sounds like this will be phase two, so not yet
Edit: actually, not sure. phase two is probably about issuing temporary work visas. I don't know anything about non-Americans entering the country or whether they will be affected. don't think this is on the table

Do you guys think this will block entry of visa holders who haven't yet been able to fly to the US?
sounds like this will be phase two, so not yet

Trump just said farmers will not be affected

It sounds like the original halt is for 60 days, not 30-90

Probably, I would think

I am still hopeful this will not affect adjudication of EAD and AP. hoping!

I was listening to him. It sounded like all green cards were affected but not temporary visas - including H1B, O, etc.

what about EAD / AP - any thoughts? also listening to him

Lockdowns could last longer than we think

@waitinggame: all a guessing game, no longer just waiting game.
We can all place bets. Or flip coins for that matter -
I actually wouldn't be surprised if it was just work visas/green cards. In which case id be screwed, to put it mildly. If he bans everything there will be much more pushback and chance for a quicker reversal.
Someone asked: yes, may Visa bulletin should definitely be out by now -

I wonder if the absence of a Visa bulletin for may at this point has anything to do with this

Copied from NYT:
A formal order temporarily barring the provision of new green cards and work visas could come as early as the next few days, according to several people familiar with the plan.
Under such an executive order, the Trump administration would no longer approve any applications from foreigners to live and work in the United States for an undetermined period of time, effectively shutting down the legal immigration system in the same way the president has long advocated closing the borders to illegal immigration.
It was not immediately clear what legal basis Mr. Trump would claim to justify shutting down most immigration.

Can he do this? What might this mean?

I hope you're right and they open on may 3rd! Though I'm in NYC so 2ho knows if this applies. Let me know if you get a new appt! Thanks

let us know how you're doing, good luck!

thank you for the correction. i don't know much about marriage law in the united states, just thought there might be folks who'd benefit from the news.
-
Right, so this might be helpful for couples already in the United states, together, but having trouble finding an open location to marry them.
