were again correct and it was a 5 point win for Obama, with a devastating down ballot result. When you end the night being glad that Ted Stevens might eek out a victory, that is a bad sign.

So here are some things that I think we now know for the future. If we want to get this country back on the right track, we better learn these and act on them:

    1) People are not afraid of Socialism, it is an acceptable political outcome. I'm going to be thinking a long time on why this is, but I think that it is a combination of lack of education within the electorate, a generation has passed since Carter, and the illusionary success of European socialism in our globalized economy.

    2) Bi-partisanship is a waste of time. You can't make nice with the political enemy and expect them to play fair or support you in any meaningful way. The PUMAs were interesting to listen to, but they weren't a political factor. The fact that McCain and Hillary are friends means nothing, and just serves to cheapen our positions. By the same token, mavericks should be marginalized, not given our nomination.

    3) Image, charisma, and articulation matters. If our candidate doesn't make the people who watch Access Hollywood say, "Hey! He/She is really hip and cool!", then we are toast. This goes for ALL of our leaders, not just our presidential candidate. We need people who can articulate our positions in terms that the voters can understand and resonate with. It took an Ohio plumber to put in simple words what was wrong with Obama's tax plan, and it came too late. At the end of the day, none of our candidates really stood a chance with this dynamic.

    4) You have to fight everyday if you want to win. When the opposition makes a mistake, you have to publicize it everyday and never ever let them walk away from it. When the Dems blocked reform of Fannie/Freddie, we should have been pounding home the message that the Dems were heading us toward a disaster. In the future, we have to loudly disagree with their socialist agenda, and when they inevitably fail, loudly condemn them for their failures. Their social safety net should be daily criticized for the failure that it is.

    5) Social conservatism does not trump financial conservatism. As much as it pains me to say this, abortion is not an issue that the majority of the electorate cares about, and frankly we have now lost on Roe v. Wade. The courts are lost for a generation, and there will be no turning back the clock. Social conservatism works for ballot initiatives, like Amendment 2 in Florida and Prop 8 in California. But the best we can hope for is state initiatives to enhance right to life issues on the edges. This was probably our biggest loss yesterday, and it is probably permanent.

    6) The education system and the media are devastating losses for us. With no mechanism to publicize our positions fairly, the new voters are being taught lies as truths, and we lose the propaganda war. If we can't find a way to get around this problem, we will be a political minority for a very very long time. The reinstitution of the fairness doctrine must be defeated, or we will lose even that small voice.

    7) Trying to fight fair, when the opposition refuses to do so, is foolish. Campaign finance reform is a crock, and using public financing is moronic. Until real reform occurs to stop voter fraud, we can't be left defenseless. In the meantime, we can either fight in the gutter, or we can lose.

    8) Similar to the social conservatism, 2nd amendment rights is not a political winner. Not enough of the voters really give a damn.

So what do I think can work in the future for us?

    1) A reform agenda - Palin has set the right "outside Washington" tone to benefit from the inevitable mistakes that the Dems are going to make now that they fully control all branches of government. Our congressional members need to enforce party discipline and eschew fiscal stupidity like earmarks. Then people from outside DC need to run on permanently changing the culture.

    2) Fiscal education - Strong leadership in teaching the voters the truth about tax policies. We don't have to get into what the money in the treasury is going to be used FOR, as long as we teach them why lower taxes result in increased revenues. If they think giving it to the UN is the best thing to do with it, then fine. But getting people to understand what is needed for a sound economy is critical.

    3) Media - We need to destroy the current media. They must be punished for their abdication of their duties within a free society. Establish alternative sources to reach the voters with our message. Financially ruin the mouthpieces of the Democrats. Buy the New York Times and fire their editorial board, replacing it with one leaning right.

    4) Grassroots - Establish a permanent and effective local political apparatus that can mutually support between states and districts. Share best practices, and provide technical and financial support between organizations.

    5) Win the hearts and minds - Low level voter education to target the youth and independents to teach them the core principles. Work outside of the liberal school indoctrination, or better yet, force the schools to give us equal time. We have to get past ceding political education to the NEA. We need to stop mind numbed robot Democrats from just showing up at the polls and blindly pulling the lever for the D.

    6) National level branding - Now is the time to begin an advertising campaign to dispel the myths about Republicans. We aren't racists, we aren't homophobes, we aren't war mongers. We need to change our public image, and that has to be done through a public relations effort. Pick a few core messages, and put them out in opposition to the socialism that Obama will be trying to push through.

    7) Leadership - Finally, we need leadership, probably as the head of the RNC. Congressional leaders are fine, but a strong RNC chairman that focuses on the Republican brand is critical for success.

An intelligent, well constructed post, that was a pleasure to read. Bravo A.J.

  8. Palin is sweet so let us put her in office. She is too sweet. That is perhaps the reason her 17 year old had a baby. Give me a break.

He met his dad only once, so because he has a brother by this same man, he should help him...

Obama's mom was 17 and unmarried when she got knocked up with him. That's why he won't go there against Palin.

Do you honestly think if his mom were 30 and married for 10 years when she "got knocked up with him" he would "go there against Palin"? Sorry, but that's really not his style. Two words: tactfulness and class.

I hope you are not suggesting that Obama is tactful and classy ??:rofl:

  9. Oh this just never ends does it. Why can't people see that McCain and Obama are not fit to be president. One is batshit crazy and heaven only knows what he will do once in power, probably ban cheeseburgers and cancel the month of March. The other is an elitist, lying, racist SoB who will ensure your life is a misery if you earn over $50k a year.

  10. It's been my experience that many buffet places (including "Iron Skillets") have explicit signs posted about buffet policy of "no sharing".

Based on this Linscomb is obviously a chopf##k, as well as a cheapstake.

For britty--I have gotten excellent Indian foot at buffets for $8; so for an American-style buffet (such as Iron Skillet), $7 may actually be half- to full-decent.

For this and the previous posts who also mention you can get a good meal for $7, I stand corrected. Clearly I don't get out enough.

  11. Conversational Italian but that is getting very rusty as I don't use it at all here. I can understand Spanish but not speak it strangely. I attended school with a group of girls who had Spanish/catholic backgrounds and they would always speak to eachother in Spanish. Eventually it sunk in. I used to work with a guy who was fluent in 9 languages (spoken and written).

  12. Come on guys, let's not get all OTT about this. There are always going to be whackjobs. We have no idea what Ms Todd's motivation was by suggesting that the McCain sticker inspired violence.

Ehhhh, I have to respectfully disagree. We DO have some ideas as to her motivation...just not exactly.

Her motivations were most likely a combination of SOME of the following...David Letterman style...

The top 10 possible reasons Ashley Todd Faked her Attack:

    10. Get attention

    9. Be a whackjob

    8. Meet McCain & Palin

    7. Do harm to the Obama campaign

    6. Increase number of friends on MySpace

    5. Go on talk shows as an overnight celebrity (see #10)

    4. Become a martyr and symbol of hope for the McCain campaign.

    3. Just something really evil to do before Halloween.

    2. Wanted to start a gang of people with backwards "B"s on their face.

And the number one possible reason Ashley Todd Faked her Attack:

    1. She was rejected as the replacement for Obama Girl.

    I would put number 1

"Lend credibility to an otherwise extremely flimsy story about stolen cash."

That's just my opinion of course. I don't really believe most of the political agenda side though and it is definitely OTT to go all 'it's racially motivated'. That's just way down the the scale of possibities.

Well, I didn't put the race card on my list...but since you've brought it up again....

Let's not be naive, she didn't say she was assaulted by a white man or "possibly a Hispanic or African American".

She was very specific, and went to great lengths (self inflicted injury) to perpetrate being attacked by a Black Obama supporter with great eye vision.

If she'd said it was some dark attacker or someone she couldn't make out, who saw her Subaru and said "I'm going to make you suffer you yuppie scum" then perhaps we could say "racial motivation was way down". Given the nature of the evidence, I'd say we can't rule it out, and that it has it's place in speculation, substantially high on the scale.

We really are in financial dire straits in this country when a Subaru now qualifies its owner as a yuppie. You normally see a hippy driving a Subaru so generally the driver will be a Dem ... and yes I await a full blown attack :D

  13. Trying to make his waaaaayyy hooommmme. Back up to heaven all aloooone.

Is heaven on the London bus route???????

I'm not sure about Heaven, but I have certainly experience Hell on the 207 Night Bus

The 207 vomit comet?? Doesn't that run past Southall?? I don't think anti-religious advertising will do any good on the side of a bus that runs through Southall - people already believe they are in hell if they live there.

  14. Definitely not a sheltie !! They really do need a lot of exercise and are extremely intelligent, so to be alone for long periods of time will result in a destructive and loud dog (they bark like crazy). We are in the process of adopting a golden retriever, however my husband works from home full time and I work from home 2-3 days a week so someone is always around. If you have a dog you really need someone around to feed and exercise it, and of course they require a lot of training and socialization with other dogs and people. ALL dogs need exercise so a dog will have you up at 6am for a walk and potty time EVERY single morning. We have two cats at the moment that have their own cat door as they like to roam outside. Aside from feeding them in the morning and evening, they pretty much do their own thing. The like to sit with us in the evening and play with their toys but you can leave them alone all day if you need to and they will likely just sleep. Also if you are away for one night, you don't have to have anyone feed your cat as you can just leave a big bowl of dry food for them and a big water bowl and they are fine.

  15. I didn't agree with the bank bailout and I sure as hell do not agree with this. That article claims that people are not incentivised to pay their mortgage due to negative equity. Well guess what homeowners? You should have read a little more about housing markets before you signed the contract. To make matters worse, some do-gooder is trying to devise a plan whereby these stupid homeowners are rewarded for their actions by offering them 30 year fixed rate mortgages at 5.25%. If that is the case, then all the people who are continuing to pay their mortgage should be offered a fixed deal for say 4.25% to reward them for not being stupid.

  16. Things I'm reading here give the impression that some think that the rich will give up their privilege, ownership, and influence, either willingly or forcibly, under an Obama administration, and that the masses will attain a higher status and more control over finance and the means of production. Some expect a soft revolution. I find this to be very interesting.

    What are your thoughts?

success will be punished, gun rights will suffer.

from my cold dead hands....

Bazza Obarmy doesn't like the fact that successful people are independent people. He wants to ensure that everyone is reliant on the government for everything. Some people are born to be sheep and follow. Others lead. Its just the way it is. If you are financially independent and have choices, then you aren't part of the machine. If you aren't part of the machine, then you can't be controlled. Those gainfully employed to a certain income level may see a reduction in their tax liability and that is no bad thing. Those who are welfare leeches will continue to receive just enough to keep them baa'ing, and higher income earners will be taxed even more heavily than they are already.

 Successful people will be forced to spread $$$$ to those that didn't have the initiative, ingenuity or are just plain lazy. No way in hell. I don't mind those genuinely needy people having enough to get by, and funding programs that help people improve their circumstances, but I sure as anything am NOT doling out hard earned $$$$ to tossers with nothing better to do than have more babies they cannot afford, or are too damn idle to research and DO SOMETHING themselves, and not make a career out of benefit filing!

    :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs: absolutely.
