What are the eligible categories?

How did this turn out? Did you show your employer the webpage?

I'm also a resident for tax purposes. Is this their first time filing? My first year I did everything on turbotax but had to mail in evidence. This year, my second year, I was able to file online using turbotax.
Note: it is possible that the first time around I had to mail in evidence not because it was the first time, but because I did not yet have my state driver's license. -

I am asking because I would also like to expedite but I havent done biometrics.
-
Thank you, but I believe you did do biometrics?
-
Hi and thanks for this thread. Is it possible to do an expedite without biometrics, though? Thank you
-
It will be processed but the update may not show.
-
Hi still winning! That's great news on not needing new biometrics. Had you done yours on the US or your consulate abroad? I did mine abroad. I wonder if that changes anything?

NY closed bars starting March 16. https://wnbf.com/governor-andrew-cuomo-orders-bars-restaurants-casinos-theaters-to-close/
I dont know when Texas closed bars. Hopefully you are right, and by quarantining new Yorkers Texans can be spared from this tragedy. Personally, I would not bet on it.
Stay safe everyone. -
if you are able to do this: "partnering with outside resources to provide help to VJ'ers in a bind," for me in particular it would be great if inability to go to a biometrics appointment did not have to delay ap/ead processing. thanks, captain ewok!

We’re expecting some areas to be added but no, not yet. Florida imposed the same rule on the NY tri-state area when they started bringing cases down there.
New Orleans had mardi gras and huge St Paddy celebrations the week of the 17th, as did NYC while we were all locked down because of a small handful of cases.
I’m having trouble building as much sympathy for such irresponsible behavior as we had for Washington State, where it got out of hand before anyone saw it coming.I don't think NYC had mardi gras or a huge st. paddy's. if we did, i was entirely oblivious to it! haven't heard about it.
here's an article about ny postponing st. patrick's parade: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/11/nyregion/new-york-st-patricks-day-parade-canceled.html

as it generally takes up to 14 days for symptoms to manifest, and testing takes about five days to a week, and this disease progresses as quickly as it does, we are looking at data from several weeks ago. therefore, more states might be severely affected than we actually imagine at this time.
that said, i totally agree that we all should try to be as conservative as possible in terms of protecting our health and that of others. In my case, Iam absolutely locked up, by myself in my apartment, because i believe it is the most responsible thing to do (especially as i am expecting a daughter). anyway, good luck everyone and stay safe.

I understand, but doesn't it seem like the averages are changing too fast? my estimates have been pushed back one month from what they were three weeks ago. do they really have that much data to make these projections? i guess they must? thanks for your thoughts

my ap and ead estimates on this website keep getting longer and longer.... 🙄 i don't know how they make those estimates either
-
i honestly think we just have to wait and see what happens... read a novel, do something else... it's out of our hands right now and it's unclear whether anyone knows what will happen

When you move you should inform USCIS of you new address. I imagine that when you do that, they reschedule your appointment to the appropriate location. Sometimes, however, it is not the closest to your home. Someone in orlando had theirs scheduled in tampa. luckily the location i was supposed to attend is a 10 minute drive from my house (although i don't drive), but who knows when they reschedule if I will be in the same place...

It took 108 days for my wife's biometrics, didn't slow us down one bit
cool, just checked your timeline and it seems like that was the case indeed! congratulations. do you have a sense for why your biometrics took so long?
-
Seattle was closed for a while, when the others were open, so it doesn't seem to need to be all or nothing
-
Does anyone care to guess how long it will be before we can get biometrics done in NYC? What about how long combo card (or EAD or AP) will take for those of us doing AOS who weren't able to get biometrics done before application centers closed? Look forward to your guesses/estimates :)
-
This is unchartered territory. I think you'll be fine but can't be sure. My AOas is very delayed because I cant do biometrics (step 1)
-
@alijose, when did they reschedule for?
-
Are you doing consular processing or adjustment of status?
-
Package received on Feb 21
Notices - AOS, AP, EAD, I140 - dated Feb. 28
Biometrics scheduled - April 2nd (bronx office)
Biometrics should be cancelled soon. Who knows when there will be any movement on this... 🙄

Thanks geowrian
