Please when you book your appointment give like 2 weeks and four days after your medicals for your interview before the two weeks expire your packet 3 will be sent to you.

As for police report I paid 3k, don't negotiate when you get there just go with your passport and two passport photograph and tell them what you need the police report for, after they have done everything just give them 3k., after all it suppose to be free.

hahaha Correct! So I plan to do the medical in abuja. it only takes 3 days but I will still allow time to make sure we receive the p3. my case has been at NVC for 17 days today.

I saw ready on ceac website on June 28 and that day I print and schedule my appointment till 17th of this month and the next day I did my medicals, And at this point I have not received my packet 3.

So I called the embassy and they said they haven't received my physical file they only have electronic file and if they did not send me my packet 3 before my interview date,  I won't be able to attend the interview.

And God so good I receive my packet 3 5 days before the interview even though I have done everything with without packet 3.

So I did my interview and I was approved.

So if you went ahead and do all these,  and they haven't email you packet 3 interview won't take place.

I see what you mean. So basically without packet 3 no way? no problem then. I will do the medicals and everything and wait. I believe the medical is valid for 6 mnths. how much did you do your police report?

If that person in your example is processing through your Embassy then you have your answer. But till you find out then your waiting in limbo. Call the medical pple who do your exams and ask them what you need to schedule your medical. That would be the fastest way of getting that question answered. Just my opinion.

I called the hospital for medical and they actually went ahead and booked me for medical. I had to send an email for them to cancel it. basically all they need is the visa appointment letter and the DS160 confirmation page.  how did you meet till i find out I am waiting in limbo?

What does the P3 say. Have you asked the question in your sub forum? Have you studied the Embassy's website? Have you looked at the portal on the blue ribbon above? Have you tried to find a friend in May's group who is at or near their interview? These are all places to look for the answer? This is what I would do.

Each Embassy is different and those who are here are working through a different Embassy so they are not going to know the answer.

The P3 just gives information on how to schedule the medical and the interview which I have inquired about and realized you do not need the "ready" to do anything. once the fee is paid all else can be done. below is one of the reviews I saw here.

" did a lot of online research and saw online that some people took care of a lot of things before the receiving their packet answer that is what I did. We decided not to wait for NVC and took care of the medical exam, police report and even paid the visa fee and set up interview before the case got to the embassy. I did some calculations based on their usual responses off someone else’s timeline that matched the beneficiary’s country and it’s worked in my favor. Case was received by the embassy and we already have all the documents ready, now we are just waiting for his interview date."

There is no subforum. I have chatted and even spoken to alot of people ahead of me too.

Yeah, mine is July 2 and it’s going to Ciudad Juárez in Mexico. I feel your frustration. I don’t even want to call because they just give answers that mean nothing. Lets just keep our fingers crossed 🤞🏼 Good luck to you!

I agree! lol they just give meaningless generic answers. I cant stop refreshing the NVC tracking page to see if something changes. I am thankful that at least I am approved though!

I'm sure this has been asked, but I can't find the answer.  Where are you folks finding the NVC received date?  I got an email from the NVC today stating that they received my file and it was being sent to the embassy.  I then checked the ceac site and it said "in transit to the consular section".  So is today my NVC received or left date?

    it is the left date.

    1. Lagos Consulate does not sent packet 3. go here for instructions http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html#k1k2 and here for interview prep kit that's basically your Packet 3 http://photos.state.gov/libraries/nigeria/487468/pdfs/Interview_Prep_Packet_K1-K3_SEP14.pdf

    2. Form I-134 and info about visa fees, medicals, police report etc.

    3. yes you need to schedule you interview,

    4. you can schedule it when your docs are en route to Lagos from NVC just make sure you have enough time to do your medicals and police report in between.

    5. you pay at GT bank and keep your receipt and take it to your interview

    6. it depends that's Naija but take like 5000 just in case

    7. Not for K1

over all the embassy website is a very good place to get all the info you need.

@Greenbaum damn you are so smart and helpfl. I was waiting to get home to come and help respond to him but you gat it already. thank you for all you do. I was going to emphasize allowing time to mae sure of the medical.

Well I have to say it's been a great 2 days for me and my fiancee. We have her medical exam July 23rd and 24th, also her Embassy interview date on July 27th, her CFO class on the 30th and all within 24 hours our case went from at NVC to Transit to ready!!  Really blessed to know this journey is almost over so everyone? It's almost time for your long distance journey to end as well.Be blessed everyone!!!:jest:

I guess your embassy does not have the two weeks rule that says to g for medical 2 weeks to the interview date.

It means NOTHING. This is for those who are processing a CR-1. But because USCIS/NVC treats the K-1 visa as an immigrant visa (when it really is a non-immigrant visa with intent to immigrate) you will get that information. Ignore it!  Follow your Embassy's instructions.

You are right I called and I was told to disregard that email. looks like someone is having fun with my case because I got another email.

The NVC completed its processing of this visa petition, and forwarded it to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in LAGOS NIGERIA.

We forwarded your immigrant visa petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate on .

If you have any questions about your case you should contact the Embassy or Consulate. You can find how to contact the Embassy or Consulate by going to http://usembassy.gov. Click on the region your Embassy or Consulate is in, and then click on the city name. Once the page loads, click "Contact Us.

I was told to disregard this one aswell as my case is still at the NVC. lol

  10. So I just got this email from NVC. anyone knows what it means?

To continue processing your immigrant visa case, you will need to designate an agent. Please complete Form DS-261 (Online Choice of Address and Agent). We will send instructions for paying the immigrant visa application fee after processing your DS-261. We will send all future correspondence to the agent you selected.

If the principal applicant is under the age of sixteen, the principal applicant's parent or guardian may sign the form.

Please complete and submit Form DS-261 at http://ceac.state.gov.

For more information regarding the immigrant visa application fee, or for answers to frequently asked questions, visit http://nvc.state.gov for English or http://nvc.state.gov/espanol for Spanish.

For your case to continue, you need to pay one or more processing fees. Please go to http://ceac.state.gov and log in with your case number and your invoice ID number. Here are your numbers:

Here is your P3 letter. I believe all your answers will be covered within that document. If you need additional help please return here and ask.

Also, many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

    Thanks

I have been trying to put my country flag and I just cant figure it out. Can you guide me on how to do it? thank you for the information. I appreciate!
